  1. LMAO, it took about 30 seconds, (it's a monday) but thats a good one
  2. Have you considered a welder and some sheet metal instead ?
  3. Upgrade your bios too, Compaq/HP made some significant improvements in cpu/bus utilization. But definately increase your memory as well
  4. I had a 63 (two 63's actually) with pushbutton transmissions. It wouldnt start if the neutral lever wasnt slid down, also the pushbutton system was a bakelite (before plastic) vaccum box with hoses, as soon as a nipple breaks or a hose cracks you start having problems. They're beautiful cars no matter what anyone says
  5. I had always wanted a Z, and then one day I see a nice ZX for sale on the side of the road. I pass by it, next day, I slow down and take a better look, next day I stop to look and put the phone number in the phone, next day I approach the wife about the idea, next day we both look at it. So it's been a week, approval has been obtained, and I decide to call up and buy it, the call goes like this... Ring... "Hi Ray" (in a familiar voice) "Mike ?" (my brother in law) "Yeah" "Sorry, I hit the wrong number in my phone" Ring... "Yeah, you hit the wrong number again" "Sorry" Ring... after dialing the number manually "Dude, you need to get a better phone" "Ummm, you dont happen to be selling a white ZX are you ???" He had had it for almost a year, and never even mentioned it to me. Scored it with the family discount pricing.

    Lol!

I saw one of those in Newport black-on-black with black leather inside, and tinted windows. I want one http://www.smartusa.com
  7. A friend of mine had the same thing happen. After getting upset he went down and spent $15 to get a permit for a shed on his property, and then proceeded to build a 2x4 frame around the car and put some siding on it. The car never moved. While he was doing it, the code enforcement folks came out again, this time followed by the annoyed neighbor (everybodys got one it seems). He showed them the permit for the shed, they laughed, admired the car, and went on their merry way. The annoyed neighbor remained annoyed.
  8. I think that's the definition of a problem. The solenoid can click, but still not be working.
  9. I'm pretty sure you can only do a lien action on a title if you are a lien holder listed on the original title, otherwise you could use that to get anyone's title.
  10. The best vanity tags I ever saw were on a car from Virginia ... 'VANITY'
  11. First of all, you're dad is a smart guy. Your only real choice is to wait until you have the title, until then, you don't have a car. It sux when you're so anxious to get started, but it'd be worse if you poured money/time into fixing it only to find out that your friends - friends - friends - dad is actually who owns the car and he aint selling. Bug them every day, and only exchange your money for the car AND title. If you're not the owner, the only thing you can do is to get the application for a title transfer, or and application for a new/lost title, but the owner is the one who has to fill it all in. It sounds like this is what you've already done.
  12. Sorry I cant help you. I think it looks great the way it is.
  13. I'm sorry .. what were you saying .. ?
  14. If you whine and moan about how unfair it is, the judge will probably enforce the ticket. If you say you had it in another part of the car, and "sorry for the inconvenience" it'll probably get tossed. In other words, put on you happy face.
  15. That is so very cool, but I bet you wouldn't make many friends getting out in a driving rain or snow storm.
  16. Here I must strongly disagree. If the speed limit is 50 MPH, and I'm driving at 75 MPH, I'm using any particular point of the roadway for 50% less time than the "legal" drivers, thus saving the state money. Thats my story, and I'm sticking to it
  17. I'm customizing my ZX, adding flares, replacing the entire taillight panel, body kit, etc. One think I need to do is to replace the marker lights. I absolutely hate the bulging rectangular stock lights and want to go with something that mounts more or less flush with the car. My original thoughts were to mount them into the MSA body kit, but that'll put them below the required 18 inches off the ground. I'm looking for suggestions on donor vehicles. Most of whats out there these days wrap the tail lights around the corners of the car covering both brake lights and marker lights in one, I need separate lights. I've seen some on a hyundai, or ford focus, any other suggestions ? Something with style or a cool shape would be nice.
  18. Hmmm but what if you had 6 of 'em, one for each cylinder ?
  19. I normally don't like ZG flares, but those look really nice
  20. The flares are from black dragon and took some modification, the body kit is MSA type 2. I'm going to put vented screen panels in, so the back wont be windows. The vents are deep enough so I can mount lipstick cameras in the front lip looking back, so I can see in that huge blind spot.
  21. Well, it's been in the shop for a year now, and it'll probably be another to finish the body, paint, engine, etc. But it's starting to come together and I cant wait. When I'm done I think it'll be hard for the common passer-by to figure out what it is.
  22. On the bright side, you could put a trailer hitch on it and have a beefy tow vehicle
  23. Go through the insurance company. If you're worried about the premiums going up because you files with them, they could just as easily go up because you paid (admitted fault) the damages. Like others have said, let your insurance company fight with theirs.
  24. You forgot, buying a bunch of parts (in advance) for your project that are still lying around months/years after you decided to take it in a different direction.
