Do it, if it's rubbing, it's limiting your fun. I know. Flair it, carefully cut the fenders as in Austins write up, add some spacers if necesary and ENJOY, rubbing sucks.

An update. New engine Interior is removed need to take dash out. I'm not too good a this "cutting" thing. Learned a lesson; use thinner wheel.

240Hoke-Wheels for flared 240z
dsommer replied to 3.0Retroride's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
His wheels are 16" Watanabe's they are not (to my knowledge) avaliable in 17". There is a group buy for Rota RB's for the size your are looking for, check out the group buy section. -
The difference is the mounting brackets. The 70-71-72 brackets are thinner metal pieces that (this is hard to describe) bolt to the body and then the bumper, the 73 are more of a crash type bumper BRACKET with a round tube on the end that pushes the bumper away from the car. The 73's also used a boomerang looking bumper filler on both ends to fill in the gap on the ends. I will try to get some pics for you guys and post them here.

Fender mirrors are all over the place if you take time to seek them out. Gnose, now that's where it's at, but I doubt they'd let you bring that on a plane.

Why are the underside of Zcars so ugly
dsommer replied to youngblood's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Huh? Gotta love it when PO jacked the car up by the floor board (see passenger side on the Scarab grrrrr) -
Currently the engine is at the builder and he told me that the piston is SLIGHTLY above the deck (#6) by .003. Block was decked but the builder did not request that it be zero decked. Solution is to use a Felpro head gasket #1144-061 (or -053) to resolve any possible issue of piston interference. Engine internals: Eagle 4340 Forged Steel Steel Internal balance 2pc rear main seal 3.75†crank Mahle Forged Racing Pistons 11:1 (.040 over bore)compression ratio Phosphate Dipped and Teflon Coated 6†Eagle ESP 4340 Forged Steel H Beam Rods with ARP 8740 Bolts Mahle Moly Racing Performance Ring Set King Race Bearings Rods and Main ARP main studs ARP head studs My questions are: Is this normal for the piston to protrude out of the bore? If I use this gasket, is it made for the .040 overbore Can anybody source these gaskets cheaper or recomend an alternative as these are expensive at $80 EACH!!! Thanks, David

Spoke with a supplier off ebay about the TKO 600 (tranny $2100) You CAN use the T-5 bellhousing (an SFI approved McLeod (sp) bell housing is an extra $300). He recomended a clutch upgrade to the Centerforce unit I would need only the clutch and pressure plate ($300). Can also use the Tilton master cylinder I've already got along with the slave, throw out bearing and pilot bearing. The input spline count remains the same (26) but the slip yoke changes to a C6 31 spline. To mate this to a GM drive shaft you use a Spicer U-joint part number 5-134X or NEAPCO 1-0134. For more info call Tom Thompson at AMP Performance 1-800-454-8387. He got me straight on the questions I had. Well I'm about to embark on the second build of this car. The first go around began in 1999 and the car kind of got shelved/lost interest in 2004 when I bought the Cobra. I didn't have a ton of money back in 99-02 to put in the project but now times have changed so here we go with the second coming of the car. Here is what I’m looking at from the top to the bottom most parts are on hand unless noted. Fiberglass SS hood Holley TB/EFI set up Edelbrock Torker intake with the hidden NO2 set up Full roller/Full forged 383 c.i. SBC stroker engine T-5 transmission with *Centerforce DF clutch and Hurst billet shifter R-200 LSD rear end with custom mounts and brackets + CV axels Custom MML coil over suspension with Tokico 5 way adjustable struts Arizona Z car racing brake set up Sport Max wheels, Fulda Z rated tires 245-50-16 (on the car now) JDM ZG fender flairs (cut metal fenders to clear the tire+wheel set up!) Bad Dog frame rails for additional strength Sump OEM tank with custom built fuel sump Custom fuel plumbing Sparco Seats SCCA roll bar Sound deaden doors Few more gauges NO2 pressure A/F meter Paint and body work So with out further ado welcome 1TUFZG Z, let the wrenching begin. Start... or where I quit a few years ago. New tires and wheels. Sport Max 16X8 with Fulda (Goodyear Germany) 245-50-16 Home at last!!!! Interior this will change (colors) Bye-bye bling stuff... Eagle 4340 crank, H beam rods Mahle pistons balanced. Had to push the car out of storeage wouldn't start. At home engine out. Rear fender taped for cut out for ZG flair. Drivers side ready for cut. I've never done this before so it's not pretty Ready for some welding[ Timing gear cover powder coated matte black. Short block coming along. Kevko oil pan before coating Coated. Unassuming enough.... Bottom side of unassuming, all business...

That's what Dave told me to do, just remove the ends completely.

Question, will the TKO trannys NOT bolt up to the T-5 bellhousing? Mike approx what $ did you spend on your TKO set up? Thanks, d

Wait til they hit the used car lots, I just don't believe that Hyundai can hold resale value like an ahem C class, Accord or Camry. But 375HP is some thing to be reckoned with!!!

OK if it's on the correct side then how do I go about raising it, that would take away from either the front mount area where the body changes angles (lower rocker/dogleg area, but it seems that's where Austins is lined up.) So do I raise the rear edege and cant the flair forward or am I just reading too much into this??? It's easy to cut too little, your screwed if you cut too much ya know.
