Garrett - De Ja Vu...LOL...the two blocks in the backgroung look menacing...in your shot though! Olie - I am going to unbolt the cam holders and then place the cam and button-up afterwards V8260 - The intake was had fabbed by JamieT on this board and it is a beautiful piece...automotive jewellery and the fuel rail is made by JSK (who sadly is no longer in the Z business). Thanks Bill And Thanks Jamie...the wait was worth it...I love the intake. J - Yes that is the SFP header! I was one of the guys on the same group buy from what...4 ago...thats how long that thing has been sitting in a box in my garage! Dave - Thanks bro...your car lives on....! -
Guys - With my engine half torn out I was looking at my Isuzu NPR IC and was wondering if you think it needs upgrading? The core dimensions are 17" wide x 14" deep (tall) x 2" thick. The IC has 2" inlets and outlets and it is a tube and fin IC I believe it is the mid size NPR IC model and fits beautifully in the nose of my Z The car will never see more than 350whp (400 at most!) So do you think I am fine? Feedback welcomed. Here is what it looks like: Yasin

After 12+ years of crappy garages...I get my dream garage! Pic
slownrusty replied to slownrusty's topic in Non Tech Board
Thanks for all the comments and feedback guys! Alex - The car has the B6T it is essentially a Turbocharged Miata motor. I have upgraded it to 14psi, larger fuel pump, 2.5" exhaust, re-programmed ECU, fully poly bushings on the suspensions, Tokicos all the way round with Pedders lowering springs. Corbeau seats too anf the Rota wheels. Car weights 2250lbs and I am figuring its about 180ish hp....its fun! My goal is to eventually put down 200whp. Regards - Yasin -

will cutting on the strut tower be a bad idea?
slownrusty replied to a topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
So Mike you bought that header? I called that guy and spoke with him at length about it and decided that I wanted to make the parts fit the car, not the car fit the parts. Beautiful piece...though! Yasin -
Anybody seen this before? L series fuel management ECU?

Another "add-on" trick the ECU box...I say stay away... Yasin -

Good eyes Olie! It was an original 2 car and then the previous owner added the extra two car onto it. He was a trim carpenter and needed the room, its cool as he retained both garage doors. Yasin -
Mike that is a VERY broad range....WOW! A real mix of cars. For Porsche you did not clarify which model...if you can afford the Turbo...well its a beast and 600hp can be extracted with no issues to the motor whatsoever. The CLK55 I have driven extensively and its a 0-60mp/h in 4.9sec with the Auto (which is the only tranny choice). If you want a car that says looks at me the Viper is the natural choice and is also pure brute. If you need a 4 seater that limits your choice too. This is a nice poisition to be in...! Yasin

Well I recently moved and I am in heavan (I think my bank is too..I see the enxt 30years flash infront of me!)...I have had some crappy garages to work in over the past years and when I lived in Toronto, I used to do oil changes etc outside on the snow in the middle of winter on my back as I did not even have a garage.... I saved and saved and just bought this older home and it has a very private 4 car garage all finished, it has AC and heated, full cabinets and cupboards (tons of storage) and a full bathroom and cable TV as well! My friends say that I should live in the garage and rent out the house...LOL...! So my Turbo ZX project is starting tomorrow in it...should be a nice change working with actual space to work in... Thought I would share! Its still messy from the move... Yasin

I wonder what his reserve is set at?

I want that car.....BADLY! It would be interesting to see what a car like that would bring at Barrett Jackson, where people have more money than sense.

I just bought a $hitload of brochures from Lachlan..looks like he is getting some awesome rare literature! I can't wait to see more pics of the car....I think it will look awesome...a definite diamond, too many people are hooked on the older Skylines models..granted they do look simply incredible. Its like the Toyota Corollas...everyone only seems to focus on the AE86. Yasin

Great stuff Mike...congrats...I know this can be VERY stressful! Yasin

How Do You Calculate \ Determine Lash Pad \ Cap Thickness?
slownrusty replied to slownrusty's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
Jon - Your response is exactly what Web and Paul at Nissan Motorsports said to me, the only way to know for sure is the "wipe pattern" (makes me feel like I'm in the toilet...LOL!)..there are too many variables to have a "one size shoe fits all" scenario.. Yasin -
How Do You Calculate \ Determine Lash Pad \ Cap Thickness?
slownrusty replied to slownrusty's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
Thanks for the links and tips guys...I will definitely follow them...in the mean time can you please give me a good range of pads to buy for the mock-up like say 5 of this thickness, 3 of that thickness and 4 of this thickness...that should be get well on the way. Many thanks - Yasin -
Guys – Please do not feel like I am getting greedy! But I have decided to swap the cam in my upcoming Turbo upgrade project. I called Webcams (spoke to a very friendly Debbie) and based on the recommendation by them they have an AWESOME turbo grind…but I need to figure out the lash pads cap thickness that I have to buy from Nissan Motorsports, as the base circle on the Web cam is less than the stock cam.. I also called Nissan Motorsports spoke to Paul (who was helpful) and for selecting the lash pad caps I just cannot read off the Web cam card specs, as they guarantee that a few valves might end up being out of range. I feel that the cam might be a true ingredient in unleashing some more power and also widening the power band…..so I would really love to pursue this and know I can do it, with some assistance from you guys who have been down this road. So my question to you guys is how (what is the procedure) do I actually measure and calculate the lash pad cap thickness that is required to run with the new aftermarket cam? I understand that it could be a mix of different caps pads thicknesses as well? Many thanks in advance. Regards - Yasin

510six - thanks for the cam info..I will contact Web. How do I know what thickness lash pad to specify -or- will the Web Techs know? I asked before on if the bottom end will hold out and many people have said that they are strong enough to last...cross fingers. Cody - I will initally set-up the Haltech but eventually tune it on a dyno. Yasin -

Thanks for the replies and support guys. I will happily take 350-370....!!! Mikey - Can you please list the set-up on the Pinks car again? BRAAP - I am going to do a little cleaning up and add a little "show" look to the final install, but for the most part it will stay looking as per my pics - purposeful. I am going to add one of my known "polished" slowNrusty valve covers and might do the intake as well. And yes the whole motivation behind the project is "BIG"...LOL! Olie - the hole in the 5th runner is for an EGT B_sosick - the header was made by South Florida Performance (SFP), I was part of a group by on this manifold about 4years ago - that's how long that thing has been sitting in a box! SFP has now gone bankrupt or dissolved (I believe) and there was 6 or 7 of us that actually went in on this group buy, some members are on here (JeffP incl.). The header has some fitment issues that I have to still sort out, but should not be to bad. Ivan and Thumper - thanks! What cam do you guys recommend, that I can just "bolt in" and not have to worry about valve to piston clearances and offer some lift to keep those valve open longer? Keep the replies coming guys!
