It seems that some cars have a filter system beofre the ecu, some Buicks and Saabs, this could be used to give a 0v-5v into the megasquirt

It would be tricky to detect knock on all types of engines but not that hard for one type eg L6 Ill work on something and give you the schematics

would you guys be interested in a simple device tht you could wire to a used knock sensor taken from another car. It could give an audible or visual warning. Let me know and I'll knock something up...excuse the pun:)

Hi Guys I plan on starting my l28ET build soon and was wondering what type of exhaust and inlet valves would be best suited to a turbo engine. I have tried searching but not found anything which mentions material. Would stainless steel be best? keeping standard size valves. Any info would be great help. Thanks

I think the he351 has a 2mm larger compressor wheel and some differences in the exhaust exit shape

I found this on the net HE351CW specs... straight from Holset... I emailed them last night. "60mm inducer / 85mm backface. The tubine housing is a 9cm^2. Turbine wheel is a 65mm backface / 58mm inducer. "

Hi I have searched and searched but can't find the part number for an HY35w turbo, The number I'm looking for is the number that starts with 35??????? and is stamped on the metal id plate. Could someone that has one of these on thier Z let me know please. I'm trying to order one from a turbo dealer, he needs the 35 number to be 100% Thanks

No fee on the phone just get a pay as you go phone and leave it with some credit on, make sure the service provider doesn't have some minimum time limit on the use of the credit though. Over here some providers kill your credit if you don't use it within a certain time. Also If you car is stolen you could always call the phone if its set to silent and listen in.

All sorted, The guy had gone on holiday for a few days, I had an email from his mother explaing about the bad traders list and how his name was listed 7 yrs ago. A cheap way to fit a tracker to your car is to hook up an old cell phone to a permant live in your car using an old car chager. Set the cell to auto answer and silent ring tone. Register the cell on one of those phone tracking companies...costs around $60 a year to register, well it is here in the UK. You can then go online and see the exact location of your car anytime.

Yeah I called them and they said, sorry we can't refund you but we can freeze the account. Then they told me to wait a few weeks to see if it turns up!!! errr so he is going to send it to me without getting his money? I don't think so. I've still had no contact so I had to escalate it to a claim. They now have a given time to respond, if they don't I will get my money, I hope. I will feel really bad if this guy has had an accident or something but I don't think I am being out of order here.

Yeah I had quite a few emails with him and this is why it seems a little strange, I mean a megasquirt is not your everyday con mans ideal selling item. Seemed very genuine which is why I went ahead with the deal. It was after no contact since payment was made for 3 days that I entered his name into google to see if his address was real and to see if he had a phone number I could call him on. I hope there is a good explanation for the lack of contact. The bad trader web page just made me feel very uneasy about the deal which is why I asked paypal to try and stop the payment, and give others a heads up to a possible problem. I was hoping that maybe someone on here could give a good reference in past dealings. Fingers crosssed

Seems very strange though a Z owner would try this sort of thing, unless he has no Z of course. Had email response untiul the payment was made and then nothing for 3 days. I guess thats the problem with internet sales.

Hey Phil Yeah me too, it drives me mad trying to get through to paypal. I am really worried though. I have had dealings with paypal before and I doubt I will see my $400 again. Pissed is not the word!! Maybe others have been caught out by this

yeah Phil that sounds great, the more videos the better...I could watch them all day:biggrin: I'm in the middle of buying all the bits to build myself a similar setup to yours....I decided to use the megasquirt as there is so much info on here for it.
