picked up a new Holset yesterday its a HX pro-52 its used on cummins 5.9L dodge diesels. Its a racing upgrade it has the same size 72mm compressor inducer as the hx55 but a smaller turbine 70mm. I'm going to be useing it on my sbc 350 and blow thrugh carb setup until i can collet all the parts for EFI using MS ems heres a few pics of the turbo my only concern is the exhast houseing is only 16/cm2 about the same as hx35? seems small for a v8 what do you think? i hope the trim on the trubine flows good... map

yep, if it doesn't say "garrett/airflowreserch" "precision" "innovative" "turbonetics/rayjay" "holset/cummins" borgwarner" "schwitzer" dont buy. newer masterpower turbos are good, the ones with the bigger shaft, stay away from the older smaller shaft MP T70 Theres even some ebay tubos that say "garrett internals" BS

ive searched and didnt come up witha def. anwser but will a mustang t-5 trans work with a chevy 350 if the bellhouseing is swaped? ive heard the input shafts are diffrent not not sure... whats the low budget way to run a manual 5 speed with a sbc? thanks andy

Car is running alright... needs some fine tuning... its almost fast enough..haha I bought a bigass turbo. holset HX50. should get me to 500hp right now im collecting/making parts to install the turbo w/multiport EFI. I've designed a throttle body adapter (mustang 80mm) to bolt on a standard carb flage. should be machining (CNC) it any day now. Im renting a house and with childcare fee's im frriggin broke! maybe ill get to a track and shoot 100 shot of n20 and see what happens before i tear it down for the turbo... andy

Ya, it was on jackstands at first, then i needed to move it around so it was on the jack... Safty first! Foil works great, my heat tape melted to the pipe!
