  2. thank you sir. the reason I titled ut that was because...I don't know what happened. lol. I will try to be more descriptive in future posts...if I fix this so i'll have something to post about... :'-(
  3. could I just get it rebuilt or is it total junk if it is seized? I heard it trying 2 spool when I was on my way back, but it couldn't rev high enough with the way it was acting. how can I check o see if it is seized

I don't know what the oil pressure or voltometer was throughout the ride. it did kind of sputter. it wouldn't rev, I wasn't doing burnouts but I was driving it decently strong, shifting at around 4500nrpm, tried checking the oil...where is the dipstick hidden? after I stopped at the house I turned it off, then on again. started pretty easily. temp guage was right in the middle.
  5. I was driving down the road, I took a had to brake coming to a stop-sign, I stopped, I took the turn. I started going again and it wasokay. got up to 5th gear again, started slowing down, came up to another stop-sign and that is when everything sucked. I drove back home heartbroken. I parked, and saw my oil guage on 0
  6. I went driving today, and everything was going great. It was boosting fine, the gears were shifting pretty good, then.....just about nothing. It WILL NOT boost, it is very shaky, and it's acceleration is almost non-existent..... what happened? there is one bar at the bottom of the oil guage, so i am pretty sure i have SOME oil, and since it was still running i know that the motor isn't locked up. i didn't hear any pinging noises so i know i didn't detonate....so why won't i boost? Did my MAF just go out all of a sudden???? Please help, i really like this car...and i want to drive it more..... Thanks for all your help -Typhoone

  8. okay, thanks a lot guys. I know I sound retarded not knowing how to drive a stick, but at least i'm trying. lol. oh yeah, and that driving in traffic idea....uhhh...nooo...I get road-rage like you would not believe...that isn't a safe idea for me or anyone in the surrounding area. lol.
  9. okay, thank you sir. one more question. when my buddies talk about racing they sometimes say "I downshifted and we floored it...'' isn't that counter-active??? or is it downshifting from 5th to 3rd for a better start?
  10. nope, they do look nice. this looked like nissan should have put them in there stock. they had the Z emblem on there and everything.

I am learning the 5-speed currently, simply because before now I have never needed to use one. finally I have my Z and it is great, the only downside to this is that I am having to learn to use the manual. I can go through the gears fine and all, but I was wondering if you guys could give me some pointers. what are the best shift points? I am at full boost (10 psi) by 2900 rpms, so where should I launch at? can you give me some tips on racing? How do I do burnouts? what are some rpm control techniques? What do you mean by slipping and dumping the clutch? I did a search but the most helpful post I found was a 280 who was only at 7 psi at 3000 rpms so I am sure that causes a nice difference. I race a decent amount, but I have always used an automatic, so the main trick was ''Put foot on gas, go forward.'' lol also, any tips that are just plain helpful. any and all help is greatly appreciated. -Typhoone
  12. that looks awesome. I can't wait for someone to take out a 350sbc from a chevy and make a hybridz model. lol. is there any chance your company can/will make a 300zx model? I can't find any good ones.
  13. there was someone advertising theirs a couple weeks ago and they looked really nice. they had the Z logo on them and they fit perfectly in both corners. I really want to find them because they would look great for shows etc. plus, they weren't bolted in or anything and you could totally remove both speakers & amp within a minute or two. I really wish I had bookmarked the page.

  15. I saw someone on a Z site making custom sub boxes and amp covers a couple weeks ago.....but I can't find it now. does anyone know who I am talking about? if so can you please post a link. thanks in advance -Typhoone
  16. lol, smarta**. it is in the plans, but first I want to get it intercooled so I can use the electronic boost controller to its full potential. I honestly did laugh when I saw that.
  17. okay, talked to the guy. it is ran from the Compressor side of the turbo and a little tuning should fix it right up. any suggestions in case it doesn't work as smoothly as i'd like?
  18. I honestly have no clue, it was already done when I got the car. I will call the guy this evening since I am about to leave. with each case what should I check for?

  22. okay, when I got my car I took a test drive in it and the dash was working flawlessly. we'll, that was about a month ago because I had to get some money up so I could get it insured and registered and all that fun stuff. well, I got that done finally and I decicded to go for a drive. it accelerates great, boost spikes a little bit, but it is awesome. the only real problem is the fact that I have NO idea what speed I was going the entire time because the dash isn't working. the basic lights that always come on were fine, the aftermarket boost and oil pressure gauges were perfect....but the dash wouldn't budge. any idea what I can do to fix this problem??? I love this car but I can't use it as a daily driver if I don't know my speed or anything like that. lol. also, any idea how to fix the boost spike. I have it set at 9 but it jumps to 11. thanks for any and all help. Typhoone
  23. okay, thanks a lot for the extra information. Just wondering, what are the dimensions for an intercooler on a 300zx?
