  1. Drax, I forgot to ask: which year and model is this car you got exactly? I can't make out the model number on the back. I'm interested in interior pictures, as well. Looking at gas mileage on the 2JZ'd vehicles versus the BMW I6's has pushed me to the BMW side. I'm considering a 6 cylinder 5-series around year 2000 or 3-series (325, 328, 330) around 2000 (E46), as well. Before I do any of this, I need to be sure I can sell the Corolla and ANOTHER not-running Corolla a friend might give me.
  2. I see SSR MKII wheels... well, something similar anyway. I often see those on eBay but I only found 13's right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140315968683
  3. Clearly! Holy crap, did I just say that. I kid, I kid. Actually, I usually have to clarify for people that I'm not mean... I just play rough.
  4. That's something a stalker would say to take the focus off himself. Perhaps we just find the same threads interesting... perhaps we're made for each other, or at least kindred spirits.
  5. That's part of what bugs me. I already do have my cookies limited to sites I navigate to.
  6. BRAAP saw... and he conquered. Ouch! But you're not kidding, that Ronald McDonald setup needs some serious help. I just saw a clown car engine and went on my merry way, but you really dug in, Paul. You're a manimal!
  7. I'd like to know because I think it's retarded to have spent all this time, trouble, and money (for some) and end up with a wheel that can't have its center cap installed on its PRIMARY application: S30. It's a principle that really keeps me from being all for these wheels.
  8. Gotta say I'm dumbfounded you got nearly as much as you were asking for that thing.... that's an assumption on my part. It was beautiful, but ... wow!
  9. That one doesn't bother me because it just looks at my IP address. Besides, the Supra ads were all for Florida for some reason.
  10. I was looking at cygnus' thread about getting laid off and I noticed one of the eBay ads at the top was showing 4 auctions, all of which were for Toyota Supras. This bothers me because the page I was on did not have anything about Supras except for my own post's signature (says "2JZGTE"). I was, however, surfing Supraforums in another tab. Do we think the ad just grabbed "2JZGTE" from my signature and used that to search the ads? Or is this looking at my history or cookies? I would be pretty unhappy and incredulous if the latter. Point of possible interest: I'm running Mac OS X Leopard and Safari.
  11. Awesome. I need some for a TLS
  12. This isn't the first time Phil has incited an internal "WTF, dude" from me.
  13. Someone posted pictures of that beast here a few months back. Has it been on Craigslist forever now? It still hurts me.
  14. Sorry yo hear that. I predicted my layoff early on and even packed up all my stuff and took it home the night before; I walked in my boss' office the next morning and said "do I have another week or are you guys letting me go today?" He responded "ha.... uh.... come in and close the door." That was back in November and I'm just now hopefully, likely getting hired on with URS (civil engineering contractor for the gub'mint). Good luck. Don't waste your time looking for more work, though. Your wife could lose her job or you could have a tougher time finding work than you expect.
  15. Yikes! Get ready to go over budget. A front clip will probably cost you $3k right off! If you plan to totally pinch pennies and reuse hoses and stuff from the front clip, you might make it in just over $5k. Though, it sounds like you're ready to spend money on a lot of other stuff, including the nice stuff McKinney Motorsports has to offer ($525 for the mounts alone).
  16. Good stuff. I only have one immediate suggestion - get a much shorter intake pipe. There's no real good reason to have it all the way out there and, in my opinion, looks really odd sitting there. If it was me, I'd shorten that pipe to be just long enough to clamp on so the filter is actually touching the blue silicone elbow the other end of the pipe is connected to.
  17. I agree that can work pretty good, but you really have to know what's going on with everything and constantly update it to account for any changes made in the system (ie the whole car). Ultimately, as stated already, all this is doing for you really is giving you a delta to show where you're getting the best efficiency. For example, your calculations may show you're getting 28mpg at 5th gear cruising and 12mpg when passing, but you could very easily be getting 22mpg at cruise and 6mpg when passing. So, now you'd know you were getting better mileage at cruise than in passing. Having knocked the idea, I wouldn't mind doing something similar. However, given that I can check my average mileage upon fueling, I can just look at a wide or narrowband O2 to determine when I'm running leanest and consequently getting the best mileage. Agreed?
  18. How do you guys expect fuel efficiency to be calculated? Air/fuel ratio? Injector duty cycle at certain fuel pressure? As far as I know, the only way to actually calculate the amount of fuel being used is by way of a fuel metering device inline with the pressurized side of things. Even then, there is plenty of fuel rerouted through the fuel return line that would have to be accounted for. How do factory cars with fuel efficiency computers determine fuel consumption?
  19. I may or may not have seen this 300ZX accelerating on the Indian Ocean last night and pulling a 2006 Yamaha R1 (Power Commander and slip-on exhaust) by 2-3 car lengths running from ~50mph to ~160mph. Quite a feat!
  20. I thought there was a RB20DET in there, not a RB25. Did you put the 2.5 in there after buying it? Either way, it sounds great (minus the BOV) and it spools quick.
  21. Have the battery tested. If it comes out good, then start looking for shorts or some reversed wiring.
