  1. I have a 89 Camaro T5 WC tranny and bell housing. The bell housing tilts the tranny towards the drivers side. Will installing the T5 with the Camaro bell housing work in a 72 240Z? Has anyone done the T5 and Camaro install in a 240Z? Any special tranny mount considerations? Also, I am thinking about using the Camaro slave cylinder if I use the Camaro bell housing.

    R200 Swap

    Thanks to your help at HybridZ I just completed swaping a R200 into a 72 Z. During installation we notice that the nose of the differential is skewed to the left/drivers side a few degrees. The R200 bolted in ok after wrestling with the mustache bar and tightening all of the mounting bolts. Has anyone seen this before and could it be a problem?
  3. I am having a problem installing a 78 r200 mustache bar in my 72 240Z. The bar is supposed to go behind the vertical transverse mounts with the mounting bushings facing forward. Problem is when I try to slip the bar inbetween the gas tank and the two vertical transverse mounts there is not enough space to move it into position so it will slide up onto the mustache bar mounting studs. it seems like I need to remove the rear transverse mount in order make room to slide the bar behind the vertical mounts and then onto the studs. what is the SOP for installing the mustache bar?

  5. Sanity check before we lug the R200 up the mustache bar. We installed a 78 R200 mustache bar with the mounting rings facing the front of our 72 240z. Is this the correct orientation of the mustache bar or should the rings of the 78 bar face the rear in a 72z? Please yes as it was a b--ch getting the bar installed.
  6. Why stock mounts? They were free. We are re-doing an old Scarab 350/240z conversion and plan on updating all of the bushings as we go through the car. What is the best source for the bushing kits? BTW is there any easy way to get at the driveline flange bolts?
  7. Re: replacing bushings in the mustache bar: Today I bought a set of bushings from the Nissan dealer and had a shop press them into my 78 R200 mustache bar. By the way, my 78 R200 mustache bar has a slight upward twist to it. is that normal?
  8. Will a T5 WC bolt up to a 81/82 camero bell housing which currently has a 4 spd Saginaw bolted to it? iam told that I need a 83 or later bell housing.
  9. I have a 240z 350 and plan on replacing the R-180 with a R-200 (the 350 chewed up the R-180). It apears that the axle flanges are not compatable. Do I have to change the axles or is there some other alternative? Is there a way to determine what the gear ratios are for a given R-200 rearend?
  10. I have a chance to buy a 72 240z with a 350 V8 and a broken saginaw 4 speed manual transmission. The 100R rearend is also broken. The car comes with an extra rebuilt saginaw transmission and I plan on replacing the 100R rearend with a 200R from a 280z. Question: is the saginaw a good choice for street use and what is required to replace the 100R with a 200R rearend? Do the half shafts have to be replaced or can the 240z halfshafts still be used?
  11. Anyone familiar with the MSA 240z conversion kit, cost and source information? Any JTR V8 conversions in the Sacramento area?
  12. Has does the Johns Cars Inc Z v8 conversion compare to the JTR conversion? Anyone out there who has done a Johns Cars conversion?
