  1. I sort of recall hearing on one of those "SPEEDCHANNEL" shows that the SuperBird's rear wing was also effective as a vertical stabilizer, like the tail on a Cessna or a rudder on a boat. This kept the rear end from swinging around in the turns. (note how thick the verticals are AND shaped like airfoils AND are placed outboard-in the airstream-not behind the roof). Downforce was good, but traction with tire rubber technology 34 years ago.....
  2. Here you go. They are in Scorpion GTZ's online catalog..... http://www.scorpionzcars.com/pages/hoodlatch_jpg.htm

    3.36:1 R200

In the end, a T-56 sounds cheaper and more easily sourced.

    3.36:1 R200

I want higher gears than 3.54:1 and cheaper than a new gearset. 3rd mem pumpkins are $50.00 and the local wrecking yard. Has anybody ever found a ultra-rare 3.36:1 R200 in a wrecking yard? I've always wondered why 6 cyl. auto Maximas don't have higher gears - (maybe they do but in a R180) Where else should I look? Anybody owned one in the only stock Z application? - 1979 280ZX 4 speed
  8. Check the radiator hoses. I have a a '66 Mustang (289 with power nuthing) that made me crazy boiling over in the winter!! Turned out to be the lower radiator hose was collapsing due to the inner-support spring being rusted away and the suction of the water pump would kink and seal the hose - only at freeway speed - it would cool fine in stop-and-go traffic.
  9. Reminds me of the video of the old lady that drove her Lincoln locomotive past the barricades and into a flooded street. The car drowned, and she had to be carried out. She had the nerve to talk to the news cameras , blast the city and complain that the barricade should also have a sign that said " Don't drive your car into the water". Seems there are also senior members of the population who shirk responsibility for their actions. I suppose those necessary signs should also be printed in English and Spanish.
  10. The King's English: "You ain't nuthin' but a hound dog." "thankyuh very much"
  11. MON - STER MON - STER GRRRRRR - ODGE
  12. WOW this new airdam makes a lot of downforce!
  13. I guess "Civic Style" is a 4-door sedan with seating for 7. Anybody listen to "Car Talk" on NPR? One caller was looking for a new car with long leg room. He went to the Ford dealer and asked to test drive a Crown Victoria. The salesman told him he was a nice guy to come check out a car for his grandfather.
  14. This is just my opinion I think that is deliberately misleading. Even with 2 sizes of type, the PHOTO should have shown a book - not car parts.
  15. I don't know if rear rotors go that thick. Most I have seen are 0.750". for example: '88 Mazda RX-7 (with 5-bolt hubs) rear rotor is vented & 0.750" thick. Its rear caliper has e-brake. Toyota Supra (with 4-bolt hubs) rear vented rotor is .750, but a separate e-brake inside the hat. Sterling (Acura) by Honda (with 4-bolt hubs) rear vented rotor is 0.750".
  16. Not Z-specific, (Its a leaf-spring car) But a good article on what they do and how to build from scratch, problem solving...etc. http://www.2quicknovas.com/subframeconnectors.html
  17. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2408815021 Maybe not wide enough for the back, but the offset looks right. Good luck finding splined hubs for the 4x4.5 B.S. , Anyone know if TR-6 or MGB splines are 42mm?
  18. And the award for best sphincter....ooops, actor goes to..... Saddam's propaganda works on 'people who live in America' also. (I hesitate to call them Americans).
  19. Here are the hold-downs on my Burago car. Too bad they are only 1:18 scale...... and a little out of proportion.
  20. This month's Kit Car Builder magazine has a feature on Rory Bateman's Tomahawk kit for the 300ZX. It's a body restyle that looks like a Cobra - convertible!
  21. So those interruped passages are useless, air flows in but not out - he must have measured 35 psi on the inlet side!!! I think it looks like that intercooloer only needs to be half the height to clear *something* and do the same job.
  22. CUT slot across the screw head for a flat blade screwdriver. Use a hacksaw - not a power (dremel would be tempting) tool - sparks in the gas tank would not be good.
