WOW.....WOW...... that thing feels like a different car I decided to take it thru it's paces to see if there was a difference.Well just taking off from the muffler shop i could feel it went thru first QUICK.I couldn't get to second cuz of the traffic. So i head out of town to give her some gas and i stop in front of this guy's house that owns a stang a nice purple one and i just rev the old girl up and dump the clutch i sat there for a bit then started moving the tires spinning and smoking all the way with the back end fish tailing.I hit second with a chirp and second was a whole different beast clutch started to let go and slip so i let off and got back into it then came third you guys know this gear.In third i step on it and boost kinda high so i let off and turned the boost down. got back into it and major clutch slippage but still pulled like a biiiotch and harder than it ever has.Fourth was the same as third with even more slippage and fifth well i just did a small spurt and let off.MAN that pipe is well i can't even put words to it.Then i was going thru town to get alittle more cockpit time and see this Z28 go by so i think oh ya so i quickly get behind him and tail him thru the cruise route and we turn around he gets out before i could and a truck was coming inthe second lane so i tuck behind him and we get a red light(not much i can do behind him a a light)So he takes off and in a hurry i saw the car twist to the side and i take off so fast i almost rearended him(wasn't expecting that much power)we clear the truck being next to us and i go around him in second on the gas (well this part has never happend before)The back end slides out going about 45-50 mph from the boost and i'm like so i let off and let the rear stick back to the road and then get on it again blowing him away.Man what a rush i'm still shaking from the car loosing traction Scottie you are some kind of z god for customizing stuff Anyone who wants one but are not sure if it's worth it well here is proof and most of you know my mods.

It's installed I can't wait to see how much of a difference it makes. The muffler guy broke my o2 sensor so i had to buy another. He tried to get it out in one piece but the threads didn't want to leave the old dp So i got a new one but it needed one anyway.I'll post in about an hour or so to tell the performance difference if it's noticable.

scottyMIz replied to scottyMIz's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Hey loe i plan to do just about everything with them. But they will have to stand up to the drag strip cuz i will go there alot next year.I was just wondering cuz if it was a direct swap then i would have done it this winter.I love the way my zx stops it has great breaks. My z does too but not as good as the zx.I plan to put the turbo rears on it along with the calipers i just wanted to upgrade to a vented front rotor. Oh ya i love these new little guys on the bottom -
Hy mike i don't know about break in oil weight but i run 20w-50w oil in my turbo z cuz the 10-30 doesn't hold up to the heat.I put in racing oil last time and it's been the best so far.

Thanks for the heads up scottie it could have been bad.I showed it to all my friends and they think it's sweet too.I'll update this post when i get it installed

about how much $$ for an l28t swap into an l28n/a? Turbo ide
scottyMIz replied to a topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Hey mak i did a swap into my 76z and it cost me 100 bucks for the whole donor car and another 250 for parts to get it running. Now i have it all in bigger exhaust and bigger injectors added an ic and turned up the boost my results where 12.97@105mph my clutch was slipping too and it was on street tires and pump gas.The zxt engine is very strong and has alot of potential.I'm still running the stock t-3 turbo too.In all to get my car where it is now i can safely say so far i've spent about 8-9 hundred on it.The best thing i've done in along time i should have done it sooner. -
Can't watch it the modem sucks i just get parts and bits of it man hate this server!I need a satellite modem bad.

Hey 327 i just used a fues block from the autoparts store. It has the mini fuses and it works great and i had just enough places in the little box.If you want i'll take a pic of it so you can see.
-
Dang rated that is one sweet car i've never seen it before.Hey i'm going to do my suspension really soon. How much did you cut from the stock spring again?I want to go about 2" or a little more to make the wheels fit in the fender better and reduce some of the front end lifting way up in the air.

I feel left out i don't know how to post my pic!Wait i don't have one of myself uuummmm if broken board gets the video done i'm on that. Can anyone post a pic of me if i email it to them?

My new 18" rims on my 240Z
scottyMIz replied to R0N's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Those set the car off ron Very nice -
Well another update i took some advice and pressurized the carb in the "Bowl" of the carb.It doesn't have a real bowl so i used the fuel return line and it acually worked But... yes there is always a but the return line is just actually just putting gas in the turbo and when it spools up it will push in extra gas but i do think it is pushing the gas thru the carb too.I found out my crappy intake pipe from the turbo to carb isn't too air tight it leaks alot. When it gets flooded it will fill the turbo up with fuel and then when i started it it pushed that big load of fuel up the pipe and i saw it leaking out everywhere So the next thing is a mikuni carb i think unless i can rack my brain for another idea to use the stock carb. One good thing is the fuel has oil in it and it helps oil the turbo but.... yes another but it is very hard to tune cuz the jets in the carb are set one way and all the extra fuel from the return line is pushed into it too so either i can have good low end or good high end no happy medium. But it does run and stay running and does have more power and sounds sweet when i let off the throttle with that psshhhhh sound. Well that's my update for now i think i'll keep on it to try to get a working turbo sled.I lose ambition after a while then i get into it and it gets me excited again and i'm into it again.I have a question too do you guys think that a check valve would work in the return line?I could use it to keep the fuel out but it would let the pressure in what do you think?

Guys i was thinking if the compression level is low enough then extra boost with out detonation is possible right?Well i was thinking either i've been really lucky or the low compression on my engine is what has allowed me to not touch the timing at all with 18psi of boost.I checked the compression yesterday and it came even across the cylinders but it is low like 90 psi on all of them.It does need an oil change bad.The last time i did a compression check i did one before an oil change and then after to see the results and came up with at least a 10 psi increase on all cylinders.I was just thinking cuz when i get the new turbo this winter and the engine will be rebuilt after break in will i have to adjust the timing?

Corvette IRS Update
scottyMIz replied to Scottie-GNZ's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I'm with everyone else and drax is right i looked at scottie's site before i did my swap and he gave me all the info i needed and more.(thanks scottie)If it wasn't for the things he posted i'd still be running my car very lean and at 12 psi. -
Hey vin it is my exhaust gasket i have pics of it with a big spot taken out.I do have to check the compresson again but i'll do it later.I'm planning on rebuilding it anyway so it's no big deal.
-
Hey rated i have a dial a boost in my 76zt and i love it but i don't mess with it much i just leave it at 18psi all the time. But i put mine in my center console and it looks nice and works great.Mine was from msa and did cost 100 bucks but it came with everything.

I think it's an 85 motor but i'm not sure it doesn't have the ic i know that.

Thanks phil i like you being around too Thanks for the info on the roadster parts i'll check them out.As for the bumpers i have the same problem that's why o want to leave them off.If i can't get the stock engine to run right i'll be asking you about that plate for the 5sp swap.
