  1. I stumbled upon that video the other night. Sounds and looks good!
  2. But they're around. I'm 20-30 minutes from philly, and I know of a few people in the area.
  3. Long shot, but is this your car? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jb4gp4r_6wg
  4. #230 is considered REALLY early - that one would have a 1969 build date. Can't really comment on #6016, since I don't know. I'd say it's pretty early, but nothing like #2764.
  5. Did you let it settle? Before: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_MzDneJv4LQ0/SZpjh5RWJsI/AAAAAAAAHy4/Z8smJGPU9tM/s800/p1010441.jpg After, but before letting it settle: http://lh5.ggpht.com/_MzDneJv4LQ0/SZplfsrk0mI/AAAAAAAAH0A/MOvY9fVcj2k/s800/p1010453.jpg I wouldn't worry about it. Our 280z looked weird right after we let it down too. On the note of getting 240z shock tops, I bought AZC springs, and stole the shock tops off my 240z, since my 280z ones tore, and I'm kind of worried about it being TOO low. We'll find out.
  6. That looks good! Reminds me of this one, done by Tim240z:
  7. lol, he was just messing with me, since there is very little we agree on. Good to hear you aren't going to cut up the car though. IMO, a turbo tom setup would be pretty cool for this one.
  8. That's a pretty early 240z. While I know there's nothing I can do to stop you, or perhaps even persuade you, I really hope you don't do anything too extreme, if anything at all, to that car. And BTW, I'm really not much of a purist, or I wouldn't be on this site. IMO, this is one of those cars that is really just better off left as-is.
  9. I really don't like the wheels but the rest of it is pretty nice. Lots of subtle body work that was pulled off well.
  10. Definitely creative, and by itself I think it looks good, however, I don't think a flat and square front end fits on a Z, which is neither a flat nor square in design. I'm interested to see how it's going to turn out.
  11. I completely agree with all you've said here. HybridZ or not, some cars are just best left as is. It's not often you find a one owner '70 in such good condition as he has described. If he really wants to modify it, he should do bolt on modifications only, and keep the original parts such that he can always put it back to the way it was when it left the dealer.
  12. Got a 3.60. Looks like my eye is a little rusty compared to what I got in the other thread.
  13. While he is right that you should be doing the searching, there is also the Subaru R180 option. There's a sticky on it in the Drivetrain subforum. There's also a write-up, I believe by hughdogz, for a Pathfinder (I think?) LSD. Or maybe he used the nismo unit and pathfinder axles... I forget.
  14. You should see my Z's and my Jeep... more rust than you can imagine...
  15. I wanted one for a few reasons. 1) Parents had one when I was a kid, and still do. 2) Austin's (240hoke) car. 3) Cost/fun factor. Low cost, lots of fun. 4) I wanted something I could get my hands dirty on (and I did). Of course, now I just want to drive the damn thing, and conveniently, it's in a few hundred pieces. I have my eye on a nice original 240z (or two!... ok probably not) that I'm going to try to buy this summer... plans for it? Driving. Lots of it. Who knows if I'll actually be able to afford it though.
  16. In this particular case, I'm afraid I have to echo this post. An original, early 70 240z in good condition is worth more stock.
  17. +1, me too. I figure thats about as much as I can hope to get for it. LOL found the link. It seems I really can't read lately.
  18. It looks like the car had a natural flare to begin with. I would say expand on that to retain a bit of a factory look. Should look badass if done properly.
  19. Really?! I thought you graduated a year ahead of me (I graduated in 08), which would put you at 19 or 20.
  20. Disagree. This is a car forum, most people on here should be at least old enough to get a permit, which is usually at 15 years old. I know there's a few who are 14, but they won't be 14 forever...
  21. Everyone whose age ends in a 0 or 5... where do they vote?
  22. It would help, but it would still look unfinished. You NEED both front and rear flares to pull it off. Looks goofy with just the rear.
