  1. Waterpump? Looking at electric fans as well? So you still need belt for alternator, but at least it will be a little one.
  2. Wow, impressed. I liked it better then the first. The slow motion shot where he almost goes in the drink was impressive. You can tell it was well practiced though, so many black lines on the ground.
  3. Looking good. Where are you intending on mounting the throttle body again? Is it at the end of the whole manifold or at the end of that shorter section?
  4. DELETED. Apologies, I miss-read your post.
  5. Nice car mate. The add doesn't actually say the quantity that the price includes. It keeps using plural, so I assume it is for at least 1 pair, but you might want to ask if you think it includes all four. I can't comment on the quality, but I have seen similar priced sleeves (Look the same) in aus for a single pair. You do know that you will still need to section and weld these to your struts plus provide shocks right?
  6. I don't usually associate Rotaries with Daily drivers.
  7. Can you clarify the condition of the standard NGK plugs? Were the standard ones new as well, or had they been in the engine for the last 10000 miles? Were the standard ones gapped the same, was it the same heat rating etc?
  8. beauty is in the eye of the beholder
  9. I actually enjoy reading your posts that are like that TonyD. It is like a post showing how your mind works.
  10. Correct me if I am wrong, but if you have the ability to do a LS1 swap on a 240/260z, then why can't you do one on your 280zx? No you won't find as many s130 LS1 swaps on this forum as you will s30 LS1 swaps, but just sit down and think about it for a second. S130 came with a L28, S30 also came with L series engines. I cannot see why the S130 would be any harder to do then the S30. You should be able to follow the JTR conversion pretty much spot on. The only thing I can think that might be different is steering shaft/rack and physical engine bay dimensions. If you feel confident doing the conversion on an S30, then give it a go on the S130. If not, look for a car that has already been converted. Infact just did a quick search (Less then 30seconds) and JTR do a 280zx conversion, parts etc. http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Datsun-ZX_Order.html#headers http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=954897
  11. I'm confused why you think the ls1 is a more direct swap??? If you want more displacement and better off boost torque import an RB30 block. With the RB assuming as you say you can use the existing transmission, you won't have to worry about transmounts/custom driveshafts, no cutting firewall/transmission tunnel (Assumming the RB25 bellhousing is no bigger then the z32). So all your talking about is, engine mounts, fuel lines (May not need re-routing), exhaust, intercooler/piping. LS1 as Braap has detailed will require firewall modifications, transmission tunnel modifications, you have to modify the inside of your dash and loose some of your standard accessories, you will have to look at different exhaust headers or modify the steering rack, etc, etc, etc.
  12. No worries, we will talk once you get it all ready. Mind you my head is stock and my throttle body is via linkages, so it may still require us to do a bit of work to get it working. I'll also let you know next time I am down the coast.
  13. Well we could always put it on my car and see how it compares to a stocker. LOL.
  14. wow. very nice drax. I'm getting envious of all these bmws. We might have to change the site to hybridz & bmw.
  15. HA!!! I didn't need that mental picture. And I especially didn't need that one. HA!
  16. To really get the most out of sequential injection, you need to tune each cylinder. To do that properly, you will need to monitor A/F or temp of each cylinder exhaust. From speaking to you on the forums, it seams you may already know this. I'm interested to see how far you go with it. I got to say though, I still like the idea of only throwing fuel into a cylinder that is ready for it. I went from 21 ltrs/100kms on Megasquirt (and a conservative tune) to 12-15ltrs/100kms on a different computer with sequential injection. I am not saying that sequential injection had everything to do with it, far from it, I think the most improvement I got was from having a decent tuner tune my car.
  17. That dyno sheet is showing maximum torque at 4700rpm (I think). Yeah, I think the numbers are skewed, guess a quarter mile time doesn't lie. (Although it shows if your a crap driver or not). Either way, I have my z32 transmission for WHEN, not if, my 280zx 5spd breaks.
  18. I also used some heat shrink over the clamps so that you can't see my clamps. I can take a photo sometime if your interested. Now that I think about it, I think I started with 8mm, but it was too hard to get over the injectors. I think I ended up using 9mm hose.
  19. Well hit me up next time you head up this way. I am busy for the next few weekends, but after that should be fine.
  20. I'm just waiting for Braap to rip his M3 engine out of his 3 series and give it to RTz, then hopefully we will see this for real.
  21. Details here. http://forums.hybridz.org/showpost.php?p=1026654&postcount=65 http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=139854 We'll have to catch up sometime and you can see it for yourself. I am just up in brisbane.
