  1. Congrats to Sam....and good luck too! A truly beautiful engine! Wish I had the funds to buy it. Good luck with the RB swap. Yasin
  2. I'm with lilj....ZX parts please...heck I'll take a hood! Yasin
  3. I had mine lightened from around 23lbs to just under 18lbs. My local machinist was not comfortable cutting any more material out of the flywheel and he took alot of time to explain why. I had it then re-blanced and it has been simply awesome. I wish I could get it down to around 16lbs but you would be getting close to the point of sacrificing the overall integrity. Also its a comfort zone thing with most machinists. I can post pics if you like. The smaller 225mm can be lightened quite a bit more than the bigger 240mm flyywheels. Regards - Yasin
  4. Wow...that is neat! Thanks for the link. Regards - Yasin
  5. Looks great bro!! Nice and clean... I am sure you must be anxious to get truckin' with the install. Good luck. Yasin
  6. Guys - I did some extensive checking today and Autometer makes a Restrictor its from -4 to 18NPT and has a .025 restriction which is way too small, but it can be drilled out to 0.080 with no probs. This is what I have decided, I completed removed the stock oil sender unit that treads in the block. I will buy a steel tee and then fill the inlet with weld and then drill it out with an 0.080 drill but at my friend's machine shop. One leg of the TEE will go to the Turbo the other to my new Autometer pressure gauge. Also...I am going to do away with the banjo fitting at the Turbo BUT re-use the stock bolt. I am going to drill the top of the 12mm banjo bolt (where the hex is) and weld a steel -4 adapter to it and then KAZAM...I have my connection for my -4 braided line! Easy... good thing we have lunch breaks, the ideas only came to me then. Pics to come soon. Regards - Yasin
  7. Wow...now that's unique! Have nexer seen a ST204--->ST205 conversion here in the U.S Great looking car with awesome potential. Worth every bit of $12Grand. I have a friend with a ST185 (same engine but the older body style) and its a pain in the ass to work on for sure! Yasin
  8. Both great cars simply put. The Z is handsome from every angle and revolutionized the Sports Car industry and handed the Europeans (especially the British) their asses on a burning skillet. The 2000GT is probably THE most valueable Japanese car that can be bought today. It has unusual and extremely exotic lines which is breathtaking and grows on you. I love them and would donat a few organs to have one! I think because it is so rare that its appeal to me is in an "infatuation" categroy. Simply put....the Z is like that cute neighborhood girl from around the corner. She says "hi" makes you feel like a million bucks, flutters the eyelids and smiles and can actually hold a conversation. The 2000GT is the Hollywood actress temptress that we drool over and want to be with, but will never happen, so there is a fantasize component here. You see her pretenious ass on the street and she looks at you like you do not exist, but you don't care...because you actually saw her! Okay enough of the novel.... Yasin
  9. Thanks for the feedback guys, So are you saying that a -4 line is too large? I will look into the restrictor, that's not the first time I have heard that it is good to run with one. I will check Jeff's website. Jersey - I will be installing an Autometer Oil Pressure gauge, so I will not need the stock sending unit. Kenny - Where did you get your 12mm (x1.25) to -4 adapter? That's exactly the same det-up I am shooting for, also are you running a restrictor with your -4 line and how long have you had your new -4 line installed - any probs issues with the oil seal in the turbo? Regards - Yasin
  10. The key is to remove the factory casting grain marks - the little acne, dots. Like Drax said...this takes time like there is no tomorrow - literally! But once the prep is done (the most imp. part of polishing) its all down hill. Yasin
  11. YOWZA!! I thought there was a factory re-call on those human eating turbos... Yasin
  12. Hi Gang - I decided to upgrade the stock straw sized turbo oil feed line. I will be running a No.4 size braided steel line with a TEE at the block for my oil pressure gauge. I have a few questions: 1) Is this part with red arrow pointing to it just the sensor that tells the red light on the stock gauge that oil pressure is low? If so, then I am removing it... 2) At the turbo end, this oil feed line has a Banjo nut that is 12x1.25, I am having a HARD time getting an Earls or Aeroquip adapter to takes its place. Basically I want to substitute this: with this: and then have a swivel hose end like this: I even looked at an Aeroquip or Earls Banjo fitting as an alternative and the largest size bolt they can accomodate is a 10mm -So I am stuck!- I am open to ideas, please let me know what you guys have done. Thanks and regards - Yasin
  13. The loser at the end smokin' pop's stogie is the best "I didn't do nothing...." http://boston.mirror-image.com/newsvideo/wvx/video.wvx?middle=072104_vws_worcester.wmv Enjoy! Yasin
  14. Afshins' beautiful quick machine rockin' a 944 Turbo's world. One word "Delicious" Enjoy - Yasin
  15. Anyone need a new Vortec for their Hybrid? Yasin
  16. Wow - That was incredible and sheer beautiful! Much respect to the builder owner! BUT....did you see the plain jane red Volvo 244GL with four black steel rims run a 12.5ET against the Manta! Now that impressed me too. Great video and nice find. Yasin
  17. LOL....Cody that is my impact gun in the background....funny it does look like its part of the pan! Nice catch. Yasin
  18. 25.4mm = 1.0" There are lots of Supra running some monster pipes, the largest I have seen is a genuine all Titanium Veilside 100mm OD (just under 4"). Yasin
  19. HA got the biatch out.... Total removal time - approx. 6-7hours! Probably the most curse filled job I have done on my ZXT in the four years of ownership. Hope the new gasket lasts another 22years. Here you can see how I bent the corner in trying to get it out, man was it welded to the block in spots! Okay next....sand blast it, clean it, straighten out the bent corner, weld a bung for my new Autometer Oil Temp gauge and paint it. Thanks for all who had great suggestions for the removal. More to come gang - Yasin
  20. ZXTMan - Wow thanks for the replyand the idea....I am definately going to try that tomorrow (got home too late today). Funny you mention that, as I was thinking (as I was under the car), if the front of the engine was high enough, that could probably creat enough room to get that damn pan off. Afshin - Yup....that was me you heard curing a few thousand miles away. Okay cross your fingers and toes for me guys, and hopefully when I jump back on tomorrow evening to report in I will have an Oil Pan in my hands! Best regards and many thanks - Yasin
  21. I would buy one right now if it was ready...as I am taking out my oil pan anyway! Yasin
  22. Well I got home all motivated after talking to Afshin this afternoon and I decided what the heck I will remove the tranny and SHAZAM.....I would have an oil pan in my hands in no time - WRONG! First I removed the shifter Second I removed the drive shaft.....get lots of tranny oil in my hair and down my neck in the process...YUM! Third I removed the entire exhaust from the downpipe all the way to the cat. Fourth loosen and remove all the tranny bolts Fifth remove the tranny X-Member Sixth STILL can't get the oil pan out because the dang flex plate, clutch and flywheel is in the way. Seventh tranny is loose and moved back a few inches but after wiggling it for about twenty or so minutes it is stuck on the splines and I cannot get it free and I said to hell with it!!! This happened to me before with a toyota tranny and I had to put both feet on either side of the bellhousing and push back (almost like I was in the "giving birth" position) and then low and behold the dang tranny fell on my foot and I could not walk properly for over a week, permanent scar too. So I am so far into this thing, that I figure I will just remove the tranny tomorrow, FLYWHEEL and CLUTCH and then the oil pan should come free.... Why oh why do the automotive gods not shine down on me?? Next time (hopefully there isn't a next time) I lifting the engine up and dropping the damn x-member. A pissed off and frustrated - Yasin
  23. Hi John - I have an '83 ZXT and have owned it for 4years now, in dealing with fuel injected ZXs, I have never heard of the O2 sensor light coming on at any type of interval whatsoever. Furthermore I do not see how an IC or new exhaust install can throw the sensor light. For resetting the light, have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then re-connecting? There are some other great ZXT owners (Afshin, Cody) on here that can also add some additional comments. Hope that helps - Yasin
