  1. haha yeah just read through the pages and it is a joke. but i guess this did actually happen 4 years ago...here's the original post http://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1567770.phtml
  2. http://www.audiforums.com/m_693578/mpage_4/key_/tm.htm best part :"but he figured it'd be OK as long as we didn't make boost and it get sucked in the turbo" sooo....turbo no worky without boost??
  3. good plan. be careful of the clutch kick....its a fastrack to destruction if not done right i'd probably start with an e-brake drift, follow it up by powering over...learn to control angles and slides and then you can play with different ways of initiating the drifts. just a thought. Definately watch the drift bible. he explains it waaay better. and fun to watch.
  4. well first off go and find a copy of best motoring's "Drift Bible" by tsushiya. watch that about a hundred times or so... you don't need big power to drift by any means. it can actually hinder you in some ways. Learn with what you've got first. I would stiffen up the suspension a bit, get a LSD or weld the diff. 1 wheel drive doesn't do well with drifting Save the big motor upgrades for later. learn to drift your car first. then the power will help you once you want to get into more complicated drifting styles. At some point you're gonna want to figure out how to get more travel out of your front wheels. Stock, they don't have enough travel left to right to be able to get good drift angles set up, especially for an under-powered car. There was a couple threads on here about how to go about doing this. A search of 240z drifting should pull it up. I am not an expert, or anything close. but im around the drifting scene quite a bit here, and pick up some tips every now and then. good luck!
  5. just noticed how much the lack of chrome window trim adds to the look. Beautiful execution of a car. Only hope my car looks like that some day, just in blue. Speaking of which...anyone wanna photoshop my color onto that car for kicks?? lol
  6. why do people keep talking about cold air intakes, when the intake location can't get any colder? just a pet peeve.... if you are looking to break the bank, check out Kameari Engine Works. They're a japanese company but have branched out into the US aswell. But that kind of stuff probably is more for the 400+ hp crowd...
  7. It's clearly been stated that no one here hates hondas, but rather the ignorant ricer mentality many of the people driving them seem to have...thinking they are god's gift to racers. I myself have seen a 10 second 4 door accord at the local strip. And i love the S2k and NSX. No doubt they can be made quick...but intake, fart can, and "v-tach" doesn't cut it. this thread will self destruct in 3, 2, 1...
  8. on the bus going back to the narita airport, i saw a few junk yards on the outskirts of the city about 15 mins from narita... dunno if they'd have what you're looking for and its a ways away from you. might be worth a shot tho
  9. oh, i forgot to ask...where should i visit next time? i already have a pretty good list including the 4am seafood part of town...Kameari engine works, etc. No idea when im goin back....but i sure am going to try!
  10. thanks guys...am glad you like the pictures. I definately didn't take enough though lol. i was there for 48 hours. My dad is a pilot with Air Canada...and so i just flew on a trip with him. So air fare was free for me. (dad payed...but its only like $100 or something). We got in at around 5pm sat. night and left the hotel at 2pm monday. (5pm flight). Also the hotel was free because i stayed in the room with my dad, which the airline pays for. lol. me = Score. All the pictures are from sunday and monday morning (my camera died and didn't get batteries . I didn't really do much saturday night anyway...the crew (3 pilots and me) went to dinner that night, and then i just slept, figuring i might as well get a good sleep and be awake for the next day...and then just stay up really late sunday night. (which i did) We didnt' spend a whole lot on food either. Had like two sit down dinners, and everything else we just bought in grocery stores and places like an am/pm. didn't wanna waste much time, cause we only had like 1 1/2 days.
  11. Pictures: Part 1 Part 2 well first off i have to thank everyone here who gave some insight as to what it would be like over there, or what to do. I would have been so lost with no idea of what to see Anyway i was pretty lucky to make it in the first place. (Flying standby) and i got the very last seat on the plane. pretty lucky considering the plane was full (over-sold by 5, and i was number 13 on the standby list)lol So we get into narita, and have a 1.5 hour bus ride into tokyo (shinjuku) where the hotel is. and guess what i saw on the way?? Devil Z! only thing was different were black bumpers, and no fender mirrors from what i could see....we only passed it for a couple seconds, and then we exited...couldn't get my camera in time Well I had a lot of fun, and i think my dad did too...he's a pretty good back-yard mechanic..but has never seen much in the way of performance cars or parts really... Tried to find Speed Shop Shinohara...but as i thought it doesn't exist anymore.. but the concierge at the hotel found me another tuner shop called speed shop turbo, which ended up being pretty cool. Tiny hole-in-the-wall shop, but looked like they knew what they were doing. The pictures tell most of the story. I have to say i was really blown away by how polite and proper a society it is there. Just little things like people standing on one side of the escalator to let others by really impressed me. The language barrier was kind of interesting..but not nearly as bad as i was anticipating. We managed just fine. Anyway enjoy!
  12. well i'm getting a pretty good list together. We're going to be getting in on a saturday night and leaving monday night. There is also a chance that we might be staying at the hotel by the airport in narita (which is around chiba from what i gather eh?). So if anyone knows of anything in chiba let me know too Thanks for all the help so far too! i really appreciate it. And any more ideas are definately welcome.
  13. keep your head down! take care, and thanks for your service!
  14. this is about the point i'd give the door a good solid kick. but...i'd only do that to the beater.
  15. it was back home just south of bellingham on a back-country road. Thought it was the road that intercepts the freeway. Was trying to get somewhere fairly quickly...so didn't really slow down until i realized the road stopped. I actually would have completely stopped...but i locked up the wheels and didn't even try to do anything about it....dunno why. and yes, i am verry thankful that the airdam and the grill was the only damage. (besides some scratches on one of the headlight buckets).
  16. yeah the road ended in a T, with a little ditch, and a field. lol and yeah, this is the same crash from back this summer.
  17. try it again....server was probably just overloaded.
  18. Just because It's dark and the middle of no where, and no cars around....and a road Looks like it keeps on going...$10 says the stop sign is there for a reason. Although i do think i fixed it up well enough, atleast for to put it back on the car. Good news is, this has given me a reason to do a 240z bumper conversion
  19. Just some more pictures I've been going through. Thought you might enjoy these. In NW Washington, for the second year in a row, a friend of mine (completely internet advertised) sets up a drive from Burlington to the top of Mt. Baker, through some really great mountian roads. First year they had about 75 cars go...this year the count was upwards of 140. From Lotus' to a couple GTR's, to a Saleen (didnt get to see it, only heard about it), lots and lots of 240sx's, STI's, couple RX-7's, etc. It was a great day, and although i didn't get too many pictures, if you want more i can link to the forums they are on. Anyway about two weeks before hand me and two friends took the same drive to see what it was like. Then here are some pictures i took from the big meet at the top of the mountian. ^^ Comparing our Daytona Blue Z cars ^^My car, Sil-eighty, R32 GTR, Vspec GTR, 350z ^^Fixed the front bumper. Didn't turn out too bad i don't think. Thanks for looking.
  20. Just came across these pictures, going through some stuff. Thought I'd share. The Airdam in the passenger seat is because of a previous argument with a ditch i lost about a week before... *stop signs apparently have a meaning....lol!* This is from the middle of August when i moved to Spokane, WA to start my flight school. So, who can top that?
  21. well i've had the same problem....usually the codder pin that holds the latching bar to the locking mechanism falls off and the whole thing just stops working... but since you can see everything working, i dunno what to tell you really. can you open it from the inside? best bet would be to take the panel off ad see whats up. Should only take about 30 mins.
  22. oops! haha my bad...a friend sent me that link at the same time i was posting this...must have mixed it up. Edited.
