  1. I was just in Rehoboth MA a little while ago too
  2. I'm trying to modify mine to be the car I imagined when I first saw one. It'll be mostly show with purty looks, but a mild 350 should give it the noise too. I'd be really interested in any crazy suspension or front-end mods, especially anything that will let me use easier to find parts
  3. I haven't yet, but it's on the list, and hopefully it'll be this winter. I've been looking for anybody here who has used it as well.
  4. Now why cant mechanics I deal with be at least half that attentive
  5. I'm going with three late 60's corvette lights with after-market bubble lens covers. They're frenched in, but the bubble brings it back above the surface of the rear. Thats the owner of the shop, and one of the guys, I'm the one cleverly hidden behind the windshield post.
  6. I grow a small field of hot peppers (habanero, tobasco, serrano) for making hot sauces, seeds for growing, and for drying. If I'm working with those and have to go to the bathroom, I'd rather just wet my pants, it's not worth taking the chance
  7. *!##^& just drooled all over my keyboard.
  8. I haven't tried it (plan to) but this looks pretty interesting http://www.lizardskin.com
  9. Activision ... ahh those were the days
  10. If you're looking for a definitive answer, I'm not your guy. I'm just looking at what makes sense to me. The deflection of the spring to one side would be very minor, but if you look at how quickly and how often they compress and expand, the cumulative effect would have to lead to some wear
  11. One thing that could be a factor ... A coiled spring is always going to have an angle of deflection when it expands because there is always one point with just a little more expansion. Take this spring |/////| The upper edge having more "coil" would have just a little more spring than the bottom edge (overblown example of course). Even if you try to wind it so that the coils begin and end at the same point around the diameter theres always going to be some point with just a little more "spring". When it expands it will push away from the point with the most spring.
  12. Just think of it as money saved when the Sox win
  13. Wow, really nice. One bit at the end I saw the green one slipping out of frame, and I thought that was your only mistake, but then the red one slipped in ... nice dramatic effect. It's nice to see somebody do editing without trying to put every effect possible in the mix.
  14. Do yourself a favor, and take a look at some conversion vans as well. Look down the road a little when your son is older and has a little bro/sis. The extra room can make those family trips so much more comfortable. I've had a couple minivans and thought they were nice till I got the conversion van.
  15. People who, when having an upset stomach say: "I feel nauseous" -- when it should be I feel nauseated. if you're nauseous then your making other people sick (hmmm I guess in a way they're right). People who say they're going to the ATM machine (duh' theres an 'M' in there)
  16. Well either one of the shots is photoshopped, or they managed to put it on the EXACT same point on the floor
  17. These are the steel flares from Black Dragon, this is with a little coaxing and modification, but they were pretty good to start with. Not 5-6 inches, more like 3-4
  18. First, I'm glad everyone was ok. But... Did they even try to just open the doors. both of them look undamaged. It looks as though they just went in chopping.
  19. The flares are metal (black dragon) and welded to the quarters, if you look real close you can see the little welds holding it in place. The bumper and rocker panels are the MSA kit and a hard, but still flexible, plastic. They're bonded with marglass. ... and I cant wait to fill those flares out
  20. Still beats my idea of lining the wall with florists foam and slowly backing into it . No, not my Camaro, some nice stuff in the shop though. [showing my full ignorance here] So the gelcoat acts as a release agent stopping the fiberglass from sticking to the car, and when the fiberglass hardens then I have a mold. .. When I want to make another rear, I would gelcoat the mold and apply fiberglass to create the duplicate ? What is the consistency of gelcoat, it would seem to me that if it were thick enough to stop the fiberglass from sticking then it would alter the mold, or is it one of those weird chemical things I should have paid attention to in school ?
  21. Doesn't masking the area in plastic wrap introduce wrinkles into the mold that you're making. How long would a mold like that last both in length of time and number of uses ? I'm not critiquing your suggestion at all, I've just never quite understood the steps for doing something like this.
  22. I having fun modifying the heck out of my 280zx, and I'm really happy with how the tail has come out. I've got it set up to hold 60's style corvette tail lights and recessed license. What I'd like to do now is to make a mold of the back end just in case anybody else wants to do the same, or (heaven forbid) something ever happens to it. I assume I want to get it as smoothed out as possible, but after that, then what ? What is the process for creating a mold ?
  23. You really should contact ebay customer support and let them know about this guy, it looks like he posts the same type of comments about everyone. Dont tell ebay what to do, just suggest that they have somebody look at this user, they're usually pretty good about getting the crappy ones off in situations like that.
  24. I have just the device you're speaking of. It's called a wife, I just put it within 50 feet of a vehicle I'm looking at, and I know instantly if I'm getting it or not. So far it's been 100% reliable.
  25. ... Dood, I sealed the trunk and added aero lights, it gave me like another 20 HP
