  1. I'm trying to make sense of the duct tape... why? But on the note of the wiring, reminds me a bit of my 280Zs wiring. There were speakers, but no radio. There was a switch with a cover that I just assumed to be a fuel pump switch, and I accidentally disconnected it. Turns out that switch did NOTHING! It was there for show. I'm sure theres more I'm forgetting, but when I think back on these things I don't regret taking my car completely apart, rendering it immobile quite so much.
  2. They look really dangerous. No good pics of our three cats at the moment. I'll have to take some when I can.
  3. Eh... doesn't look very old to me. I forget who sells it, but there was a company that did a vintage-look stereo and it looked almost EXACTLY like the stereo they based it off of.
  4. It looks like a project, but I'd say it's certainly fixable. I would absolutely not drive it though.
  5. LOL me too! Sucks that it happened, but hey, no one got hurt.
  6. Sweet! Hope to see you there, my friend and I should be going.
  7. Looks clean, and MUCH better with those wheel! Amazing how much difference a change in wheels makes. BTW, I know you're from the tristate area, are you going to the huge Sonic meet coming up?
  8. That crack in the roof would have me REALLY worried
  9. I would tend to agree with this, being that I've been planning on painting my Z that color since before I even had it!
  10. I think you should just stick with stock for the front grill. I've seen a few things that also look good, but I think the stock grill looks best. As for the mesh in the rear, if you're going to do it, paint it black. You may want to though, just in case some kid decides to put his trash in there or something.
  11. That's a great color. It gets my vote.
  12. Always. I just use regular $5 work gloves from home depot though.
  13. While I think calling it clean is a bit too far with all that rust, I agree that it is very repairable. Looks like just floors/subframes/rockers. Pretty typical on this coast.
  14. I'm just saying, I would hope everyone on here has all that stuff up to date *shrug* My bad if I just turned this thread into a political thread.
  15. I definitely see where you're coming from. However, insurance, etc. is something you need to have anyway... so unless you've got something to hide, no need to worry.
  16. Just so happened I had a '72 front bumper without brackets, bumperettes, or overrider bar behind my couch. Looks like it's 8lbs (had to weigh myself with and without the bumper). Hope that helps.
  17. Looks pretty clean, and also pretty solid. However, I disagree with you when you say it looks like he's done the body work. if you look at the drivers side of the hood and headlight scoop, it looks like it was hit with something. Looks like you'll have a bit of body work to do, but hopefully not too much. Looks relatively straight. What's his asking price?
  18. Pictures are worth 1000 words. Pictures would really help us out if you want our input. From the description, it sounds good. But then again, from the description, my 240Z sounded like it needed floors and subframes. Which is the same car I'm currently in the process of cutting up due to its decrepit, unsalvageable condition.
  19. Nice video! Are you planning on any chassis reinforcement?
  20. Personally, I think the tail lights of the 240z should simply be left alone. I've seen only a small handful of cars with custom tail lights that actually look good.
  21. Totally agreed. As much as I would like my Z to be unique from the rest, I realize that I can't really tell people not to paint their car the same color as mine. Fortunately, I don't think that'll be an issue with it's current color(s). Go with the green. It'll look great with the black flares.
