  1. rpm fuel values are going to mimic your torque curve. With any restriction in your exhast/intake system your torque curve is going to fall off at higher rpms, so your fueling should as well.
  2. Bleh sucks that you are stuck using autocad! I agree with SHO-Z though, make something more mechanical than a wiring harness. If I was faced with that project right now I might do something like a custom valve cover, intake manifold, exhaust manifold (getting tricky in 2D), roll cage, etc.
  3. If your fan is on while you are driving on the freeway that is a problem in itself! Those fans normally draw 40amps peak though.
  4. I hate this statement as it is untrue as written. (sorry Deep a pet peeve, nothing personal) Given the same diameter a shorter tube has a higher resonance frequency than a longer tube. This usually manifest itself as a power gain at specific rpms corresponding with the resonant frequency. Longer tubes also tend to have more laminar flow when approaching the head than short tubes do. The more turbulant flow in shorter tubes can benefit carb'd cars in particular in keeping the fuel suspended. All this info and a lot more is on this site somewhere in old posts, I know because I wrote it! As for plenum volume, there are lots of rules of thumb out there that are good to follow, but you need to get into your calculations in depth to come up with a hard number. Most rules of thumb aim for good throttle response based on a single TB design. ITB's have much more flexibility with their plenum sizing.
  5. I thought it was Race Bred actually.
  6. Noise wise the best I've seen is a Chicago Pneumatic... great output too. Expect to spend upwards of $3k for a compressor though. At full bore it's just a shade over 60dB. http://212.75.80.201/CPAutomotiveSite/Default.asp?cookie%5Ftest=1
  7. A properly installed heli-coil is a much better solution.
  8. That's where my money would go out of all the previous choices listed.
  9. Swastika's aren't worth that much in my experience. Maybe $300 tops if they are very nice. Just because someone is trying to sell 6 spokes for $650 doesn't mean they are worth that!
  10. Even a cheap *** 32mb video card in the AGP slot will dramatically increase your performance over onboard video. Can't recommend enough that you find something to put there! Your system RAM is being allocated to the on board video card. If you get a real video card you will once again have your system RAM available to you for its real purpose. Something like a ATI Radeon 9200 SE 128MB will cost you less than $50 and make a night and day difference to the way your whole system operates.
  11. Hmm, do you have an onboard vid card that is allocated a bunch of it?
  12. No it's not crazy, it's the whole principal behind a venturi. The Romans we're doing it more than 2000 years ago to increase their water flow through piping in Rome. Lots of motorcycle exhaust piping uses this theory, as do many drag racing cars, etc.
  13. We did a member purge a while ago... mostly users with 0 posts were deleted.
  14. You should be able to make a simple duct out of aluminum sheet that will redirect the airflow however you need it.
  15. HIV not AIDS... two very different animals.
  16. Sorry, I'm not saying a wideband is useless. It's a good tuning tool. However, it's not the end all of making power is what I was reaching for.
  17. Kodiak makes a good product once you finally get the right thing from them. Seems everyone has issues getting the right thing from them the first time. I've ordered twice from them now, 1st time the wheel centers were 50% thicker than they were supposed to be. (ie: heavy) 2nd time they only sent 3 wheels. The 4th came just way later.
  18. Haha, nice stony. (and I agree!!!) Glad to hear you are happy with it Jamie, can't wait to see it.
  19. OK, added a bit more timing and really woke the car up. Throttle response is much better. I am 21* at idle now, and ramp up a bit faster. Still have ping around 4000rpm and am going to add some fuel. Interesting tidbit from EFI101: This was on a supercharged Civic B16 IIRC. The difference in output from 9.0:1AFR-19:1 AFR in the same cell: 6ft-lbs of torque. Power is made through timing not through mixtures... (granted this might be an extreme example, but it does raise an interesting topic of discussion) Widebands aren't all that and a bag of peanuts.
  20. 280z stub axles are marginally stronger and you might want to switch to them at the same time. Should be lots of info available on search if you want specifics.
  21. T-56 and custom bellhousing adapter.
  22. I was member #68 IIRC... still here after 5 years!
  23. I am using the stock turbo cam. My ping is right in the area of 4000. Honestly I've taken a lot of timing out, more than I feel I should have to at this point. I will play a little more with it and see. Probably if I richen it up a bit more in that area I can add some timing back in... I run nothing but 94 octane regardless... and I'm not prepared to run anything higher than that. (daily driver and all) What's your CR Clint?
  24. I am running 8.3:1 with an N42 head and turbo pistons. I KNOW there is a lot of power to be gained with my setup still... all with timing honestly. I'm kinda waiting for a special new tool before I really dive into it. (hehehe, made by a company called dyno dynamics) Clint you are running 24* initial with what CR and fuel octane?
