  1. I've been driving my car for a while now but the last few days I have used it on the track and had some problems. When I am accellerating out of a corner it cuts out for a split second then goes then cuts out again. It doesn't backfire just dies dead for a spilt second. I have 2 fuel pumps and a swirl pot, fuel is staying cool, I'm running an F54/p90 combo with MSII and EDIS. I will zip the lastest log which you can see the problem at 79.6 seconds. Any ideas? injector drivers getting hot? I'm using low imp 680cc injectors.....it doesn't do it all the time which is making it harder to find. Thanks for looking msq and log.rar
  2. No reason why not but you would need to wire cyl 1 + 6 2 + 5 and 3 + 4 in parrallel. Check the impedance of 2 COP's wired in parallel and compare to the EDIS coil pack.
  3. Couldn't you interrupt the power feed to the coilpack for flat shifts, thats pretty much what a quick shifter does on bike engines.
  4. 280Zforce, did you use the standard exhaust manifold or a customs one? there isn't much room between the turbo and the inner fender even without an external wastegate fitted. Doyou have any photo's of your setup?
  5. yep I had the same problem, I had to keep freeing it up. It stopped sticking after a few times. I think the shaft was slightly bent.
  6. I just got my Greddy Profec A installed at it works a treat! I have seen some posts around saying there had been problems with this unit. I have a dual port actuator which I set the base pressure at 7 psi. I connected the controller to it as you would an external wastegate (dip sw1 set for external) I ran a vacuum hose from the manifold to the first port of the actuator (one nearest the front of the car) I ran the hose from the valve unit (port under the letter G of Greddy) to the other side of the actuator ( one nearest the wastegate lever). I connected the port from the valve unit (under the letter E of Greddy) to the boost port on the turbo and T'd the port on the valve unit ( under the letter Y ) into the hose that runs to my fuel pressure regulator (from the manifold). After doing 2 pulls in 3rd gear the unit was ready to use, I set the bost level at 7 psi and it held all the way to 6k, then tried 10 psi and then 14 and it was rock steady. Seems like a good little unit which can be picked up for a good price off ebay. like this but imagine the external is a dual port internal profec2.pdf
  7. I thought once you had selected the EDIS option in ignition settings you didn't have to mess with toothed wheel settings
  8. My car is lowered but not sure by how much, probably 2" I could measure the engine craddle to floor distance if that helps. The airdam is an MSA urethane. It rubs right where the flare joins the dam....like this
  9. I run 17 by 9" -13mm on the front of my car with 235/45/17 tyres, they rub on the edge of the front air dam so I cut 10mm section away to clear it.
  10. I use to DD my 240 until I came to bolt the cage in abvout 3 months ago.....spent the next 3 months repairing the rust, now I only drive it on dry roads.
  11. I'd say valves and ijector noise. Listen to my car when I first started it this engine had new everything but needed valve adjustment.
  12. http://www.verociousmotorsports.com/Shop-by-Category/Stainless-Steel-Reducers Oh that's nasty!! yeah I used one of these to do mine.
  13. Thanks This is the style of valve I use....i sticks sometimes in the cold mornings, apart from that it works well. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/COLLINS-PERFORMANCE-DOUBLE-PISTON-DUMP-VALVE_W0QQitemZ250145039720QQihZ015QQcategoryZ72205QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247
  14. I have a RHD breaking for parts here in the UK if anyone wants any parts
  15. Mine has a second plastic piston on a low pressure spring to keep the hole closed when the larger piston opens on idle. I guess the only problem is unfiltered air entering the engine.
  16. You're lucky yours will even get in your car....The first and last time mine got in the Z she moaned about how unsafe it felt.
  17. My pug gap is .030. Are you running the old style alternator with external regulator? noise should show up on the log if that's what it is. Email one over to me to look at.
  18. Plug gap too big? worth a look maybe
  19. Apart from mine having a holset and 680cc injectors we the same spec.
  20. sounds like your vr sensor is causing the spark to fail....unburnt fuel ups the O2 and shows as lean. That or your rev limit is set to low. lets see a log.
  21. Glad you caught him, over here if you had so much as touched him you would probably been charged with assult on a child. I remember being in my Dads car years ago on the Motorway, we could see some kids standing on a bridge, as we got closer you could see them hanging something over the edge ready to drop.....there wasn't enough time to move (80mph) it went under the front of the car and burst the tyre.....it was a brick in a black bag!!! Lucky escape.
  22. Switch injectors over to 2 squirts alternating....mine runs better like that.
