  1. Dang Yasin, could that picture be any bigger?
  2. I like to use this stuff... http://cgi.ebay.com/Anal-Eaze-Desensitization-Cream-1-5-oz-lube-NIB_W0QQitemZ270029004761QQihZ017QQcategoryZ36436QQcmdZViewItem?refid=store&gclid=CKT7kOKVm4oCFSCzgAodoUWhhg Sorry man, with a thread title like that, you had to know it was coming...I've got some assembly lube made by permatex that I didn't really like, it was too syrupy, and got my hands all sticky. I used it when I was changing my head since the one I was using had been sitting for a long time. It worked fine, I just didn't like the side effects.
  3. If you could find one of those old school body kits, you'd be the king of the streets. L28et for the win! (I know this isn't a maxima, but it looks pretty close)
  4. Lookin good for the talent show there, gollum...
  5. Mike, what ever happened to this project?
  6. These come from www.race-cars.com. The first two are a bit suspect...notice that the second car supposedly has 75k original miles, but it's a 72 with an L28e... http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/other/1162998831/1162998831ss.htm http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/other/1146800501/1146800501ss.htm This was the best I could do for a "real" historic race car. they used to have a BRE 610 on here, thats what I was going for, but it's gone now. http://www.race-cars.com/carsales/other/1160146882/1160146882ss.htm

  8. I was just reading the "how to modify your manual transmission" at Barnes and Nobles the other day (I'm pretty sure that's what it's called, it's very similar to that anyhow), and they ran down a list of what the differences were on the various T5s. If I remember correctly, the S-10 used a Non-World Class tranny far longer than the other applications. I was trying to find a list of common donor cars for T5s because that's what I expect will end up behind the 73 corvette 350 that I'm trying to get from a buddy. I was kind of hoping to find a nice "use this flywheel/slave cylinder combo with an older SBC" page, but during my quick skim I didn't see it. Might be worth your time to look for the book though. *edit* here it is: http://www.amazon.com/Rebuild-Modify-Transmission-Motorbooks-Workshop/dp/0760320470/sr=8-1/qid=1170474443/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-7565416-3578321?ie=UTF8&s=books
  9. I'll try and fool with it this weekend. I don't think I'll spend any money on it though. If it turns out to be shot, I'll probably just look a little harder at getting my SBC stuff together. I really don't have the time or the pockets to throw a bunch of cash at it right now, so whichever way I go will be the "just enough to get by" route for the short term. I just need it to run decent, it doesn't need to be fast.
  10. If by "under control" what you mean is really "verging on completely non-functional" then yes, i've got it doing exactly that...I need a lovely assistant to help me out with the tuning, I can't do it while driving. I'm really thinking at this point that I may have jumped time or developed some other serious mechanical problem after my disastrous attempt to put the hurt on RonTyler and BRAAP with a premature burnout...it seemed to run relatively smoothly just prior to that, and then it ran like garbage immediately after. I checked under the valve cover the other night and it seemed ok, but you can't tell a whole lot from a quick peek.
  11. My favorite part of that movie was watching that thing get creamed... I'd really prefer to have a turbo FC anyway, something like this here:
  12. I've been wondering about some of Michael's points for awhile now. True stick shift trannies are slowly going the way of the buffalo. You can't even get a stick shift Aston Martin Vanquish, at the new car show here in Tampa it was looking like you couldn't get a Lexus in a stick at all on the new models (at least all the ones I looked at). You can tell me all you want that a paddle shift changes gears faster than a stick shift, but I really don't care. I'll opt for a real stick as long as I can find a car that's offered in one. I actually personally drove to three different Nissan dealers in three different cities to find my 02 Altima in the color I wanted in a stick shift (because the dealers were making it hard for me and wouldn't do a trade. They also told me it was now impossible to order a car in the specification that I wanted).
  13. Dupli-color has a line of paints called "Metalcast" that are supposed to simulate an anodized finished. They make a base coat you can put down that will give it a "bass-boat flake" if you so desire, but I opted not for this project. I had to do a "rough" polish of the lip so it would look right.
  14. I still haven't got my engine running right, I'm beginning to suspect mechanical trouble. It sounds like it's got a miss. I just pulled the valve cover, and everything looks to be in order, but it was a fairly cursory inspection. Cam lobes all looked good, and all parts appeared to be in place. Plus I ran out of gas. I'm thinking at this point that my cam timing may be off. When I changed the head gasket, I didn't use a new timing set, and it was a little hard to determine which links were the "shiny" ones...The problem with this theory is that the car ran well enough before the megasquirt (that is to say: after the head swap, but before the megasquirt), so I'm tempted to point the finger at that...then again, it ran slightly better before the attempted burnout, so maybe it jumped time? Anyway, here is an updated picture of the car equipped with the MOMO quasars.
  15. We got into this discussion a while ago on this thread (towards the end though, the beginning has some concept car pictures) http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=114641&highlight=lamborghini
  16. I've never liked those super-rebody RX-7's, like that orange thing from Tokyo Drift. They just don't do anything for me. I'd rather have one that looks like this: But without the cheesy door conversion.
  17. Saw they were Ronals before the pictures came up, and I was really hoping they were Teddy Bears...Sigh...maybe someday I'll find a set...
  18. That's crazy, MY wife just got a G35! 4-door auto...Hybridz Twins powers, activate!
  19. If by "run", what you mean is "burns gas and makes engine noises" then yes...yes it does. Does it go anywhere fast? Let me ask the 8-ball..."signs point to no..."
  20. Drifting is more like figure skating vs Ice Hockey. It's a style battle more than a race.
  21. Once I saw you were in Alaska, I thought it might be something like that. I wasn't meaning to criticize, just throwing it out there. good luck with your project, anyway.
  22. I told him not to wear those antlers...
  23. Sweaty muffins? why would you want that on your birthday? I like to have water balloon fights whenever my b-day rolls around..."excuse me mam, but do you have the time?" "why yes, it's *SPLASH!!!!*" ah, the memories...
  24. AK-Z, isn't the point of using the KA trans because it will hold up to more abuse than the L-series tranny? Around here, junkyard transmissions are like $49.99 plus like a $10 core if you pull them yourself. I would think that waiting for next weeks paycheck would save you a lot more hassle than trying to get your tranny you've already got to work? Just a thought, I don't know what pricing is like in your area, so maybe that's not applicable anyway... *edit* here is an interesting link for you guys: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=115464&highlight=ka+tranny+swap and http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=98875&highlight=ka+tranny+swap I knew I'd read threads about this swap...I used "KA tranny swap" in the search to find these, among others.
