  1. True, but that would be good to consider or, at the very least, mention when describing the harness specifically as untouched.
  2. I'm interested in the old harness for a reasonable price. Really, I just want some of the plugs/pigtails.
  3. Don't tell them you're hauling a motorcycle.
  4. I'd find it funnier and more telling if that was a real sportbike instead of a Hayabusa. Still, I'd like me some motard action.
  5. The SV is exceedingly common. From 2003 to present, they've hardly changed at all except in color so parts availability is incredible. I've been rockin' my '03 SV since 2004 when I bought it new and it's about to roll 35k miles of sport-commuting, riding the Dragon, track days, and now 4 crashes (last one was this weekend on the track). The SV650 is generally a fantastic starter bike (Ninja 250 is always a good starter bike but the SV650 is too big and too much power for some. After a period of time, you'll probably begin to think you've outgrown the SV's power - when you get to that point, remind yourself you've still got a lot to learn. Take it to a track day and learn to destroy all the fancy, high-powered supersports; I'm not kidding when I say I've been outriding folks on bike with literally 100HP more than mine just because I've learned to ride it. The horsepower those bikes have is a poor disguise for poor riding. Last I checked, the SV650 is as powerful as the Duc Monster 800 and far more reliable. The only maintenance I've done on my SV: tires, oil changes with Rotella, chain/sprocket clean/lube/replacement periodically, coolant/spark plugs/air filter at 25k miles. I suggest checking out http://www.svrider.com; it's a high traffic site but there is a lot of good info there, though some of it has really been muddied for various reasons. I'm 6'1", 185lbs and I look a tiny bit large for it but that's really just how motorcycles go.
  6. Technically, they're not Merkur's - I believe Merkur was only the USDM brand for those. There were a lot of Ford Sierras and Ford Sierra Cosworths in there and I'm pretty sure we saw an actual Merkur XR4Ti or two, as well. Makes me miss mine some. The Sierra Cosworth had a period of total domination on the track, so much so that they banned it from a particular class of racing - I don't remember the whole story off-hand. Extremely potent turbo 2.0L 16V 4cylinder engine in a fantastic unibody with all-wheel drive. Incredible...
  7. Basic forum etiquette would say you could just contact him through Private Message or find a relevant thread topic or search for this information.
  8. Ah, yes... the big money hammer. That usually works.
  9. It does look like it will fit but it's not in yet. The throttle body isn't mounted, the hood isn't on and who knows if he's going to have to raise it later when it's officially sitting on isolators because the twisting action causes it to hit.
  10. Sorry to hear that. Don't disregard things you did touch - it's typically that.
  11. I'll be your Huckl.... er, Robin Hood.
  12. Staggering. Makes me want to break some laws, kill people, sell drugs, sell my daughter, and do whatever else it takes just to be able to borrow one of these garages periodically. http://www.luxury4play.com/automotive/36568-worlds-most-beautiful-garages-exotics-insane-garage-picture-thread-50-pics.html
  13. Cool! We're in the same state now but you're still 3hrs from me! I've been going to Houston about 2x a month to hit MSR-Houston, which is actually in Angleton, 30 minutes south of Houston. Maybe I can make a point to stop by sometime. Welcome down here. Houston sucks

  15. Awesome! Except for that goofy turn-down tip, it is perfect.
  16. Sure. Straight-thru mufflers are generally perforated pipe inside, which serves the same purpose, and is why some guys have found less backpressure from a 18" Dynomax Ultraflo than a regular 18" pipe of the same diameter. I don't know if the decrease in backpressure is worth putting 10 mufflers on your car.
  17. Seriously, if you give up on saving them, consider the drill method. I tried cutting with a Dremel at first but it was way harder, took longer, and was less safe. I only had to drill about 8 holes with a large drill bit on each drum and pried them apart with a BFS.
  18. I took mine off with a drill. They can never be used again.
  19. I believe we addressed it, saying there's a good chance his coils are improperly wired. I don't believe he ever checked because he thought that was absurd... or maybe he checked afterall and gave pretty convincing evidence. I'm not inclined to go sniffing through it all again.
  20. That's largely what I was aiming for. Thanks.
  21. Agreed! And had to laugh at a subsequent poster's suggestion that a video of a ballerina on a bike was "raising the bar." It was impressive, but please...
