Re: replacing bushings in the mustache bar: Today I bought a set of bushings from the Nissan dealer and had a shop press them into my 78 R200 mustache bar. By the way, my 78 R200 mustache bar has a slight upward twist to it. is that normal?
I have a 240z 350 and plan on replacing the R-180 with a R-200 (the 350 chewed up the R-180). It apears that the axle flanges are not compatable. Do I have to change the axles or is there some other alternative? Is there a way to determine what the gear ratios are for a given R-200 rearend?
I have a chance to buy a 72 240z with a 350 V8 and a broken saginaw 4 speed manual transmission. The 100R rearend is also broken. The car comes with an extra rebuilt saginaw transmission and I plan on replacing the 100R rearend with a 200R from a 280z. Question: is the saginaw a good choice for street use and what is required to replace the 100R with a 200R rearend? Do the half shafts have to be replaced or can the 240z halfshafts still be used?
