  3. I'm in the process of finding an autometer tach. I would like to keep the stock one as it works fair when it actually does work, just that the one I have is messed up and doesn't pick up the signal most times. Kurai, the project is long but it all pays off, motivation and looking at other poeples Z definitely help boost it up.

  5. Just factory m/t ecu w/ just an Apexi saf-c. 91 pump gas and 380-400hp goal, I figure a standalone or some sort is a bit too much for that low hp range. However I'm considering a Map ecu2 down the line and bumping up the boost to 15psi.
  6. What dp you guys think? Its untuned and intercooler pipes are temporary and actual ones still waiting to be welded.

  8. I know there isn't much differences, what I was trying to say is the price for a USDM 2jz is higher than one compare to jdm. Why, I dont care too much to search for the answer but I think it has to do with turbos, injectors, emissions, water pump, and maybe other little stuff.
  9. You can expect to pay big bucks for a usdm as they are worth more than the jdm's.

    That sucks. I got mine for 500.00 complete with harness, ecu, ignitor, maf, etc. IMO, stick with obd1, its less hassle dealing with eliminating stuff you don't want.
  12. Lots of progress on the car. My computer wont load pics for some reason. I am currently running on 8'ish psi and the car feels pretty good for that low of boost (untuned). I'm having issue with the timing way off at idle back and forth. Its in open loop and I'm not sure whats causing it but I will figure it out sooner or later so 12 degree before tdc for now. Still need to get my intercooler pipes welded. Intercooler already installed, Looks real clean and mean. Sounds so friggen sweet with the modded HKS hi power exhaust, I'm super stoked, quiet and deep tone and screams like a beast when the wastegate opens. Now I'm regretting not putting in a good race clutch instead I was cheap and used my used 1jz clutch. lol
  13. Member Skecth on here, I think used his stock tach but has no how to, examples on making it work. Stock speedo cable will thread right into the trans if you are using the r154 trans for sure because I have that in my Z.
  14. here is my r154 list to adapt to 2jz. -R154 transmission -1jz to r154 bell housing -2jz pilot bearing -7mgte/1jz clutch kit -1jz flywheel -r154 release bearing -r154 drive line yoke -r154 slave cylinder -drift motion 45" r154 braided clutch line -5/8 stock datsun clutch master cylinder(feels great)

  16. I personally think putting anything else on the fender besides the original ones looks hacked and cheesy. The above specs will work and the view is nice from inside. I just installed my oem nissan/datsun mirrors last week and they can be adjusted to see perfectly with the specs above for us spec LH vehicle.
  17. yea, true a lot of guys running mild 300-350hp says its already retarded fast and fun to drive. My lt1 was probably about the 300-320hp. It was okay from A to B, but I wanna disappear on the freeway and wanted something reliable where I can drive out of town and not worry. JZ engines are well proven and I can not wait to get this thing on the road. lol
  18. Ivan280zt, Your build inspired me to build mine! I was going to aim high on hp also, but because I wanted the car to look stock and old school, I went with smaller 15x8.5 wheels etc. so I was limited on hp. However 400hp should rock this thing.

  20. Quick update pic of my almost finish GTR metallic DIY paint job 260z. Have more pics of it in the toyota L6 engine forums here. Looking back at this thread, Man I am so glad paint is all done. I still have the hood to do. Its still metal. lol
  21. I would use the round spot from autozone to put over it. The mirror is far enough already, with the rounded spot mirrors, its gonna make objects, super far!
  22. Been trying to find time to work on it as much as I can. Got all the hard stuff done. Now onto the basic then tune and smoke tires. jk. I haven't seen a boosted GE in stock form in a s30 chassis with stock manifolds yet besides one from a magazine I found on yahoo. But the car is in Iraq or some where on the other side of the world. Here goes the pics... I got use to looking at the manifold. FFIM and gte valve covers in the future! Pic looks smokey for some reason? Clean and basic. TT MHG, ARP studs, that's it! Besides the fuel supply stuff.. Garrett T4 a/r .60 intake and a/r .70 exhaust. Was going to use the .81 exhaust but I wanted a street monster. Surprise the body line is dead straight. Took me days to master the body work. Compressor intake looks like it barely clears the distributor. Rather not use the ugly4runner cap. Waiting to be driven. Looks real clean and basic. still need to put on my bumpers, BRE spoiler and exhaust and real fender mirrors of course. 10 gallon tank. Z31 axles, mm flange, maxima rear set up. r200 3.90 open 1310 chevy u-joint to chevy driveline to r154 yolk. HKS HiPower I got from a WRX. lol made it fit. Still needs work! The Jz pcm sits right behind the switch panel. best spot I can find/hide.
  23. No, there isn't, I hear people saying their buddy has one here and there but I havent seen any besides the over populated rb swaps.
  24. 2jz260z, nice to see another 2jz powered z car in sacramento. 260zjz na-t here! just fired it up last week without the turbo.
  25. The shoulder(nonthreaded area) sets the spacer and rotors even. I dont have a problem with putting them on, I just cant find the correct bolts, but then I just realized I have some z31 axle bolts that looks like itll do the job.
