  1. okay, who makes the best pistons? with nistune or romulator would i be able to get rid of my speed govenor and raise my rev limit? if i do get an aftermarket cam is JWT worth it? do you mean there are 3 different borg warners? i know that is the one i have. is the t3/t4 i have good enough to support 450 - 500 hp? thanks for all your help

  3. oh trust me, I plan on having lots of fun. I know it will take lots time & money but I would like to make it into the low 11s, high 10s in the quarter mile. any suggestions on how best to reach that goal while staying vg powered would be greatly appreciated. t is is hybridz so I also have an 86 that I want to drop a 350/ls1/etc into after I get this where I want it. no point in having 2 project cars at once, then neither would ever get "finished" lol.
  4. lol, nice. close yasin but not exactly correct. it is kinda weird actually. the motor is an 85 that was put in an 84 that was yanked out of that 84 and then put into the current 1985 body, so not really a conversion but a swap. lol. is there a way to tell if its a cali or fed spec somewhere on the motor?
  5. sorry to hear that dude. i've never had that problem simply because I don't argue. it isn't worth the wasted time to me. if my girl gets pissed about something oh well, if she is mad she'll get over it. I go on about my business until she calms down
  6. I got a new toy the other day, and i guess you could call it a birthday present to myself, since my b-day was last monday. what do you guys think about it? it has a t3/t4 turbo, new shocks and springs, interior is pretty clean, all the rust has been fixed, the digital dash works perfectly, and the motor only has 60,000 on it. We did a 3rd gear pull in it, and it still barked. The only thing it actually needs is a paint job, besides that it is perfect....for now. lol. i plan on doing alot to it, and by time i'm done i will be able to keep up with and/or beat anyone in the Sumter area. let me know what you guys think and what you think would be the best thing to do. typhoone
  7. going for the cockpit look?????? if so it looks great....uh...yeah.....lol
  8. you could always just kill him. he wouldn't be able to blow anything else. just an idea. lol good luck.
  9. okay, I got another Z the other day. it is a 1985 300zx, it is a GREAT car. it already has a t3/t4 turbo and a stage 3 clutch in it. the turbo is set at 9psi. we did a 3rd gear pull and it still barked, then TOOK OFF. now it is time to start getting it faster. so, my question is, what route should I take? I am in no rush, and everything is going to be done right. but here are the things I want to do to it: short throw shifter (best one?) cam (jwt is it worth it) intercooler gutted plenum 3 inch turbo back exhaust nitrous new pistons (what brand) electronic boost controller (what brand) bov (what brand) new ecu or a tune (which and by who) walboro 255 pump new injectors cam gears (who, what setting) lighter flywheel and anything else anyone wants to add. I don't plan on using this as my DD til around the end of summer, so I have plenty of time just let me know what you guys think. thanks in advance -typhoone
  10. i have already spent mine, i got a 1985 300zx with a t3/t4 turbo, and a stage 3 clutch, for $1500. i just got it yesterday

  13. what in the froze blue hell is wrong with that person??? it looks kinda like what you would think of as the interior of the little clown cars
  14. okay, i emailed lenco, thank you for that information, just wondering, mike what do you mean by CV? somehow i have a feeling i am going to regret asking that, simply because it is probably something simple that i will kick myself for not know the second i read it.
  15. how hard would that be to stick onto a vg30et?
  16. Okay, i love the fact that with a manual transmission you are better able to control your car's RPMs and other stuff, but i also love the ease and comfort of an automatic simply because if i am really tired at night and about to starve on my way home i can drive and eat and not spill a single thing. SO, i was wondering, is it possible to get a manumatic, sportronic, etc transmission for a 300zx? I have never really heard of one, but who knows, maybe i just missed it. I hope someone says something like "Of course you can, go this website ..... and they can get you one no problem." but somehow i doubt it. lol.
  17. please don't get a miata, i can't stand the way they look. i like something with nice curves, but curves is all that thing has and there is such thing as too much of a good thing.
  18. .....that is quite possibly the weirdest commercial i have ever seen.....but very interesting none-the-less
  19. .........did you really have to put that you were selling it to get a honda.....you could have said just about anything else, but the first thought that anyone gets when they hear the word honda is a crappy fart-can sound.....did you really have to say that???
  20. i don't plan on only running 9 psi, that is just what it is set at right now. I plan on kicking it up to around 15-17 psi as soon as i get the intake gutted and get a 3 inch turbo back exhaust, get a new ecu (jwt) and an intercooler. I was just trying to find out around how much it is going to have when i get it because that is what the guy is running it at right now.
  21. okay, I have seen posts on how much people have paid for their Z when they got it, how much they have spent on their project, now here is another question along those lines. How much would you sell your Z for? how much I it worth to you?
  22. i volunteered, i can add all of the Z sites i have in my favorites.
  23. Lets see, i paid $500 a couple of months ago for a 1986 300zx turbo....with the turbo already sold off of it and a dead oil pump, and in about 3 weeks (at the latest) i will be paying $1500 + $90 for gas for a 1985 300zx turbo w/a stage 3 clutch, a t3/t4 turbo, and only 60,000 miles on the engine. all it really needs is a paint job and it would be essentially "perfect."
