  1. I returned to my favorite shoot location for my first attempt at some car/sunset pics yesterday. I wish I had my tripod with me..

  3. I finally got around to a suspension mod! Bought this black strut tower bar from 1 tuff z that he had on his newly acquired Fairlady. I'm not sure if it's a Jap spec or US made bar but I like the fact that it's black. Feels great too. Eventually a sway bar set will be in my future, most likely after brakes! Installed the intake manifold heat shield which cleaned everything up quite a bit. Still need to get rid of the blue and yellow wires, and the spark plug wires over the valve cover are looking uglier and uglier. Datsun Spirit's spark plug wire kit will be in order soon.
  4. Got the new wastegate actuator, Garrett "Special" 7psi. The rod arm ended up being to short so I had to buy a rod arm extension which in turn made it too long. Had to cut down a portion of the extension to get it just right. Cars back to running normal now, bov louder than ever.
  5. That angle crossed my mind when I read the first post. Would have been able to scope out if it had an alarm and check out valuables. I would tell the guy you can drop off the deposit at his house and see how he reacts.
  6. Can't street park classic cars these days. Hidden kill switch could have prevented this perhaps. Sucks..
  7. I got a switch panel in from Peak Racing Equipment. Thinking about mounting it in the glove box to keep it hidden but reaching over there might get annoying, we'll see.
  8. I didn't think anyone was ever going to ask! Finding a 3" Y was difficult, the few that I did find were cheap Chinese made pieces. After a couple weeks of research I found the company 42 Draft Designs which specializes in German car parts, and hand made in the USA. The 3" downpipe didn't work out as I had hoped. Ended up just using the flange.
  9. Got some love from a local company Dstroyr. http://dstroyr.com/easyblog/entry/what-are-you-working-on-1973-240z-project.html They have cool stuff, check them out! http://www.dstroyr.com
  10. There's nothing wrong with having a little character! I embrace it hehe. I found this vintage license plate frame from Gardena CA, Datsun. Best part is, it's black and it gives a nice original feel.
  11. I've heard rumor of this Z flying around town with no exhaust.
  12. Where do you work? You have probably seen my black Z around those parts if you've been there awhile.
  13. /\ Thanks! I've been spending my time tuning the Z. I've had to lean it out quite a bit via the AFM wheel. It's running good now, I can actually go WOT and not get attacked by backfire and bog. I can really feel the full power of this RB turbo now and I must say it's really nice. On the negative side of my AFM tuning the car has developed a cold start issue. It refuses to start cold. I'm attributing this to my lack of cold start injector, AAR, and so forth. My solution to this has been to unplug my CHTS during warm up. The car starts right up and once it reaches operating temp I plug it back in and all is well. If this is how it's going to be I'll have to put the CHTS on a toggle switch and it will just be part of the pre-flight check list. In my rush to buy the final pieces during the turbo swap I bought a Kinugawa wastegate actuator. I had under 50 miles put on the set-up and the Z developed a vac leak. I found it was coming from the vac port on the actuator. The vac port is simply screwed in and had come loose. I re-tightened it and it came loose again. Attempted to tighten it a third time and add loctite and the thing snapped right off. Moral of the story don't compromise and buy some cheap China made crap! I finally got around to re-threading my shift knob lever and put my Burl wood shift knob on.
  14. If you have a center sump oil pan I have a used pick-up for you. $17 shipped. PM me.
  15. There's a used one on ebay missing a couple parts under twenty bucks.
  16. I've been seeing them pop up for sale quite a bit. There's probably a few hundred out there.. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/4504121659.html http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/4470430159.html
  17. Looking good, get that thing some sunlight! What sway bar is that?
  18. Yeah I agree, I could have paid a little more for the weld on tips but I wanted the option to change them out if I got bored with them. These are brushed aluminum, I could always change to chrome, gloss black or satin black. I may eventually weld them in place because looking at the clamps does detract from the overall cleanliness.
