  1. i have a question. i did mines this weekend and my torsion rods seems to be slightly off angle. it fits but the 2 holes where it mounts onto the control arms were slightly off. had to force the sucker. if i remember, they both looks identical left and right. same goes to control arms also right? or are they actually different? then i notice my ball joints would not sit flush on the control arms either with the 3/4 strut spacer. is there a certain way to install it? ball joint on control arm first, then torsion rod, then strut? cars not running yet so i would be glad to hear any tricks to it.
  2. how many spline count different is the s13 rear compare to the 280z? the reason i didnt want top go with the q45 is everything else becomes bullet proof then my next weak spots are the stub 27 spline stub axles. i dont want my wheels flying off, rather have a broken diff. i know they make billet ones like the mm but i cant afford to cough up for the pair. now the s13 you have only works with the technotoy right? nice rearend... i also seen a guy on the z31 forum running a custom shaft rear set up with j30 internals into long nose r200 with the facotry 5 bolt flange. 5 bolt inner axle cups mated to z31 turbo shafts to bolt on to the mm billet 4 bolt companion flanges, j30 has the same spline count as z31 turbo shafts?. the advantage is i guess it retains the stock r200 mustache bar setup and have vicious lsd. but this was in a z31 chasis.
  3. thanks for your guys inputs even though someone else ask the question. i have a n/a 3.54 planning to run with boost. for the longest time i was leaning towards the 3.90 since all the 2jz guys run the shorter 3.90 plus gears. its also the transmission that plays a roll in the gearings right?
  4. by the way, thanks for the pics, i wasn't sure which way the big bushing on the control arm was faced, rear or forward? now i know!
  5. nice. my front is going back on tomorrow. got my urethane master bushing kit in. all painted nice and black using red bushings. kinda wanted black but i guess it shows everyone i was under there. lol. i thought about leaving it plain like yours with no color but i was affraid of rust although it looks like its coated with some kind of metal protector anyways. im only leaving the calipers and ball joints plain.
  6. well, only ssr's makes the ones above. copies can be found but real cheesy.
  7. lol, telling him to buy rota's? if your going from ssr longchamps to rota's, then you seriously probably dont care about what brand wheels your buying. 500.00 is a deal if your asking me. especially real ones! by the way, they are not starsharks! these will sell fast for the 240sx guys in the 700 ball park and even to the ae86 guys. im not sure where you find these for sale for that price everyday but i would be interested in buying them just to sell to the local guys and make some extra cash assuming no shipping on top, because then that would change the whole deal.
  8. i know you had a thread regarding tires for your centerlines but what size tires did you ended up going with? looks like a perfect stance fitment. not to fat/stretched etc.
  9. any updates tim? im curious on the jump from .82 to .58a/r exhaust? whats the full boost rpm on the .82? new housing tested yet? my head is now turning towards the 1jz swap. although the 2jz looks cool, for the price, one can get a 1jz complete with a 1jz r154 bell housing. 1j is capable of enough power to flex the z.
  10. some older chick told me shes going to have her 82zx repainted and bodywork for 10k. i almost puke but i guess that is actually in the ball park range. i didn't almost puke because of the price, because it was a s130 redone for 10k? common, go buy yourself a new one.
  11. 55 pages later and i get to play in the wheel show thread. yeah!!! just picked up these really rare simmons wheels. 15x8.5 with a nice -19 offset. got it from mark at club4ag.com. i cant wait to get these mounted and balance even just to push my car around in the grage. lol. really was looking for ssr reverse meshes but couldnt pass these up. 4 inches of lip.
  12. that black transfourty looks retarded. the datsundavidson looks better. lol
  13. everytime someone builds something all the tech officials have something to say! lol. nice job. clean and basic. although you could of add more tubes to support the tank for insurance, it should hold anyways. even though if the car bottoms out, it will not hit the ground. im sure noone here mounts there cell/fuel tank lower than the differential. josephg is correct, as big and low as the newer chevy trucks are, it also uses a plastic tank so i dont see why it is dangerous.
  14. thats actually a steal for 500.00bucks. yep, these are vintage and design for the older japanese cars with 4x114.3.
  15. every set of those wheels i see for sale on club4ag.com and ebay are 4x114.3 lug pattern. whats this going on? i dont think anyone can make you a set as these are old school and discontinued. redrilling these to 5x114.3 pattern is highly not recommended. and if you do find someone who can make you a custom set, you can expect to cough up 2k up since a fairly clean mint condition set runs in the 1k-1500 range.
  16. duh, i knew that. lol, j/k. forgive me, i didnt even realize that until i looked at mine earlier. haha
  17. i know people with good luck from venus also bad. i unfortunately had a bad experience and kinda looked elsewhere. i also agree with hoov100 and say pull the oil pan.
  18. lol, i did the same thing. i beat the hell out of this clean 77 at pick n pull and can not get the damn nut off. i took the whole strut housing with control arms off and beat it for hours with limited tools. failed! and thought, you know what, i better go home and take mine off first. i started counting the splines and found i wasted my time at pick n pull and already had the 27's all along.
  19. i dont think the ones in first pic are original since the lip looks kinda huge. the ones i have only has a lip of 1 1/2". its more original generic looking compare to the above pic.
  20. the new frame looks like it centers the cross member but the rear end diff is still offset? which means you will also have to center the rear diff also for drive shaft angle correction.
  21. you guys both have the same idea. when i first saw deja's pic, i thought of your car. lol
  22. ok, its already march and april is coming soon. any prices on these yet? rotas, etc, nothing compares to the real ones! looks likes there is going to be some tires stretching as wide 15's are gonna be pricey.
  23. i dont know if your still interested but i have two in my garage. already bored and third ear cut off. thats pretty much it. pm me a price and i will get back to you. thanks.
