  1. Thanks for the advice. I dont think the idea of the plastic will work, the old edge of the fender was cut away both because of rust, and to make room for larger wheels, so the old inserts wont be going back in. Right now i guess I'll Rust Bullet or POR everything, and then rhino the inside, unless there is some way to manufacture a liner to fit. I was kind of hoping to make a liner, but to be honest, I cant see how you could get the right shape in that oddly shaped area. Why do you say "rust bullet > POR" (I havent worked with either)
  2. I need some advice on what to do about my fender insert/liner on a 280ZX which is having flares added to it. Obviously, the standard liner wont reach all the way out to the edge of the flare. Is there some easy fix for this situation. The car is going to be a driver, so just leaving it without liners and only driving in nice weather isnt really an option. Right now I'm leaning toward just Rino-Lining the inside of the wheel area. Any tips, ideas, opinion's ???
  3. Working from home is great but a scary jump. I work from home with my own software development business. If you try it make sure you have insurance coverage (look into Health Savings Accounts). Depending on your state, income and tax status, look into incorporating. In any case, set it up as a legitimate business (licenses and all), without that many people look at self-employed as self-unemployed The best thing about working for yourself is that you only have to work half days ...... and you get to pick which twelve hours
  4. I like it, I really really like it. Is it a mustang ... not hardly. They ought to change some of the few remaining mustang lines, and market it as something else altogether.
  5. Nikon is awesome for high end, but I'm happy with my FinePix 5100 digital zoom = cropping (nothing more) optical zoom is always better. check what type of batteries / charger (finepix goes a long time on plain AA's) check what it's going to co$t to add on .. (lenses, etc...) figure out how often you're going to use it and price accordingly
  6. Ah, but they're getting craftier, the cartridges that come with the printer have a 1/2 - 1/4 load of ink. The the alcohol / water ideas are both good. A makeup sponge with peroxide helps too.

  8. If youre pretty sure it went into the oil pan, just pour the oil down in after it with your drain plug out. with any luck you'd be able to wash it out. If you have a long funnel or hose, all the better to keep the force of the oil up till it gets to the pan. If it doesnt wash out, take your broken pen magnet and fish around the drain plug, maybe you'll be lucky and it'll be close by.
  9. BigJim, why wouldnt you ever install a set again ?? 260Det, the other thing I was thinking about was plain flare up front, and full blend in the back.
  10. To tell you the truth, I had never considered a blended front, and smaller radius joint in the back. Does anybody have a link to anything done like that. I may have to try that on the other fender to see how it looks. The guys in the body shop are gonna have to put up with me some more I was hoping that with the rear blended, it would exagerate the length of the car as well as the front wheel size. BTW, I edited out the tack welds in the pictures to get a better idea of how it would look
  11. I got the Black Dragon flares tacked in place, and realized I wanted something a little more dramatic. What I'm thinking about doing is leaving the joint where the front half of the flare attaches to the fender with a small radius, as you go around to the back of the flare, smooth it out into the body. I stopped by the body shop to mock it up, opinion there was about 50-50, half liked the flares alone, half liked it blended Whaddya think ? ... (The camera really doesnt pick up the smoothness, and it was just a quick coat of primer)
  12. Are those the Black Dragon flares, and the MSA body kit ??? ... And a pantera rear .... Looks exactly like what I'm going for
  13. Very Nice ! Can I borrow that rock when you're done, my e-brake doesnt work either
  14. You might want to ask yourself... If it warps, cracks, chips, breaks down ... what are the pieces going to get sucked into.
  15. I think it's the torpedo tube doors that do it
  16. Use the search feature ... I dont say this to sound snobby or anything, but I dont remember exactly. Something (in whats left of my mind) tells me that it's 4 x 4.5 (4 x 114.3). You might also try a search at zcar.com.
  17. My personal favorite http://www.centerlinewheels.com
  18. I may sound like an idiot but .... Do you need to run a booster with a setup like the reverse mounted pedals ? I've never been quite sure about that
  19. Do you really need to see the needle. I mean really ... do ya'
  20. It's quite real and has been featured on a number of mainstream news and science shows as well as the Wall Street Journal earlier this year. http://www.moller.com/ The site has video's and further specs. They are Nasdaq listed I dont mean to sound like a zealot, but I've been watching (and invested in) these folks for a while, and to quote Avery Brooks in the recent IBM commercial "I Want My Flying Car !"
  21. Defragmenting... Imagine somebody has taken all of the files in your fileroom out of their cabinets and left them all around the room. Your job is to put them all nice and neatly in the file cabinets filling one cabinet at a time leaving some cabinets completely empty to be filled later. To describe what SuperDan is talking about, imagine people are removing files, bringing in files you didnt have originally, adding new files, and changing files while you're trying to tidy it all up. The write caching he's talking about is analogous to you quitting at 5:00 and people can keep messing up the files all evening after you've left.
  22. I say this as an "expert" myself , but wouldnt you expect experts all to have the same answer ? If you're expecting the second partition to be protected from anything malicious on the first partition, it's going to depend on wether or not a drive on the second partition is visible to the first. If your first partition has your C drive and your second partition has your D drive, all malware or a virus has to do is look for any drive letters available in your system. The answer depends on the types of partitions, wether they're boot partitions or not, and how drives are set up on each partition. More information than you've provided I'm afraid
  23. Ummm I'm not seeing any of the pics in either Firefox or IE ???
  24. Yes, side pics please ! I'm getting ready to get rid of the quarter windows and put in vents. It would be nice to see one already done
