Im hoping to keep my 3.54 and my 82 5 speed so I have really long gears. Im hoping to do a turbo motor in the future and I think long gears and lots of torque would work good together.

No I think the Z is a great car to learn in and it probably really teaches you car control, but it stands out and thats not good when you dont want tickets. I think my Z is the best thing thats happened to me, Ive worked on it since the 5th grade and everthing I know about Z cars is from working on it and taking it apart. Im just glad I can say Ive actually know whats under my carpet unlike most ricers.

The T-5 was used in some of the ZX's. I believe the 5 speed he has is the 78 five speed. Im finding that I will probably put in my 82 5 speed to get alittle better mileage on the highway. Ill jsut have to get a little more power to keep the acceleration the same.

All I have to figure out now is how to get a roll bar in a 2+2 and keep the back seats. ARMAND- The Z isnt the greatest car to be driving when you first get your license, especcially a bright orange one.

Yeah, I have cracks in my radiator shrouds from griping the bike to tight.

Ive only been to Nigeria, going once school gets out again. It was a really a reality check going there and seeing how they live. It made me alot more grateful for what I have here. Which is a better position for a rollbar, going off the top of the wheel wells or the floor? When your going through the woops and your hands are so pumped up you cant control the throttle is the sign you need to pull over or finish the race really really soon. I dont think you know how demanding it is till you do it for your self.

I dont know if anybody would want to do this but you could probably put some kind of valve on the vent line coming from the tank and when its in the garage close it so it doesnt release fumes or when its parked in the sun in a parking lot open it so it can release the pressure. Or you could use the stock fuel vapor condensor thing.

Id like to find about 17 gallon fuel cell that would allow me to switch the filler position to back and run dual exhaust. Anyone have a good Idea? What was the size of the Cj5 tank? Trying to get a perspective of sizes and howd they would fit.

MAdkaw what kind of fuel cell do you have? Thats my biggest reason for considering a fuel cell is so I can run dual exhaust. Also because Im hoping to put it the gas filler from behind the license plate, and it would be easier todo with a fuel cell.

I dont think the mileage wouldnt anything extordinary because the z weighs just as much as most other little 4 bangers and nearly every other car sold on the market has better aerodynamics then the Z.

Would do be able to control the boost and lower it down when you dont want all the power and get a little better mileage. If Im correct MSA sold a manual boost controll that raises the boost up to about 10 psi. Would something like that work?

Thinking that you did a slightly modified NA L28 and got into the 14's makes me want to go towards a NA motor. Ive always wanted to get my car once its finished into the 14's turbo or NA. About how much power would you need to counter the difference in 2700 lbs to about 3600lbs (what my cars vin tag says)? Once the cars finished Ill try to get as much weight out as posssible. You said you had stock EFI but had a different manifold. Did that change much?

Ive always assumed that I wouldnt get as good MPG with a turbo. But I have to consider Id probably have my 3.54 and a ZX 5 speed that would keep rpm down. Please excuse If I was wrong, I just assumed even though Ive never driven my car long enough to get MPG. My bad. Ill change it to (if money permits).

Is 10 mpg driving conseratively? BRAPP- How were you running 14.4 with a virtually stock engine? Not disputing it but It seems really quick. Whats the rpm on the freeway for a 280z 4spd 3.54? Im guessing about 3200 RPM.?..

Looks great! Anybody see the latest car and driver? They compared the 350Z, RX8, TT 1.8, and the Shelby Gt. Although they only tested the 1.8L FWD it came in second. It had almost and identical time on Spring Mountain Motorsport Ranchs track as the 350Z which got the fastest time. If the 1.8 was fast cant imagine 3.2 AWD!!

Or just route the line outside where the gas isnt venting into the interior.

What time do you start your senior project? Is it the fall of senior year or summer before. Im hoping to rebuild or possibly turbo(if money permit) for mine but Ive got a couple years. Like said Id start off by just getting a good clean Z and learning everything you can about it and make it safe. Look where every hose goes, what every bolt holds together etc. Im hoping to have my car back together this summer and after that Ill be going through the suspension and brakes to replace bushings to make it safe before any performance parts.

All the pictures look great! Yes it does!!!! Just a muffler can improve hp by atleast 50 hp easy. And the speakers add weight so you can go faster... Thats one of the biggest reasons I love my car is that I will know every nut and bolt once its finished. Most ricers have no idea whats under there huge front bumper, and huge fake scoops.

Do you know the stock #'s for the LT1? Howd you do in AutoX? Where are they doing autoX in Yakima?
