  1. the only thing you have to look out for is compression, you dont want to high of a compression if you want to run boost and pump gas. a vg30e is the same except a et just has a turbo
  2. The 84 turbo is only oil and air cooled( like the 280zx turbo), hence the air scoop. the 85 just had it for stylish reasons I guess... It shouldnt be a problem if your going to change it. I think 85 and up is oil/water cooled... im not sure I just know it has something else other than oil and air. Other than that its all the same. not sure about the rebuild, just no kits for it, just have to order custom pistons and junk...
  3. I have seen vg30detts fit which are bigger because twin turbos, so im assuming that would fit. the "D" stands for duel overhead cam.
  4. So your going to get it working and then swap in a complete l28et or make the l28e(if it had FI that year..) into a l28et? and ive seen another one of those in a junk yard with a sunroof in it... idiots, I hate that stuff.
  5. If you have the money. You can put slicks on it but you will break a lot of stuff. its not that you cant put it the ground its that if you do you might break stuff... LOL I really dont care about launches most people around here do races from rolls unless your going to a drag strip... I just want to beat mustangs and any honda LOL all there is around here.

I did the calculate HP thin on dragtimes.com with Jasons time on vg30et.com 12.21 124mph and put his weight as 3250, im not sure but im guessing 150 for him and 3100 for his car and got 420hp which is only off by 30. Having a lighter car is so much easier thats why im not going to try to make my car an 11 second car. I know a guy in my town that drives a WRX and he has somewhere around 500 hp and does 11s his car is heavy...
  9. there is racing gas here at petro express I think its like 100 octane for 5 bucks or so. then there is always the permformance shops with there 112 octane . but highest pump gas is 100 for 5 or 6 dollars only at that one place...

  12. Does only the east coast of the US have 93? I put 93 in mine. higher the octane the better... keeps high psi cars from detonating LOL.

There was some guy there that would get me parts for cheap cheap, but he had a stroke and isnt up there any more and jeff wanted to charge my cousin like more than half of what a new half shaft would cost. I got my bumper and a gauge cluster from there for free:D, I need to go back for a hatch that isnt rusted.

  18. my lifters make noise when I start the car, then I get ticking when the car needs oil. it burns it bad when I use boost
  19. ive been to nisstech, Im from Rock Hill, that supercharged ls1 240z is sweet he told me 17k for it. I got a brown 1985 300zx turbo parts car for $600 from there and it still drives around its curently on 10psi and my cousin drives it. but I need to get more parts. Do they still have all those Z's and q45s there??
  20. if you want there are places speacilize in building up T5 transmissions... its basicly the same as a mustangs trans. that is what I want to do unless I find a 88 turbo 5spd trans. the non turbo 5spd trans are also stronger than stock t5 turbo trans
  21. Man the 2jz is heavy, and I guess the roll cage. but that engine is good no matter what it is in. these transmissions suck. I am hoping for 11s on my future sr20 car, maybe 350hp in a 2000 to 2300 pound 1970's opel gt... But I dont know. But you can make any car fast, I dont think a 7second car will be streetable, unless your running 40psi and just turn it down.
  22. I think there was some company that got the enging to 900hp then the crank snapped... but I hear the block can handle 1000 so go for it. LOL
