Z31 seats have the air bladder. Here is my old RWD Supercharged Corolla GT-S (AE86) with 1986 Supra seats, which by the way were voted the best factory seat in any available car by Car and Driver back then. These seats are considered orthopedic and you can inflate the air bladder on your spinal chord and adjust it for your lower, middle and upper back - sexxxy!!: Here are set of '86 Z31 Turbo seats in my '83 ZXT: Regards- Yasin

Turbo timer ruins starter/beware Japandy Ebay seller!
slownrusty replied to a topic in Miscellaneous Tech
Japandy has got a bad rap on some of the the Toyota boards I visit. Alot of people complain he is a military dude trying to make a quick buck while being in Japan and recognizing that we are not able to get some rare parts here in the US. He has come across some very rare and desirable parts, so I am sure he is making some cool bucks selling them to us enthusiasts here! That's the world of eBay I guess. In summer of 2001 I bought a Greddy T-Timer for my ZXT and the correct harness which I paid extra for, designed specifically for the ZXT and when I switched the car off, the T-Timer would engage the starter! Almost like trying the start the car with it already running - an awful sounds as we all know! I double, triple checked everything and the Greddy T-Timer harness only fits one way into the factory harness. Needless to say I also ruined a starter and several teeth on the ring gear. I called and yelled at the Greddy dealer many times, and they kept saying it was my fault! One day, I got so mad at them, my wife (girlfriend at the time) thought I was going to get on a plane fly out to LA and bring home some scalps! No surprisingly I asked if Greddy would replace my ruined starter and my flywheel and they said "no way in hell", even if they would cover the parts cost and I would cover the labor portion. Anyway the authorized dealer finally said to send in the Greddy harness and the T-Timer back to them, and Greddy tested it and actually discovered that the harness was faulty - HA! I then got a new T-Timer and harness in about three weeks. Luckily a starter on a Z in easy to replace, the flywheel well is a little more involved! Thought I would share that. Good luck and I hope you find your problem gremlin. Yasin -
Hmmmm...nice....looks like it has the potential to be a power house! Yasin

I agree. James Chen owner of the 350Z AND Axxis wheels has deep pockets and I feel that the Ultimate Street Car Challenge should be about the backyard, shady tree enthusiasts along the lines of the Grassroots Motorsports $2003 challenge. James even said that if he did not win this year he was going to enter his $400,000 Supercharged Bently next year. I think its cool to see a high end car and something new being thrashed around the track but to me the real praise go to the DIY guys you know the "I've got a mortgage and groceries to buy" kind of guys. I guess I consider myself this type of enthusiast, a hands on, build it on a budget type. Heck that 350Z is proabbly a tax right off for James!! Anyway, I would have loved to see Troy Tuleo's MR2 come in the top three and not suffer a head gasket failure, they pulled it to 9,800rpm on the dyno and Troy says he has pulled the car to 11,000 before!!! The cars this year were pretty good, but only the MR2 really stood out for me. I have bought the videos for the previous two years but I am unsure if to buy this year's video. With the Skyline also DNF that kinda sucks. This years cars to me were the same old same old Supra TTs, A scarry Viper, a few steroidal DSMs etc etc. I loved last year with the 13B Turbo 510 and the previous year with Tod Kaneko's 13B Turbo 510 as well. I would love to see a 240Z-280ZX or even a Z31 Turbo, and some other old skool cars (older SuprasCelicas, Gen1 RX7, SR20 S13s etc etc) Oh well, sorry for the rant and rave. Yasin

I am running the Walboro GSL392 external pump, its the external version of their popular 255lph model. Good for 600hp. Do a search under the "Turbo Supercharger" section and go back a few weeks, I did a decent write up of installing this pump on my L28ET. Hope that helps! Glad to see the 7M is alive and kicking and ready to pounce!! Yasin

The RX7 GSL-SE was a 130hp car. I cannot see the gains of using that fuel pump on a L28ET. I would say your best bet (best bang for the buck) is probably the MSD external fuel pump. A few guys on here are running one and getting great results from them. Jim Wolf also recommends this MSD pump as well. I just upgraded to the Walboro 255lph pump and did a decent write up, do a search under the "Turbo & Supercharger" section. Hope the helps - Yasin

Looks like he is drawing the boost through Webers or SolexMikunis. Pretty wild set-up, very in your face George Barris style. The car would look pretty sick without the silly side pipes, the black too wide steel wheels and the monkey bars climbing frame over the rear wheels. Yasin

Drewz - I have imported 5 cars from Canada in past three years and everything went extremely smooth, so long as you have all your paperwork and your check list. It was nerving at first as I heard all the horror stories, but after the second or third time, it was a breeze. I can post how to do it properly legally is anyone is interested. Regards - Yasin

Yuk...so is that thing sponored by APC. I would like to think I own a sport truck.....and I drive it aggressively when I get a stretch of open road. Handles excellent and has been to the road course track many times. Engine is the ultra rare DR30 Skyline FJ20 bored to 2.2L imported brand new from Japan, massive Nismo cams, big compression, Mikunis etc etc, even has the NISMO Silvia close ratio tranny. Truck is putting down approx 225hp and pulls clean to 7grand. Took 6years to build it and was my very first project vehicle, it has now been in three magazines. At the first show attended: Yasin

Mike - 505whp and 526lbs!!!! GASP! That's disgusting.....and incredible. Wonder how much $$$ is invested in it and if the block and head are still all stock. I would be happy with half those numbers....WOW, I am still quivering... Yasin

slownrusty replied to DattoZG's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Bad ass ride bro. Skyline KPGC110 aka Hakosuka SO what do I win? I am not sure if you owned this car in 2002, but I photgraphed the car extensively at the MSA Z show in Orange. Looked like it had a turbo engine (L28ET I am guessing) when it was originally in Japan? Either way an amazing car! Keep it safe, parts are not exactly Autozone available. Yasin -
Austin.....Bump! Hope to hear back from you on the SDS install, tips and tricks. Thanks in advance. Yasin

What's the Highest Ticket You've Gotten Away With?
slownrusty replied to zeeboost's topic in Non Tech Board
On Thanksgiving day a couple of years ago, it wa sa beautiful, warm, sunny Colorado day. I got pulled over for doing 90mp/h in a 30mp/h zone (I was also in 3rd gear and had two more to go!!). The cop was completely (had ever right to be) p!ssed off with me. I shut the car down right away and pulled over. His first thing to me, was "I heard you, way before I even saw you" The he says "Thats a quick little car you have there" I stayed very calm and respectful while he read me the riot act. As it turned out my insurance was expired (had the new on on the kitchen table at home!!) and he decided he was going to impound my car and pull me license temporarily. He was getting ready to write me for a ticket that was $30 for ever mile I was over the speed limit. That equates to $600 and that was without the expired insurance fine and the wreckless he was going to charge me with as well. I figured by the time it was said and done, incl. getting my car out of the impound I would be spending a solid $1G. As he was writing up the ticket, he asked me to remove my sunglasses and kept looking at me and then says: "Don't I know you from somewhere???" Then I realized I had hired (6months prior) this same cop to work a bunch of extra duty after hours (overtime) for me for a construction project I was managing. He had helped me alot with the traffic management and re-routing and made some major $$$ in overtime. Shortly after this discovery. He ripped up the tickets, cancelled the flat bed truck that was en route, told me to slow the hell down and enjoy the rest of my Thanksgiving. Trust me I had alot ot "Give Thanks For" on that day!! Here was the car (my fierce old supercharged rear wheel drive Corolla GT-S AE86, running 14psi and lots of neat tricks). It used to get me in trouble regularly, now sold and definately missed. Take A Look At This Z

Beautiful can and craftmanship all around! Says the wheels were made in Argentina in the '70s and weigh 11lbs each! They look VERY rare and unique. Yasin -
toy'ed with a turbo Z at school today, dyno too.

17-18psi of boost.....better make sure your EGTs are not getting into the dangerous zone. That's alot of boost for stock injectors. I have the exact set-up on my ZXT (TurboXS MBC, NPR IC, 60mm TB etc etc) and at 7psi my plugs were starting to look bleached. Sounds like fun either way! I hope you humbe that Trans Am Yasin -

So is the equation: 1.5 x KA24DE = New DOHC 24V L6 head??? If so, would be very interested to hear the details. Yasin
