Nice write up, the only one bid concern with everyone doing these swaps, is how much power can i put out with these set ups. The sr20 is a good swap in Z car since its light and very coviniet in pricing and parts are available. The power goals could measure out to be around 450 hp that on fully buit motor with a biger turbo. Now the RB20 probably will handle about the same amount of power but the bottom end might not hold. And the costs of fabbing anything out on either motor is about the same...

I dont have much experience in receiving huge packages on paller like engines, but i can tell you this... It depends on delivery company that the shipper is using for example, Esties uses and lift on back of there trailer and dolly to move it into the facillity, DHL is similar depending on package size and there is many more. But they all require some sort of a bussiness address "zip code". Since its a semi that will be deliverying that package.

These swaps arent that easy to do:cry: !!! Unless you can fabricate, weld and if the mesh spegetti dosent make you dizzie then more power too you. The things you need is pretty simple, custome mounts, custom, driveshaft, custom plumbing, and the most important thing is the oil pan. And as far as cost goes SR20vsRB26 $1500vs5K and all the fab work. You do the math. Hope that helps more info can be found on the rb forum just start reading from top to bottom on stickies.

Those seats are a steal deal for around $350. And yes they should fit in a Z. I think any bucket seat should fit in the Z interior. I am shopping for seats my self and debating about fitting Recaro TomCats in, now thats a tight fit.

Thats is sick! -
Alex makes a good point about cost on N/A RB motors. But the biggest factor would be parts for the N/A. There is alot of parts for Turbo RB's and not too much N/A parts. Not to mention that all of those parts are in Japan, Australia and China.

Yet another Skyline on Ebay....1971 Hakosuka 2 door
hotimport replied to S30TRBO's topic in Non Tech Board
I defenatlly agree with you on that one. The thing is about buying such a car as a piece of art and Japanese heritage, is the restoration is alot of $$$$ and to find parts would be even more $$$$ on top of what you allready paying for it. Realisticlly speaking i would pay somewhere around 18-22K and i would want this car to be near perfect condition. I know that i might be dreaming but when i talk to the guys that imported Brians car they told me that somewhere around 20K would get you want I want. Anything under 18K would most likelly have rust spots that arent that bad but would need work. Which mean a new paint job and so on and so forth. -
I guess you might be right. This is just something that i remember. There was a 240z for sale a few weeks back. It was nice buit l28t that had a sick custom made "engine red" valve cover that said nissan/datsun turbo on it. It was basicly a custom made valve cover from scatch. So the funny thing was is that he was going to sell the car for around 8k here in US. So in Japan they price there custom made valve covers around 3-5K. Thats just a joke. If you really think about it i bet you could make a bunch of them like that if you can put enough effort into it, and sell them for around $600-900 a pop. This one is a bit off subject.... It sure is better then standing in front off Best Buy for 4 days and 3 night waiting for that stupid PlayStation 3 to come out, so you can e-bay it for 3K

Yet another Skyline on Ebay....1971 Hakosuka 2 door
hotimport replied to S30TRBO's topic in Non Tech Board
Uh! Intresting, i was watching the listing on my e-bay for a day or so. How did it get removed, was the car sold or something. Brain said that it was around 30K or he would sell for a obo, so meaning like 29K. The car wasnt in its best condition ever. It didnt look like it was profesionally repainted or restored. I think brians car is much better condition on its visually appealing and interior too. -
What??? This guys is smoking crack:eek:

Huh! The Y44 isnt this the Q45 motor. The president is like are Q45 but the engine codes dont match. US VK45DE and JP VK45DD thats for the Cima 02+. The President was the older version of the Q45 dont know for sure but looks like from 96+ and that motor was US VH45DE and same one goes to Japan. I am a bit confused here, so which year is this one Y44E? Ok found it 73-89 President 250 4.4L Y44E V8 and the new one 90-02 would run VH45DE. Thats a bit old for a motor, its a v8 but still. I remember this one Z that had a VH45DETT in it, that thing was a beast. So how much for the Y44E???

I found some info on it. 87.5 bore $4.305 colling channel bore 87.5 $5.131 and titanium top rings $307. Not that bad since the HKS one is like around $6k. Oh yeah the prices came off nengun.com

This sure is a great idea, but whats the durabillity of this?

Motorex/Hiro Criminal Investigation
hotimport replied to Cal Poly Zmanaustin's topic in Non Tech Board
Ok so i am reading about this on going investigation and it looks like the detective and the sheriffs dept recovered 4 out 5 Skylines. I just dont understand why they made a big deal out of it. If people werent really participating in this case and owners of those 5 cars that were stolen didnt even called and checked in with PD department. This is old news to me and as said as it is for Hiro to add more and more charges on his case. The only thing that this detective and the sheriff dept wont tell you is how they actually found and recovered those stolen Skylines. Personally i tought that they would be stripped and sold as parts. Since there wouldnt be a point of keeping one of them and try to drive it around town. So my tought on who ever hijacked these cars had to be internally connected withing Motorex. Since the cars were imported into CA and has been stuck in the customs for some time. So the person who could of got to them had to be from Motorex or a connected in some way to it. He would need keys, paper work and etc to get to them. Well the good news is that they recoved most of them and will hopefully release them to rightful owner, and as far as legalization and stuff like that goes dont even hold youre breath, because its not going to happened. -

Has anyone bought anything from zraceproducts.com?
hotimport replied to jtmny1999's topic in Non Tech Board
I still dont know which one is better alltought they still might snap in a case of too much power and torque. But the one from zraceparts looks alot more better and heavy duty craftsmanship. The biggest thing is to really test it. If someone would have to run coilovers one of those arms, either one and all the new bushings. I think that would be only way to compare them. -

So as the choice goes we only have to chose from these or the AZC ones, so which one is better??? I think prices is about the same. -
