  1. I always tell them to send the check, then tell them I've recieved it and cashed it. Then give them the address of the police dept to pick up the car/what ever and I'll meet them there on a given date. Funny nobody's shown up (that I know of ha-ha), niether have I.
  2. I'll throw the newbie a bone. But I think this is going into the shed. http://www.snowperformance.net/product.php?pk=77
  3. Yes it is, the price is what it is, the experts know about this car. The technical details are lost just bid damn't I know you've got an extra $249K laying around for a 260Z 2+2 ROTFLMAO!!!!:lmao: Shoot I'll offer my Scarab for sale how about $50K, sound reasonable?
  4. Kick the car to the curb, get a house. You're right NOW is the THE time to buy!!! Be aware though, don't get an (ARM) adjustable rate mortgage.
  5. Thanks for showing us schleps (me) how it's done right, OMG!!! I tried to find you thread over on classicz but couldn't find it again, thanks for posting. Now everybody pay attention, this is why you want to start out with a rust free car. Pay a little more, "pay me now or pay me later" says the Z car. Excellet job!!! Don't you dare add up those reciepts, you'll cry. I'll never add up mine either. David
  6. I'd consider holding out for the TFS heads, IMO. Aluminum, lighter good flowing heads. I've got a set on my build. I have iron heads on the Scarab and it is nose heavy, not just from engine placement but from the weight of the heads too. Any aluminum head is going to be your best bet. Have you checked out Patriot heads? Check these out on sale. https://www.patriot-performance.com/xcart/product.php?productid=220&cat=90&page=1
  7. Update. Floor pans are in seats and roll bar mounted. Floor pan Fenders cut for ZG flairs. Need to be raised another 1/2" on the upper arch. Note the nice transition at the bottom of the wheel arch front and back, these guys are doing a very nice job here. Fuel tank with sump. Went with the GB wheels Rota RB-R Engine bay holes have been filled and smoothed
  8. Tomorrow we're mounting Sparco Torinos in my 240 which just got new pans and rails installed. I'll snap some pics of the process and post them up here. The seats will obviously have custom brackets/mounts made for the Sparco sliders.
  9. Go talk to those guys at the muffler shop and see if they can refer you to somebody. Keep beating the bushes, take a drive outside of town, I've found several welding shops in my area that I didn't know existed. Look at places that make trailers too, those guys sales have dropped off too and they have lots of welding experience. Don't be afraid to head over to the hispanic area of town (if you have one, we do) some of the guys around here are master auto mechanics and work for reasonable rates, esp on paint and body work.
  10. The above picture are Bad Dog rails and Zeddfindings floor pans. You may want to also visit a welding shop to see what they would charge, $75/hour seems pretty steep given these economic times. I think if you shopped around $40-50/hr would be what you could find. Doing all the prep yourself would save you tons too.
  11. How do you figure it's a waste of money? Do you know what it takes to do this? Don't forget you'll need frame rails too!!! Your best bet is to get the Zeddfindings floor pans which are prebent to the shape of the car and FIT not just 16ga sheet metal that will be a PITA for somebody to work with. I'd start by cutting out the old ones then finding somebody to weld in the new. How about giving it a shot yourself? Just get the tools and try it. Here are some picture of my car that I'm wasting money by having a shop replace the pans, and rails on. This was early on, I can snap some more pics this weekend and show the finished product.
  12. That sux but....it's political and guess where this is headed?
  13. Ha I kept my cars in side (Z and G35). It was a nasty ice storm for sure. Z car abuse? No that's just the way it was, this storm was a real butt kicker!!!
  14. How about an update on this thread, NINE years now!!!! Happy birthday HBZ!!!! I'm no post whore, member since Feb 2000 only 618 posts!!!! David
  15. Jeez Tyson, it looks so nice, all the trouble, that sux. My build has been at the rod shop getting metal work done since Sep 08. Had to switch cars midstream. So I'm working on car #2 now. Keep a good attitude bro, it'll turn out amazing sooner or later. David
  16. This was my first attempt at a V-8 Z car. SCARAB engine bay
  17. Break it up now, break it up now...every body move on now.... Brake, brake, brake......smash, oh $hit. Oh well it's only metal.
  18. The first one looks like it has a lot of blue in it. Giving it a cold steel look, I have alway liked that color. I can't really tell the BMW color with all the reflections on the paint.
  19. I know exactally where that is. There was a z over there for sale a few weeks ago.
  20. Go west young man!!!! TX OK AZ NM Search you'll find some decent ones. East coast NEEDS some clean cars headed up that way for years to come, go for it.
  21. Hey Grim where in Arkansas do you live?
  22. A novel and less destructive treatment is scraping the track out and filling it with fibrin glue. This has the advantage of causing much less pain than traditional surgical treatments and allowing return to normal activities after 1-2 days in most cases
