There is an awesome V4 engine conversion kit available from APC just have to watch the torque steer.

Brian - Yes the car is '67.5 U20 car. The owner of the car used to be on this board and Zcar.com as he had a very nice 280ZXT as well (sold on eBay). He is a great guy, very meticulous and has spent alot of $$$ to make the car perfect. I'm talking sealing rubbers, trim, leather re-done on dash...each visible bolt has been hand polished...yes it will be worth some bucks when finished! I tried to convince up and down to do a SR20DET swap into it, but he has recently rebuilt the U20 and had the SUs all rebuilt, brand new linkage etc etc so it was not justifiable. Car should be up and running in about a month or so and I am going to help with the big items and be on "stand-by" so to speak. I love the FJ and had a trick FJ22 hybrid in my old Datsun truck with 304 dur Nismo cams...at 4000rpm coming on the cam the engine was AWESOME! A sound that would make Enzo Ferrari proud! I have gone to the Solvang Roaster show with my good friends Brian Holloway and Mike Spreadbury who both Roadster deep in their blood and its great to see these cars being restored and maintained and in many cases nicely hopped-up. Mike is now making SR20DET conversion kits, I believe, he lives and breathes them and is very passionate about them. More to come Yasin

2+ years later its coming together...went over there today to help him mount the dash and windshield....its going to be a sweetie! With it being so dark in the garage, the color of the car cannot be appreciated! Yasin

I love old Toyotas, just like old Datsuns they have this wonderful charm...if I see an old beater going peg legged down the road they still bring a smile to my face. Probably as I loved these cars growing up as a kid (still do). Anyhoo that is an awesome hybrid and I love the sound of the 1UF with the headers - miniature F1 sound!! But there is no way its faster than the 3Rotor beast! Yasin

That Turbo kit you got your hands on was actually made by a company called Sanyo-Kiki. I have the original brochure from them, they made aftermarket kits for a whole bunch of Toyotas and Datsun/Nissans including sidedraft manifolds and carbs and blow through carb turbo systems. They sadly went bankrupt in the late '80s with more and more companies turbocharging their cars from the factory and with less people wanting to buy sidedraft carbs. L28ET has extremely low compression...in the low 7s if I remember correctly.. Many people have turbocharged the higher NA L28E compression with great success just watch your boost...your fuel and your AFR numbers at WOT. Yasin
