Hi, I've spent hours looking for these pipes all over the place (internet), I just found out they are called "Buttweld", so if you do a seach for this on ebay, you'll find heaps of them. only in the US by the look. I need to keep looking.. Nigel

It sound like you had it welded into your adapter, I was thinking of getting it welded into the manifold itself. Nigel
-
Hi, I've been doing some research on welding a pipe into the bottom of the manifold, and I keep reading about 'Schedule 40', so I've done some hunting on the 'net' and found that its made from "wrought steel and wrought iron", http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schedule_40 so my question is, what 'type' will I need, I assume it would be ""wrought steel", but I honestly don't know (out of my area of expertise) so any input would be appreciated Nigel

Big-Phil, $5 Manifold, you lucky bast..d mine cost me about $50, and another $70 to get it shipped to me here in Tassie, as for the manifold been cast, from another post I asked this question, it steel I believe. sound like I need to cut a hole into it..., or find a adaptor, with the hole (wastergate), at the bottom thanks for the input Nigel

Hi, I'm thinking of moving to a external waste-gate, but not wanting to weld a pipe into the manifold (Dont trust my welding for that), I was wondering has anyone used this type of adaptor to connect there waste gate into, also, does the outlet get in the way of any other things, like the inlet manifold, exhaust housing, etc. Nigel

Have you though about buying some 'gasket paper' and make a new gasket, sounds like you had the original one at some point, so you could use that as a template. Nigel

Hi, I've been looking into buying HID for my car, but can anyone tell me how much electrical noise these HID system make ?, I'm running Megasquirt II, and I'm not wanting to introduce any electrical noise into my system. Nigel

I know year ago, on a carbie engine, I got low readings, but after I opened the throttle (jammed it open), the readings were high. Nigel

If you move all the towers across, I think you should be fine, but I wouldn't just do one. Nigel

on my L24, I've seen my EGT (before turbo) hit a little over 800C, but that only pushing a few gears, not racing.. Nigel

Hi, I have a 1.03 JAWs that I was originally using (it worked great), but I had problems getting JAWs and my MS agreeing on the same AFR values (and I spent a lot of time fiddling with the afr / vout options, but I did put it together), so when the NAWs came up, I got one of those ($50), now NAWs and MS work great together, Nigel

Hi, It's up and running now, but after looking at my spark table and seeing high degrees at low RPM, I decides to make some changes, this is my new table, any comments are welcome, at some point I will need to go to a dyno to have it done professionally Nigel

Hi, I'm running this wideband controller http://14point7.com/Widebands/NAW_OEM/NAW_OEM.htm with this display http://14point7.com/Widebands/ADis/ADis.htm some more pictures here http://noddle.110mb.com/NAW_OEM/index.html Nigel

Hi, It's been awhile, I had it sitting on my desk waiting for me to pull my finger out to install (it's just finishing Winter over here), any way I blew my head gasket about 3 weeks ago, and when I pulled it down to fix it, I installed this at the same time, I must say it very responsive, having a exposed tip, not sure on how long the probe will last, but I'm not racing, so hopefully I will get at least a few years or more, Nigel

siliconintakes.com that's a good site, that's where I brought my vbands and clamps for my exhaust from, it was worth the effort to ship it back to Tasmania. Nigel
-
When I done my head gasket on my engine over the weekend, I though I see what cam it had, to my surprise it had a 'A' cam in it, so if you live in Oz, it's from a MR30 L24e on a N47 head (small chamber) Nigel

I hope you are enjoying yourself and the weather nice, since it still nasty in Tassie. Have you found any nice goodies to take back with you ? Nigel
-
Hi here's a picture of the log at the time I blew my head gasket, the second peak is where it let go And my timing table. Nigel
-
The weather cleared up for a few hours today, so I had a chance to pull it down and have a look, It looks like it been detonating for a while, the AFR is pretty good, but I assume my timing is way to high. at least it's giving me a chance to fit my EGT Nigel
-
Depends what pistons it running, my L24 (240K, and my R30 skyline) both has dished pistons as standard, and with the N47 head (small chamber), it's about 8.3:1 Nigel

I believe that this one has a 'off centered' piece that fits in the larger hole to finely time the cam. it's a bit hard to explain, but the bit that fits into the larger hole has a hole in it, and depending on what "one" you put into it, it advances or retards the cam timing # 1 already one in it.. Thank you very much Paul, The link you provided, I did read that again the other night, and was looking very closely at how the "bowl" area was done, another question, on some of the pictures, the unshrouding work looks like it's radius on one head (first picture), and on another it a sharper angle (second picture), which do you think is better for flow ? Is there anything special needed to be done with the spark plug area on the N47 head (third picture), and lastly, I also assume all sharp edges should be removed Nigel
