  1. Man I love that paint scheme on teh ole 55's skin!
  2. Yes I also thought about doing this but now it seems that more than a few are doing it so I think I will pass. However I have an emblem that I came across in a vintage car mag that will be one of a kind on Z car. I would tell you guys what it is but I want to be the first to sport it on my fenders Hopefully by the end of the summer my Z will be up and running and I will unvail the mystery badges.
  3. Dude the a$$ end of that car kicks major A$$! Corolla nothing.
  4. Leave the plugs alone and look else where like everyone else has said. The weather stripping is probably shot. My wifes old 240SX used to have water standing in the spare tire well when it sat out in the rain and yes it gathered up around the little rubber plugs in the trunk. The water was coming from a faulty hatch weather stripping.
  5. Ha I was looking for mine tonight and couldn't find one. It must be in the garage somewehre...but where that is the freaking question!
  6. Ok I finished the passenger side of my brake upgrade including hooking up the emergency cable and guess what I found? It seems that with the new brake hardware my old crusty wheels now will not fit. I had been using an old set of Nissan 15in 240SX factory rims but it now scrubs the caliper. What rim size and off set do I need to finish out my sweet upgrade? Keep in mind I will want the same rims for the front which are stock. Come on guys I know someone else has done the swap and knows what advise to give. I also emailed Ross C. about the question. It is no big deal I had planned on getting new wheels anyway, just not right now.
  7. I have been so busy in my own little corner of the world that I forgot to write him like I promised I will have to do better. Thanks for posting his addy again.
  8. Hey I already had that engine in my Z but mounted backwards See pic below.
  9. Hehe my 75 has lost a lot of weight due to trashing the (in my opinion) ugly large crash bumpers, air conditioning unit, and steel hood. I have a fiber glass cowl inductions hood and a Motorsports Auto aero package with spoiler that will be on the car once I get it running.
  10. Man I am telling you so far so good! I expected to have to do a little fabbing here and there to get the bolts to line up and so forth but it is a quality package! Everything fits like a glove! If you are going to do this go ahead and get the overhaul kit for the 240 calipers before you order the kit from Ross. That way when the kit comes in you can go ahead a get the used calipers from a salvage yard clean and paint and slap em on. The most difficult thing so far was removing the dust or backing plate for the old drum brakes. pita!! Once they were gone the rest has been easy.
  11. I recently discovered how easily a 4 1/2 inch cut off wheel works on a grinder. Man it cut through the backs of the rear brake drums like a hot knife through butter. I will tackle the tranny tunnel with it when I get done with the brake upgrade
  12. Holy crap am I ever pleased with the way the Modern Motorsports rear disk conversion is going so far! I went to the local salvage yard and plucked me two 240SX calipers to go with my kit provided by Ross C. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid65/pf27e4668c50e8ac3f29214d068a05330/fbe49af0.jpg I am going to try and post a few pics of what I have done so far, I hope the links work for you guys. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid65/p4aa5ec9527abf12fce56017edab46af9/fbe49af3.jpg I will work on them a little more tomorrow when I get the overhaul kit for the calipers. The calipers bolt right up to the custom bracket just like they came that way from Nissan! Great kit Ross!!!!
  13. LOL yes Neil she did ah have something that kept me around for that long It wasn't her driving abilities I can assure you
  14. Yeah and while we are at it, give me Pam Anderson as a co pilot and a million bucks in the console!
  15. Looks like a great site. However, I tried searching several different ways and couldn't come up with anything for a fuel tank vent line. If you have the part numbers available go ahead and post them. Thanks, CB
  16. I guess thinking about it guys are more prone to taking more risks than our female counter parts, but the chicks I'm referring to are the ones that claim they can do it better or as good as the guys and damn if they don't try to do it! I had an ex (the one mentioned above) that fit nicely into this category. She had an 88 Trans Am and thought she could out drive any man. Well this one time we were zipping down a curvy bumpy and narrow country road when she went around a hair pin curve and lost control. We were sideways in the curve, in the road that was only about 10 feet wide in the first place. The bad part is we had no seatbelts on and a pickup truck was also entering the curve from the opposite direction. Talk about crapping my pants! I had visions of me flying through the open T-tops and landing in the ditch. There are other stories about this gal but I will not waste space here telling about her.
  17. You never dated the air head that I did for about two years. Way more dumberer than any guy I ever knew or know today. It's not a gender thing.
  18. I gave mine to the local salvage yard and they didn't really want to take it off my hands. I just wanted it out of the way and there was no turning back once it was yanked out. So it had to go.
  19. Yep I haven't called them about the 280 but they do not list them in the catelog. I thought the 240 and 280 had different fuel tanks? That's why I thought that they would not work on mine. I will keep searching I may even try and call that company in Texas. But I am like you the braided fitted hoses would look sweet.
  20. Yep I am facing the same problem, however they don't have them for the 280Z only the 240 and 260
  21. Also go to the Motorsports Auto sight and get their free catelog. They have a whole page dedicated to the V-8 swap. I have the MSA 350 mounts and they also place the engine back behind the crossmember.
  22. Mike what part of Korea were you in? I was just thinking that maybe that's where you had the dog meat. I was stationed in a place called Camp Pelham near the DMZ.
  23. We all do stupid things...we are in fact human...
  24. That is why I try to stay out of the woods where the big bears live and I do not like the ocean that much either... Oh the Great White shark really doesn't try to kill ya it just thinks your a seal or a big fish! Yeah well dead is dead!
