  1. ummmm... im gonna go with... "congrats"
  2. what isn't he getting machined is a better question poor guy been to like 29 machine shops and the block has gotten more seat time than tool time. reminds me of the cleaning I got on your block scotty. left to surface rust in the shop after being dipped in some crappy ass acid dip (probably some environmentally friendly stuff)... but WITH THE CORE PLUGS still in the block. I'm glad I didn't keep the block there. and man did that guy ever talk until i had to pick my ears up off the floor.
  3. that's what i've been hearing too. SPOOL rods are two piece and have the big end punched out to redirect the grain direction, making it "like a knot in wood" Anyone who's tried to hand-saw wood will attest to the multiplication of strength required to saw through those little buggers and the wood surrounding 'em
  4. the law. EDIT: and the fact that some people want to be able to have a conversation about how cool their car is while driving with their impressed passenger, rather than coming out of the car with scratchy throats and hearing troubles and trying to make sense of weird hand gestures and motions of the passenger showing his friends how he was thrown back into the seat. lol. i dunno
  5. ahhh i see. i thought the eagles were single piece and machined into form. are tomei's forged two piece then?
  6. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. been waitin for you man!. I really hope the block works out for you. I remember you saying one of the guys at your work was a welder of some sort, so I hope that worked out fine. It doens't look too serious, but I'd hate to be the guy that sold you a faulty piece of equipment... but 800 for two RB30's with all rotating assembly parts... can't beat that!. What's the story with the block =) ?
  7. i have them. here's a pic. sorry, I can't send them though. I would have to buy them again and that might take time for them to arrive. Mine are in "storage". (the pic was taken months ago) Part Number: 01527-00031 - DOWEL - BLOCK TO HEAD Per Vehicle: 2 Hope it helps.
  8. by billet do you mean billet aluminum? I'm not sure if it's anything worth mentioning because, sadly, you've taken apart your engine more times in the car's downtime than many people have throughout their entire race-life with one car/engine. but aluminum rods will be out of round and stretch beyond acceptable tolerances after about 75 - 85 passes, and really bad by about 100. Especially at 8,000+ rpm which is conservative given your full tune JUN head.
  9. you should grab the ones from GTRCanada too, and sticky them as well.
  10. 14001-02U01- MANIFOLD ASSY-INTAKE (R33 RB25DET) 14035-75T01- GASKET-MANIFOLD **MATCH** 14001-AA501- MANIFOLD ASSY-INTAKE (R34 RB25DET) 14035-75T01- GASKET-MANIFOLD **MATCH** Survey says... manifold gaskets are a match. If I were you, I would purchase it, shouldn't be too hard to sell even at brand new price, minus shipping. (in the case that it does not fit) But I'm not advising you to buy it, I'm just saying I would buy it if I saw the data I just posted.
  11. just noticed the last picture has the RB25DE oil dipstick in the parts list (#1). Substitute it with the numbers you see above Raff.
  12. which model car/engine do u need a dipstick from? I can get u a part number.
  13. I guess when you have no bypass, a high pressure oil pump for an RB (which, lets be honest... costs $1000+).... buying one of those 250 dollar Tru-Filters with the wire mesh screen and drainable housing really make sense, no?
  14. I think the only way to really turbo an electric car is to give it a shot of over-volting when you giv'r full throttle.
  15. soooo.. next question. didn't you notice the other sump plug located on the font of the pan hump? lol.
  16. the R33 filter number is AY100-NS007 I read that KA24 filters and VG30DET filters are the same. I cannot verify. I will take a stab in the dark and say that the body and innards are the same except for the number of pleats in the filter element, causing the R33 filter to possibly flow as much or more than the VG engine counterpart. I hope that helps somewhat in your search.
  17. Can you elaborate on this? None of the 3 books I've read indicate or show any way/reason to do so.
  18. Royal Purple 10W30 (non XPR/RP51), and WIX (Napa Gold) or Purolator Pure1 filters are and will be all I use on my Z31. I ALWAYS advise people against using FRAM or Quake State filters. I try to tell them to get Napa Gold filters, but do they listen? no. WHY? #1 Excuse: "It's too far for the nearest napa". 8 km is SOOOOO far for something that will prevent engine damage. Yet they fail to realize that if the engine goes, it will be the one thing stopping them from going to Wal-Mart or Canadian Tire to purchase that self-destructing FRAM. Anyways... Stony, hate to see this stuff. I think you've probably been through more bull-crap with your engine than anyone else has on their entire car in most cases. Not to mention your chassis fiasco too. Hang in there man. It will be worth it, and if you quit now... a lot of us will realize we're under a security blanket called "support" and "inspiration", and it can fly away at any one time!
  19. Oh, I got some more info for you. You can order the plug and washer from the following cars, and save on shipping from japan.
  20. I like to refer to myself as the Click-King, but you can still buy me a pint of Guinness.
