that's very true, and i realize that it will take work to get it where i want it, i just wasn't expecting to have to work on it so much before i could even work on it to get it where i want it. lol. just the other day i talked to a guy who i am going to get an intercooler, gutted plenum, and electronic boost controller from. i am still going to get them, but until i get my car to make boost again they are just going to be pretty paper weights. lol. p.s.- the only honda i would ever drive is an S2000......civic's should only be had with a side of green beans or corn....cause that is the only place rice belongs...

that is very true. i have a feeling i will be getting them to write out a list and taking some pictures tomorrow since i am done with school at 4:30 then have to be at work at 5 today. this just really makes me mad. i really want to make this car great, but it just wants to cause problems.... :'-( i feel like it is one of my Ex's who always wanted to start arguements when i just wanted to make her happy..... lol

because it isn't the motor that is the problem, it is the lines leading to the motor. There isn't a motor in my 86, but all the lines are still there. but, in retrospec those lines probably have problems too. It is the boots and stuff like that, at least that is my understanding. as long as i can see the problem i can fix the problem, but i don't have a garage, i don't even have a car port. the car is in pretty good condition, there is little to no rust.

So, after they told me that, they just called me again and said that they have yet to find the parts....but here is the thing. I thought it might be around $500, $600 max....well, they just said that so far they haven't found the parts BUT even if they do find them all it would run upwards of $1000 before i ever got it running right.........i don't know what to do.....i want to punch something...but it wouldn't help. any advice is GREATLY appreciated. I have another Z, a 1986 one without a motor in it....should i just pull the one from the 85 and put it in the 86???? should i just say screw it and burn the thing to the ground? please help..

Well, just got off the phone with the shop the Z is at, and I found out I don't have A boost leak, I have approximately 6 or 7. all of which I never would have found. PLUS my fuel rail has a leak. I am not too worried about the rail, since I want to get a new one anyway, but now I know why my car was giving me so much hell. right now my bill sits at $180, and the lady is looking for the boots now. but yeah, I will keep you guys updated. -typhoone

i do a good bit of computer work on the side and i have found that giving a person's computer back before they have paid me is a nice idea, but i have to turn into dick tracy to find them and then do it again and again to get the money they owe me...BUT i have found that keeping their computer until i get full payment, things go MUCH smoother. My solution for you, you have his engine stand, he owes you $125, he gets engine stand when you get $125. i know that $125 is a good bit more than the cost of an engine stand, but hell, why waste your time buying one if you already have a perfectly good one already holding up your engine?

don't worry, money isn't something I worry about. and it's not that I didn't try or anything like that, I totally disconnected everything from the turbo to the intake, redid all of it. all those connections are tight as hell now. BUT there is another leak somewhere and I can't get to it. I don't have a garage, or even a flat driveway for that matter. I can't get under it because of how my yard is, and therefore I can't fix it. I am sure if I had some form of mechanical history I could find a way, but between work and school I don't have much free time and I just want to drive the damn thing for once and just have fun... :'-(

screw it. I just took the damn thing to the shop. let them deal with it.

basically exactly what the title says. my charge pipe keeps coming loose, all I have to is push it back on hard, but when riding down the road I can't do that easily. should I fin someone to make me a perfect fit or is there an easier way to do it? Thanks in advance -Typhoone

:-D :-D :-D I FIXED IT!!! lol, i know it isn't a huge thing, but i fixed it myself, no garage, no buddies looking over my shoulder, no anything but me cussing at my knuckles for continuously hitting somthing stronger than them. lol. i found the problem the other day, but i just overlooked it. The first small pipe that connects the turbo to the intake was the problem. i have pushed it on harder a couple times, then i noticed a little orange thing sitting around the turbo. Well, i called up Eric, the guy i got the Z from, and asked him exactly that was, considering i have never seen one of those for a turbo package before. Well, aparently that first pipe was pretty loose, and he decided to place that in the entrance to that pipe so it would be a nice tight fit. Well, i took off that pipe, placed the orange piece back in, replaced the piping, tightened down everything, and went for a ride.....AND IT WAS PERFECT. the dash was fine, the turbo spooled all the way up, and i was SOOOOOOOOO happy. so YAY ME!!!!!!!!!! just thought i would say all that fun stuff.

.....I am not sure how to take that last comment....lol, j/k. like I tell my friends, I like cars and know SOME stuff about them, but I work on computers.

well, you said keep you updated, o here you go. I jacked the car up, got under the car, looked for anything dissconnected, check for loose clamps etc...and no luck. I don't know what else to do, so I guess I will take it to a shop tomorrow and get them to pressure tezt it and all that fun stuff that I am unable to do. but, on the plus side, I did fix the dash...I guess it's good I am able to do SOMETHING on my car successfully. I really want to drive this car, so hopefully they will be able to fix it quickly...I am going crazy. so far I have spent around 1800 for a car that I have yet to drive without problems.... :'-(

don't have an intercooler, i want one really bad, but i have only driven this car at total of 3 times....and yeah...lol. Yes i checked the stick, and when i mean there is plenty i mean there was oil pass the thick part of the dipstick. I am used to the dipsticks being more pronounced, and that one was hidden pretty well, at least to me. Trust me, i know when the oil is low... if i actually find the dipstick....lol I only had a couple of seconds to check everything...i am back at work again. I will try to get the Z up onto a little bump in my yard tomorrrow so i can get up under it and test the connections much more thorough.

Well, apparently my Oil Sending Unit is CRAP because i have plenty of oil in my car. i checked all the connections to the turbo, and none of them seemed loose in the least....then i was like okay....let's see if it was a fluke. i got in the car, did a little driving and at first it was so so. it is building boost, but only up to 3 psi....what is going on here? it still seems like a boost leak or something....any ideas of what could be wrong? Could it be my MAF? i know i am retarded...and i know i am pathetic...but that is why i am asking you guys....help the retard...please.

well at least now I have a general idea of where to look. and I am not a dipstick...a retard yes...but not a dipstick...I weigh 226 lbs...I am WAY to big to be mistaken for a little dipstick...lol.
