  1. This is my main wheel, 3-piece Impul Hoshino Racing RS-III (all the little bolts have IMPUL cast into them). 17X7" front with a 215/45R17 Falken Ziex 512, and 17X8" rear with a 255/40R17 Falken. +38mm offset on both, I'm using 1.5" spacers. These wheels are both 4 AND 5 X 114.3, but I've got 4-lug hubs on the car. And I also have a set of MOMO Quasar 15X7" +30mm offset (use the same adapters) 4X114.3 bolt spacing:
  2. You need a throttle body? I just happen to have one, but it's missing the plate. I cut one out of thin copper that I was using for printmaking, but it's kind of floppy, and I don't think it would work well at all...I'll trade you for an R200 that doesn't clunk when coasting? It does have the TPS on it.
  3. Hey Dan, something I like to do when using colored pencils is to get a white one and go over the other colors with it. this will smooth out the scribble effect so common with colored pencils, and help it look professional. As a side note, this will also work with crayons, just use a white crayon instead of a pencil. Also, if you have to use crayons, it helps if you lay it on really thick, and then scratch off the extra wax with something sharp like an exacto knife or a razor. Not that I still color with crayons or anything, and spend my time developing advanced techniques for using them...that would make me some kind of guy with too much time on his hands or something... hate to bring up old stuff, but just to illustrate the difference: NOT with the white over color: WITH the white overcolor:
  4. I got mine through www.summitracing.com without any problems...even came with a free hat...
  5. If anybody ever needed a fork through the nose, it was all those guys on that thread...
  6. I've been to the emergency room for trauma, and they don't do much cleanup while you're waiting. They surely don't launder your clothes while you're waiting for the doctor...I still say bogus, regardless of the snopes page.
  7. I suppose none of you have ever inadvertantly struck oil when looking for gold (if you catch my meaning...)? How long does that bleeding take to stop? The fork would have to go through the skin on both the inside, and the outside of the nose in addition to the cartilage, in four different spots. There would have been blood like crazy, and there is none in these photos. Look at the fork handle in relation to the arm. There is definitely something fishy there...
  8. I suspect this is a bad case of photoshop...where's all the blood? Not to be ghoulish or anything, but if you've ever cut your face it bleeds like the dickens...I really doubt that a fork through the nose would be a completely bloodless event. He doesn't even have any on his shirt, so I'm voting fake.
  9. you're right, I went back and re-read the original thread, and that's pretty much what she described. Sorry for the mix up on my part everybody! here's a link to the thread in question: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=115111&highlight=darn+gtos
  10. Chelle has some pictures of a GTO conversion that had a real ferrari GTO engine in it... *edit* The thread is called "darn gto's are everywhere" or something like that.
  11. If I use it, I'll just finish this one. It's not really looking at the viewer, I was going to put a pair of legs like a rock climbing thief was in the top left of the page, but I needed to take a step back from it for awhile and see if I was still happy with the composition. Master Plan is pretty cool, but you need a hot rod system to run it Keep in mind it's going to be a little short because it was a student game that was pretty much produced entirely over the course of a semester. I was talking to the guy who wrote the code that tells the buildings how to blow up randomly the other night at the release. He was pretty cool, my wife and his girlfriend got along pretty well. I just spent all day today moving my furniture in to the apartment. Man that was a long day! Rolled the U-haul into the return center with one mile to spare from the prepaid miles...
  12. Chewie's doing a robot this time, I can feel it!
  13. I'd do it, but if nobody else wants to, I'll just post pics of my custom to this thread for the fun of it...
  14. Radio controlled S30Z, now THAT I'd like to see...S30 bodies are SO hard to find these days in any scale. Very cool project Ron! Looks like Rusch Motorsports is getting a little competition up there!
  15. Got mine today! The super genius from UPS left it on my doorstep in the middle of a downpour and didn't ring the bell or knock or anything. The outer cardboard box was wet, but the actual packaging of the car was perfectly fine. I must have gotten some early variant of the car to use for my contest model, because I had no headlight covers, and the wheels/tires were different (though the ones on this car are the same ones Chewie had on his contest car). So Eric, when did you say the next contest was starting?
  16. for those that don't like clicking links, I present the wheels in question:
  17. I don't think you're supposed to use silicon to seal those, there is a Dow Corning adhesive that www.kodiakracingwheels.com suggested I use to put together the mythical wider rim sections I was pricing from them, but I don't recall the exact part number. Nice wheels by the way, if I were swimming in money and space I would definitely buy them, but as it is I've already got wheels coming out of my ears...
  18. Thanks guys, I'm really looking forward to it. I dragged my wife to the unveiling of Master Plan, the game that was developed by the outgoing class tonight (http://www.masterplangame.com/), and we're both pretty psyched about getting into a field where I won't feel like a total waste. Twentyfourouncer, funny you should mention that! The second picture (the gryphon) was intended to be part of a submission to an art scholarship contest set up in the 80's by L. Ron Hubbard (yes THAT L. Ron Hubbard, but he was a sci-fi author before he was a "religious entrepreneur") called the future author's/illustrators of america contest. I still might use it, I'm not sure if I like it 100% yet. I wanted to do a really feral, wild looking gryphon since you typically see them all majestic and relatively tame looking in fantasy art. Birds of prey always have a bit of the insane in their eyes when you look at them, and I wanted to impart some of that into this picture.
  19. So my last day of work was Tuesday, and I'm now in the process of relocating to Orlando to go to school. I've already signed the lease, just have to get a Uhaul (or equivalent) and get the necessities down there (turntables, game systems, guitars...you know, the stuff you need when you're in college ). Anyway, Orlandonites, take heed! I will soon be joining your ranks! Well, Monday through Thursday anyway, then I'll be back in Tampa with my wife for the weekends. Here's the last two incomplete drawings that came out of my dead end job:
  20. At least the moped didn't take too much damage...
  21. Hiding the bottle is definitely tough, the only way to really do it is to build some false paneling of some sort, or mount the bottle under the hatch with a smaller fuel cell in place of the factory gas tank I guess. Looks good though.
  22. I love those stealth manifolds! are you going to hide the bottle as well, or was it just to clean up the engine bay?
  23. It does have a bracketing mode, but I haven't gotten that far in the manual. I'm not really looking to do it proffessionally, this was just sort of a favor with benefits for a friend of the family (went to grade school with my wife). I'm not yet savvy enough with the D70 or Photoshop to fool around with Raw mode (the D70 has a TON of in camera editing capability, but the 2.5" screen is tiresome to edit the pictures on), so I generally shoot 10mpxl JPEGs. For what I generally do with them, the quality is pretty good and space-wise it means the difference between 500 or so shots per 2Gb memory card or 1000+ shots.
  24. It came from RacerX's Old School Photos thread, OTM put it up early on.
