  1. haha....finished....maybe the highschool part of it, but unless you get rid of it i seriously doubt you will ever be really "finished" with it. lol. that is a beautiful car....now make it faster.
  2. i live pretty close to you, and that is a BEAUTIFUL car. how long did it take you to do that swap?
  3. ......wow....i can't wait to see some good vids for this..... =-O
  4. i do have a job. i work 6 nights a week, 5-12 and during the school year i am taking a minimum of 5 classes.
  5. Dang, i don't think i have ever seen so much negative feedback in one thread. lol.. Well, guess i will just have to try and work out some deals and do a lot of talking with my sponsor etc and try and get this done the other way. lol. Thanks for all the Common Sense Smacks. lol.
  6. Okay, let me start by saying that i have no real money problems, i am just far from good at saving up my money. I really want a hybridz, and i have been thinking about taking out a decent sized student loan this coming school year. I have scholarships that take care of all of my tuition and books, so i could take out a loan and put all of that into my car and bank account. There is a shop that is just opening up in my town and the owner has already done a full rb25 swap into a 280, and i was talking to him about doing my swap. He said that he could do a full rb25/26 swap into my Z in ONE WEEK for 1,500-1,800. At MAX it would be two weeks, and that is with problems. i have looked at his car, and the car that he has done the swap into and it is nice. He knows his swaps, he does it right, and he doesn't cut corners. Of course i would have to pay for the motor, but i have talked with my sponsor and they will kick in and help with the costs of course. So here is my question, i am going to be a Junior this year, and as of yet i haven't taken out any loans during my college career and the payments would be reasonable plus i wouldn't have to pay anything until 6 months after i have graduated. Is it a good idea? It seems like a good idea, but let me know what you think. thanks for any and all opinions. -Typhoone
  7. from what i have learned on this site, the LT1 works with the jtr mounts, but not ls1/2 etc.
  8. the jtr mounts work with the lt1. check out the jags that run website, they sell a complete manual and EVERYTHING you need to do the swap.

  10. I have, in my eclipse. it was BAD. lol. I went to try and check everything before I had to leave....but the battery was dead, and I was pressed for time, so I guess I will try again tomorrow, ill just put it on charge tonight.
  11. okay, now I have a fuel leak somewhere, and I'm not sure where. I plan on looking for it tomorrow and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on where I should check first. also there is a high pitch whistle come from my car, but if I tap the brakes it quits for a second. its not quite a squel so I don't think its a belt. would the driveshaft do anything like that? finally, my steering wheel shakes....a lot. if I am driving down the road and I look at my hands it looks like I am having a siezure. it drives straight but the vibrations are starting to annoy me. thanks for any and all help. -typhoone

  13. it wasn't a bent valve. i did a full tune up and i don't know what part it was, but it fixed it.
  14. i know my luck to well to try that trick.....
  15. be sure to give us a link to wherever you post it. that is a beauty
  16. I would seriously invest in an alarm system if i were you boss. they are worth the money you put into them.
  17. Lol, i want them cause i am 20 years old, in college, making $6.00 an hour....i make money on the side because of computers and all....but this stuff is EXPENSIVE. Also, i have a pretty creative imagination and there is an awesome custom shop in my town that does paint jobs that are second to none, and i already have a really cool idea for a paint job that will go great with the companies logo. It is actually pretty cool, i work in a video store, and i have met so many different types of people. I know one guy, he went to college for 13 years, and makes $575,000 per year. i have met buisness owners, self made men, and people with old money. Well, one of the guys that i have met has become a pretty good friend. He owns a web design company that has been kicked into overdrive and in the past quater alone he has made more than he did all of last year. It is him and his business partner that are going to sponsor me. I sent them a basic rundown or what i want was possible. One of the main things they wanted was an extra wow factor, something to help get extra points at shows. I told them there are a couple of ways to get WOW points, and they were mainly engine swaps, and custom paint jobs. Now, as soon as they decide which route they would like to go, i can actually hammer out the final details. If i go LS it will be done by macon-moore-performance, if i go RB it will be done by top hat performance, and if they decide to just stick with the VG i will just build it to hell and back.
  18. it is amazing. i was terrified that i had a bent valve, or who knows what else. guess what i did to fix it. I gave it a tune up....really. i got new plugs, wires, distributor cap, etc....and no more backfire, no more loss of rpms....nothing...it is perfect. =-) i am VVVEEERRRYYY happy now.
  19. Okay, i am tired of waiting for my sponsor to finally decide what direction they want to go with my Z. It is going to be one of three possible options; RB, V8, or stick with the VG. If i go V8 i am going to use an LS2. Comes stock with 400 hp, but that is not at the wheels. I am shooting for around 500 at the wheels. I talked to the shop that i will be having the swap done at today, and everything seems to be pretty clear. But just wondering, i saw a post the other day about frame strengthening, and a good bit of people said that even with around 500 hp at the wheels it isn't needed. But David, the owner of Macon-Moore-Performance said that the first thing he will be doing after they get the car and get everything out of it will be sending it to a chasis shop to get the frame strenthed, toughen up the welds, etc. cause with 500 hp it will bend it like there is no tomorrow in "that little car." So, i am wondering, is he just underestimating the strength of the Z or will i really bend it and be screwed up to hell and back? He has no affiliation with the chasis shop, so i know he isn't just trying to milk me or anything. but yeah, this is the general idea that i would like to kick into motion at the beginning of next month....if my sponsors will make up there minds......: Take the car up to Macon-Moore-Performance order an LS2 crate engine from Jegs, Order heads/cam/intake package, around 150-200 shot of Nitrous, full setup, etc. if everything goes well the turnaround time will be around a month to a month and a half. Does anyone have any suggestions or things i might want to add to this setup? I am sure that i will be able to hit over my 500 hp mark. Thanks for all of your help. -Typhoone
  20. i love the look of the old schoo muscle cars, so i must say :worthless: :worthless:
  21. i am trying to help out a friend of mine, he has a 327 crate engine with a holley 600 carb. he put in a bigger power valve becuase he wanted some more power, but now he wants to put it back to stock. there are 3 power valves sizes; 65, 45, & 35. does anyone know which one is the stock one???? Thanks in advance. -Typhoone
