  1. WOW! I dream of having lights that bright in my Z. I have driven around with my high beams on and people haven't even noticed. I don't like how the projectors stick out though, it looks like a sealed beam headlight in backwards. Are all HID projectors like this? Thanks for being the guinea pig
  2. I actually liked this more then the flat black paint complete with missing bonnet. Although I don't like the 16.
  3. Yep, as above, just keep it waxed. You can get aluminium anodised with a finish called "Bright Anodising" though, and it is extremely bright. That will hold up better then polish and waxing, especially for outdoor gear.
  4. My vote would be Aluminium and polish till your hands hurt.
  5. From this photo it looks like the back wheels are angled backwards. (Think turned 4 wheel steering). Is the photo got a strange lens on it or something?
  6. Cheers, I had a thread explaining why I did it http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=141981
  7. Surely this TonyDee isn't our TonyD? If it is, he really is everywhere on the net!!!
  8. Looking good mate, nice fab work. If this is one of your first projects, I can't wait to see some of your work in a few years
  9. Wow, didn't realise that. So at full fuel usage they are always open? Anyway, still like that the manufacturers use 100% duty cycle as a measuring stick.
  10. Cheers, that makes sense. I should check my mates then, I thought he had the right side higher. But maybe it was the left side that was higher (We live in Australia and drive on the left side of the road).
  11. I have a question. Looking at the above light cutoffs and my mates rx8, the light beam always seems higher at the right then the left. Why is this? Is it because they are not aligned properly? Or is it meant to be like this? Cheers Brad
  12. Ok, Who would be interested in putting in a little $$ to help this project along? (I know how it feels. I always seem to have the time and not the money, or the money and not the time). I am thinking of throwing in a 50 (although at todays exchange rate that comes to about 35) to help with getting derek some more dyno time. I would like to see a dyno run with stock manifold and new manifold. Not sure how this would be accomplished though as it isn't a five minute swap. You guys can think of it like the wind tunnel testing $ pledges.
  13. You can stay at my house if you take me for a drive in the car. Actually, I am not sure I would survive a run in your car without changing my pants.
  14. Well if you want a nice motor to see what your manifold can really do I am sure plenty of people on this forum will oblige and let you put the manifold on their motor. LOL. Keep the positive attitude up, as you said, almost everyone is feeling the pinch at the moment.
  15. DJZ, For a bit of a comparison, I am running a L28et with stock P90 head and F54 block (Dished pistons) running 13psi. I got 185hp and 319ft-lbs of torque when I got it tuned.
  16. That is incredible, well done. As a true australian, somewhere in the future I am sure we will be taking credit for this. Something along the lines of pub talk like, "Can you remember that aussie who did 7s in a street legal Z car?" Once again, congrats mate, and good luck with the next project
  17. I have a question here. A hose has a pressure rating, in Derek's case it was 250psi. Now I have always assumed that you could pump 250psi in there without the tube bursting. But when your talking vacuum, you are talking about sucking rather then pushing. So wouldn't the pressure rating be useless if you are trying to find a hose that doesn't collapse under vacuum?
  18. Dam, I even missed the fact that there was no lug nuts.
  19. In australia, we have the lead solder (I.E. Small ignots roughly 1/2" diameter) in the hardware stores with the plumbing gear. I am not sure whether this is what you need or whether you need 100% lead. Also, you could try asking a High Voltage Cable joining company where they buy their lead from.
  20. Please tell me that the toolboxes under the wheels are purely so that you can see how the wheels will look with flares. Please also tell me that is a car stand at the bottom of the photo. Would hate to see someone not finish their project because they are squashed.
  21. Wow! Now that is clean and uncluttered. There must be a lot of stuff in my engine bay that I don't need. I think you left hand drivers have it a little easier, your throttle linkage is all on one side (Doesn't pass across the back of the firewall) same with brake booster.
  22. Love the black on the heat sheild, the red intake is too pink looking for me. But good idea, well done.
  23. Currently 4 cars for 2 people. Z is not a DD. Having said that, I did have a day last year where 3 out of 3 cars where out of service. AE101 corolla had dead alternator AE82 corolla had distributor being rebuilt Z had no computer Even when you have other options things don't always go right.
