  4. So only Turbo Autos came with Oil coolers not Turbo 5-Speeds? I'm removing the motor from my donor car and noticed no hoses. The book just says Turbo Cars had hoses and nons did not. I'm sitting here thinking maybe the original block went bad and a junk yard non-turbo F54 went into its place. Isn't there a sensor on the block that only came on the turbos?
  5. That would be an intresting restore. Why does the intake look like it is missing a bunch of things? Lack of Emmisions items?
  6. Wow that really sucks sorry for the loss. Did you pre-lube it? New Rocker arms? Maybe you lost oil pressure sometime over these two weeks? I seriously doubt you did that in 1-2 hours of tunning unless you weren't getting any oil up there. How were you clearences? You did a cold and hot check? Obviously you need another cam, but unless you beg and plead I think you will just have to bite the bullet and buy another one or use your old one.
  7. 260ZRed: Any assistance would be great! Okay, I see the difference that sand paper makes. I had to remove the paint, then Bead blasted the entire rim awhile back. So tonight I used 220, 400, 600, then 1000 in a certain section. Came out almost as nice as yours did above and I used Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish. I also picked up some Blue Magic metal polishing cream and it sucked in comparsion to the Mothers. My experience is the sanding is what really brings out the shine. I took like 3 light applications of the mothers to get the shine out. With the area that I bead blasted I counted up to 10 tries and it still didn't even show a reflection. How did you sand it? All by hand? No electric sanders? If so which one? How did you get the cracks? Did you use tape at all to do sections at a time so you could really focus on one area? Thanks

  10. The donor car I bought 82ZXT says P90. Did any heads that just say P90 have hydraulic lifters?

  12. I stood it upright, put my ramps on the tailgate, rolled my dolly up behind it and wheeled it down. I think it came out easier then going in! On a side note, I got the exhaust all off and the drive shaft off. What a pain in the Arss that was. Thank God for Sawzalls!

  15. Check out this about timing: http://www.zcar.com/forums/read/1/349436/349436#msg-349436 I'm not 100% about the bad alternator but if your getting spark and fuel the bad alt should only impact the charge of the batt. As long as your batt is 100% charge you should be okay for a little bit.
  16. Did it run better b4 you did this work? Did you happen to cross spark plug wires? You need to really get the distributor tightened down and set. That will definitely affect your idle if it is off.

  18. Also check the compression. This may give you an indication of why you are not getting good power.
  19. I've got a 280zx that I'm stripping and figured I'd cut it up and take it to the recyclers. Is worth the time for the money or should I just call someone to come pick up the stripped shell? What should I expect to get for scrap?

The body is totally shot even the Frame Rails I was hoping to just make it run better and flip it complete, but I'm going to have to strip and cut it up and bring all the metal to the recyclers and ebay the rest. Advice, is it worth stripping down far enough to the metal and cutting up for the scrap? Is there much of the interior worth anything if it is in good shape? My goal now that I cant flip it is to keep the block, head, turbo and Exh. Manifold. With keeping those items how hard would it be to recoup my 612.55? I don't need the BW T-5 or the Rear end.
