Dude I'm in your same situation, I daily my S130 that im gonna be AutoXing and I worry about safety as well, especailly since my seltbelts currently dont work either, Ive already gotten my Forza seat and planning to order my harness ASAP once Ive decided on how Im gonna mount them, I might be buying a Autopower roll bar too. Only problem is money:mad:

Wow thanks for the replies guys! 80LT1: Which Autpower roll bar is that? The Race one? It looks very good:grin: Shady: I talked to someone who said they were gonna run their Scroth harnesses that way on another forum, That is a 4 point harness correct? Would it be better to buy a 3 point if I were to mount like you since it is to one bolt? Oh and I have a Cusco rear strut bar, is that gonna be a problem for mounting the harness there, or maybe instead of a metal tab I can bolt the harness under the strut bars plate? naviathan: Thank you so much for that!!!! Im gonna go do this right after I get home from classes today. I wont have to worry about being unsafe driving my car anymore and will allow me to save up and do my harness the right way instead of rushing to just get it and mount it wrong or unsafely! Thanks again guys!!!

Thanks! I bought them when they first came out and now I wish I had waited since at that time only the 15s were available and now they have 16s, hoping to get some 16x10 Diamond Racing wheels in the near future though!

What do they think of V8 Z's in Japan?
JDMFairladyZX replied to silicone boy's topic in Non Tech Board
I would like to know as well, always been curious...maybe there are v8 swapped Zs in Japan but not US V8s, maybe like a Toyota or Nissan V8 -
Camber Adjustment on 280zx
JDMFairladyZX replied to m1ghtymaxXx's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
These are for the front correct? Will any modification be required or are they bolt on? -
My shoulders sit right at the harness slots, but what ive been told is that its unsafe to have the harness bolted at any angle more 20degrees, and thus is why people use roll bars, but then I said the onyl bar ive found was Autopowers and in a HybridZ thread someone posted a pic of theirs in their S30 and how they were unhappy that the roll bar was so low in relation to the harness slots. He had to weld a new bar higer to be able to wrap his harness. So are you telling me as long as my shoulders are lines up to the slots I can run the harness without a roll bar? That would be real good news! How do you fix them? Mine dont retract they kinda hang limp and they dont lock when I pull on them:(

woah! I thought youll only get a bit hurt I didnt know itll kill you! Well Im looking at Autopower roll bars but i saw a pic of a S30 with one and...the harness bar was way lower than any seats harness slots:icon_frow Anyone have one in a S130 or a pic? Oh and for a quick fix should I just buy a wrap harness and warp it to my strut bar until i get a roll bar? Like i said im really worried im going to die in this car real soon, its my daily and I drive alot of miles everyday to school. oh and thanks for the quick replies!

Hey guys just got my Corbeau Foza seat installed and planning on buying a Corbeau harness, but I want some of your opinions on what I should go with. My dilema is, Im not sure if I should get a 5 point with wrapping style and wrap it to my Cusco rear strut bar because im worried that thats not a safe method, or go with a cheaper 3 or 4 point and bolt it to the body but without a roll bar...which should I do, problem is my factory seatbelts dont work so in an accident im flying through the windshield! and can't afford a roll cage right now:mad: I need to get a harness ASAP! I daily drive the car and plan to AutoX, please help! Thanks!

Heres some of my S130, not the most recent but oh well I think its about time we have a thread to post pics of our cars, so many nice Zs on here

Its Vtec not V-tech, thats the phone It makes around 240 to the crank. A very good motor, there are two versions the one in the earlier AP1s is a 2.0 with a 9k redline while the latter AP2 have the 2.2 version with a 8k redline, both have about the same HP but the F22 has a bit more torque I think.

17x11's and 17x12's
JDMFairladyZX replied to evildky's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Those wheels are beautiful! About the backspacing when i read 6" I was a bit suprised! Good thing they changed it for you, as I doubt it would have cleared the strut. -
well this is an old thread bump but i saw a S13 240sx the other day...with ZG flares and that reminded me again of them ever fitting on a S130. I think im gonna have to be the first person to do this since i seem to be the only person who interested in them. No one knows of a single S130 with ZG flares?

I just noticed the yellow FD is driving with its flip lights down and off! If thats for aerodynamic reasons then thats pretty interesting. Also seems like the same crew that did inital D is doing the WM anime...even has the same 3DCG as 4th stage...

I just discovered autopower industries and their bolt in cages, i plan on autoXing my 280zx soon and i want to install a bucket seat and a harness, Im not sure how a harness is mounted so just wanted to double check that if i were to buy the 60170L (it is bolt in correct?) with the optional cross bar..I would be able to safely mount my harness to there? Thanks just wanted to make sure before i buy. *also anyone have the Race roll bar installed in their Z, I'd love to see a pic thanks!

haha im a full time student too and just turned 19 and my Z is still stock and slow:cry2: being a full time student is killing me and honestly i hate it, almost don't want to go to school for a while and just go back in a year or so...hopefully by the end of this month though, if everything goes right (as in i get hired somewhere!) my N/A motor will be turbo (theres not a single turbo 280zx or junker L28ET in FL!!!)...and if everything does go right i wont throw a rod or blow my head;-) Man Ive waiting for the day I drive my car past some punk kid in SRT4 and blow off in his face since i was 16...cant wait!

biggest wheels
JDMFairladyZX replied to 280gonboosted's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
First off my apologizes to the original poster of this thread sorry to thread jack but i dont want to waste making a new thread for a few quick questions for Blue...So If i run 16x10s with a 4"BS (-25.4mm offset and will have the same backspacing as my 15x8s 0offsets which have 205/55/15s, which clear the strut and have no fender or spring rubbing) all around with say 225/50/16 tires I wont have any rub issues up front? Also the wheels will stick out of my fenders a bit wont they? lol thanks again dude, im really excited to get these wheels:-D -
biggest wheels
JDMFairladyZX replied to 280gonboosted's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
One: I do search, and two: not only was that info not related to what i asked...but its also misleading. I have 15x8s 0offsets with 205s on my front tires and i only have about 3mms of clearence from my stuts. I just wanted to know if i would be able to turn lock to lock with 10inch wide wheels up front, but i decided to instead go with 16x8 with a 3" backspacing just to be safe and not go past my fenders. Not trying to be a jerk or anything and I appreciate the help;-) -

JDMFairladyZX replied to 280gonboosted's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I dont mean to thread jack but for some reason i cant post a new thread on this computer so...Can I run 16x10 wheels with 4"backspacing (-25.4mmoffset) on the front of a 280zx with stock brakes and tokico springs? i plan on running the same wheels on the back. -

JDMFairladyZX replied to 280gonboosted's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Whered you find 15x9.5s? Ive been trying to find wheels wider than my 15x8s for a long time! -
Turboing the N/A L28 - Intake manifolds?
JDMFairladyZX replied to JDMFairladyZX's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
Ok new dilmema, the intake tract to the TB: on the NA its angled differently and theres the Air flow sensor on it too (i think thats what it is, its the baffled box.) So does this mean i cant use the stock turbo J pipe? What will i have to use to get the boosted air ito the TB? Thanks! *I did a search but all that i got were already turbo swapped cars, no N/A to turbo conversions. -

JDMFairladyZX replied to jtmny1999's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension, and Chassis
Really? dam, i got all excited when i found the techno toy tuning 510 camber plates and it said they were for the 280zx also:cry2: Man, hopefully i wont be needing them anytime soon. -
