  3. the auto ecu will shift a little smoother then the mannny.. it wont matter ether way witch one you use ....the ecu's really just control the fuel injection crap ...there wont be any change that you will be able to see between to two.. i used a auto euc with a five speed and it worked fine you just get a nicer smoother shift with the auto ecu..

  5. so its been a long time sence i have had a the net at my house well just got it hooked up today .sorry if i didnt answer your pm..there where a few people that asked me for help while i was out ..well iam back and even though i dont own a z or zx we still have a nissan out front and ya iam looking to buy a z and get back to work on a project again.i dont kno0w..maybe i will get a Ae and put a l28et in it lol . so ya hit me up if you need anything.

  7. ya that's my home town park.i help build it about seven years ago;-) i find the handicap ramp on the other side of the park even funnyer. stupid city of seqium .i told them it wouldnt ever be needed .they wouldn't listen:cuss: man i miss my Z .on a better note i talked to my bro .looks like we will be working something out on the brown 1973 240z . needs lots tlc of as i said befor . i want to strip it down . paint it and build it from the ground up .. hopfully it still up in the air . there is also a red 280z 1977 .the guy wants $400 its workable just a lot of work... i dont know what i will do . but i have to get back to a project soon iam going crazy not having anything to work on.
  8. trany was going out ... no space to work on her .needed a back seat for my daughter. winter 2007 someone stoped short and I rearend them messing up the rate core support and when i fixed it , it never looked right . .sold her on craigslist seattle for $1800.00 my brother has a brown 1973 240z in the front yard . it needs lots of work he really want to get rid of it .he said he was going to send it to the junk yard...but i keep telling him .its mine. dont do anything with it. SO ........ i think iam going to start something with it . maybe RB25 swap...

  10. nope it was a auto it's wierd that it just worked for me ..had to hook up the back up lights but other than that it worked and starts fine..................

  12. i didnt have to connect park/neutral and i did turbo swap and 5 speed install using a auto ecu ..hmhmhh
  13. i used a t3/t4 from a 89 saab turbo .had to reclock the turbo so it would bolt up right .but man dos it spool up fast .i have hit 15 psi and the books say that this turbo is good for up to 23psi ..there pretty cheep i got mine for 40 bucks from a junkyard .still after a year of hard use there's is no shaft play .

  15. i cant figure it out ...it's ether something in my wiring or airflow meter but when she starts to boost she cuts out ..some times i can hit 7 psi just fine...before the problem started i was pushing 10 or 12psi .. but now i hit 3 or 4 and it cuts out .tomarrow i will be messing with her and seeing if i can fix the problem ..i really need a few ideas where to start.. and new turbo air flow meter also it would be nice if i could find a 81 wiring harrness to swap in i think it could be the ecu plugs .but iam not sure yet .well anyone have any ideas or the parts i need let me know .thanks .
  16. cleaned up the turbo afm moved the board around again tuned the spring setting took her for a run and didnt get any cutting out .we will see how long it last.i did find that my bov had a small hole in the rubber seal inside so i took it off .i have to say that rainy days and turbo Z's = big sideways slides with switch backs for blocks
  17. thanks ...ya you wouldn't think i got her out of a junk pile .put her together using three other parts cars doing all the work myself . but ya thats how she sits ..anywAYS drove to all the junk yards all around today no turbo cars and NO afm's .one junk yard says they can get one sent over from another junk yard in a differnt state .but they said it would be $130.00 bills i laughed and walked out . what a joke! but they wherent kidding.f@%#$@%! rip offs.like i would pay that for a used one when i can get a reman one from MSA for $180.00 ..not like i have the cash right now anyways.stupied trick ass girl friend of five years F me over pretty bad and now i'm starting all over. i losted all my zx parts my shop ,a bunch of "friends",my home,luckly i didnt lose my car as well . frustated and broke is where iam sitting and little to no way out of it. going to try to mess with the turbo afm tomarrow .i dont want to blow my motor running her lean .so iam going to try to fix the old one for now .

Ok my turbo afm started acting funny a few weeks ago .air fuel gauge started sticking in the rich zone car would stummble a bit when this would happen. so i went ahead and moved the board around inside the afm cleaned it up and she stoped doing it for a bit.well it started doing it again and it started to get worse running richer and richer stummbling more and more..i looked everywhere for a turbo afm with no money and no turbo parts cars to be found ,i thought in my head well i have a n/a afm laying around why dont i try using it and see what happens.so i did.it works car idles perfict again a/f gauge swings right in the ideal zone. but.. i can tell as i boost her that she starts leaning out in the upper end .i have boosted her to 5 to 6 psi with out any problems being careful and watching the air fuel gauge .but i have my wastage arm shortend so that i can hit 12psi if i step it to the floor.witch i havnt done yet with the n/a air flow meter hooked up.what i want to know is..... is there anyway i can set the n/a afm to fake out the ecu to give her more fuel ? should i pop the cover and tighten the spring ? how many teeth should i click and by doing this would it help over all ? i have a after market fuel presser rag and a jsk rail so i set the presser in the rail to 40psi..when i hit 4500rpm i see it start to drop air fuel mix..iam of corse still trying to find a turbo afm, still without any luck .what should i do? is there anyway to change the n/a afm to work alittle better in the upper end .works great if i stay in the lower boost zone 5psi and under .i have thought about switching boards but i'm unsure if it's the board that was going bad in my turbo afm? is there any way to fix my turbo afm or fix the n/a one to work better?? any thoughts or idea's would be great thanks

  22. finally back online . going to post up some stuff soon after updating my cpu and getting the puter back where it needs to be lololol 6 hours later. i dont even feel like talking about the z ...lolololol anyways she's still running stong .lost the spoiler dont know where it flew off at lololol . got a neg driving ticket clocked at 140mph $600 bills deep on that one.lolol exhust leak is worse need to pull my head and regasket her .still pulls hard to 10psi 12psi if i push her .looking for a new manifold i think mines warped mite just have to have mine sufaced . i dont know will post more later

AFTER 2000 MILES OF DRIVING . i found that a few bolts wiggled lose and my exhaust needed to be fixed ..so i spend sometime with the grinder and the welder .. got it all locked down ..went though alot of things had a bunch of rattles fixed them good now everything IS right and tight .almost ready for a new set of tires for the back already . 10psi makes it alittle eazyer to burn them off lots of power from 2900rpm up in every gear just have to becareful in the rain :icon4:two much gas i think the best thing i could tell anyone if they are plaining a swap is the hardest thing is to think ahead . wanting on parts sucks8-) hope all youR swaps make your Z dreams come true

  25. boost response with the 2.8 is awsome iam very very stoked with how the swap turned out iam over 1800 miles and running like a champ:) so the 3.0 build would be better for a turbo'd road racer build because of the wall thickness hmhmhmh thaTS good info ..i didnt think about that ..i need to DO more research ..i pretty much havent had a chance to read alot of posts on bigger bore L MOTORS ... is there a better place to buy all the parts i will need other than msa? this link here seems like the top of the line kits but would cost more http://www.kameariengineworks.co.jp/page5.htm http://www.kameariengineworks.co.jp/CONTENTS.htm / looks like i could order one thing from every page and still not have all i want and i will have spent more money then is in fort knox
