Thanx Aux, I'm off to the store to get that saw! Time to do some cutting! -
I need help with the name of a toy I had when I was little
Georgia Flash replied to denny411's topic in Non Tech Board
Man I remember that thing ("Krazy Car" above post) although I never had one. I did have the big wheel though and used to do dukes of hazard slides on it lol. I remember the day that the plastic wheels in the rear finally split in two! -
Yes the white stuff was there when I did my front frame rails on the unibody last week so I figure that it is the coating that the instructions say it will leave on the metal. Yes I painted mine with the little brush that they sent in the starter kit. I have ordered me another can of this stuff because it works like majic! I will be getting a bigger brush this time though.

Performance difference between I6 and mild V8?
Georgia Flash replied to a topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I have but one word to say about the inline sixes, SLOW! I will be very disappointed if my V-8 conversion doesn't blow away all the bad feelings I have had while driving a inliner. I have had three Z cars, 2 ZX's and the 280 that I am currently working on. None of them could compare to a V-8 powered car. I loved the last ZX I owned and almost cried when it rolled out of my driveway in the hands of a stranger. So why did I get rid of it? Lack of power! One night on my way home from work a guy got right up on my ass with a 60's model Plymouth of some type. I accelerated to about 70 to 80 MPH. The little ZX seemed like it was about to blow up the motor was reved so high. When we got to a passing zone, the Plymouth just strolled on by and never looked back. Oh yeah I tried to keep up with him but he just kept on going until he was out of sight. EMBARASSING! I bought an 87 fuel injected Vette with a 5.7liter and went looking for the Plymouth By the way nothing I have ever driven accelerated like that Vette. If you were not careful the thing would almost get away from you when you stomped on the gas. -

Well I guess that no ones completely sure about this one so after I get out of the shower I'm off to buy a better hack saw (broke my cheapo one some time ago). I will also call hyperflex if I can find a number for them and speak to someone there. If anyone has got these suckers to fit by using the freezing method or anything else besides cutting or grinding them to pieces, chime in and maybe you will save me a trip to the store. I will check back shortly. By the way, I did not have any problems using the rear kit. The mustach bushings just slid right in even using the old shells. I did not takle the bushings on the control arm pins though. -
ALL CUSTOM!!! ALL COMMENT'S/SUGGESTION'S WANTED
Georgia Flash replied to a topic in Body Kits & Paint
That's exactly what I was about to suggest. Ah yes I was 18 once, I had a 1973 green Plymouth Fury with a white vinyl top as my 1st auto. I had big dreams, wanted to put two sun roofs in that sucker, get wide tires and put a slick paint job on it. I even wanted to have the car's nickname painted on the side "The Tank." I remember having these dreams and not having a lot of money or support for them to come to light. Thank God! I say leave the little Z alone and have fun with it. Besides its looks have stood the test of time. How many old 70's model Toyota Celicas do you see running around? Not many. -
Probably the best flame job I've ever seen
Georgia Flash replied to auxilary's topic in Body Kits & Paint
Man I want a flame job like that one now! Alas the only way my Z would ever see one close to that one though is if I poured gasoline on the front of my Z and set it a blaze That is one bitchen flame job! -
Looking good

I should have searched before I asked my last question. Anyway I found this old post and I am still confused. So do you or do you not cut the shells? Some of the guys on this post said that you do some say no. The instructions say NO. However, there is no way in gods name that they will fit into the old sleeves no matter how much freezing or pounding that you do. They are the same diameter as the shells maybe even a little bigger. It looks like to me the only way they will fit is if you get rid of the old shells but then I wonder if they would hold up without the metal shells around them? -
Do any of you guys have the hyperflex front bushing set for your 280? I burned out the old rubber bushings and took out the center sleeve, but the new urethane bushings appear to be too big. Am I supposed to get the outside shell pressed out? The instructions were a little vague about that. And if so, does the new urethane just sit inside the hole without an outside shell? Help

240SX calipers.. Which ROTORS??
Georgia Flash replied to wigenOut-S30's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I bought the whole rear package from Ross and it is currently on the way to my front door I am going to be working on the front suspension tomorrow trying to install the rest of the Hyperflex bushings that I have had for a long while now. Can't wait to get my hands on the rear brake conversion kit. -
Just ordered my rear brake upgrade!
Georgia Flash replied to Georgia Flash's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I have been lagging in the picture taking dept. as of late. I also ordered some more POR-15. I was very pleased with the results I got. Also as another guy said on another post, do not get any on your skin! It will not come off even with repeated gasoline baths! -
Man some people will do anything to a car

Body kits and high wings - History repeats itself.
Georgia Flash replied to a topic in Non Tech Board
I grew up loving the 60's and early 70's generation cars especially the Charger and the Camaro. I do not have any brand loyalty, but I do like the 67-68 Camaro a lot. However, those Superbirds are bad ass cars and Detroit will never make anything like them again. Will a Honda with a fart pipe ever bring a hundred grand in 30 years? Never! Respect the elder cars and never use the word "rice" in a sentence while talking about one of these these beauties! -
My god! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2412594457&category=6161 On ebay for that much moola!

I also read that there were about 6 after shocks but they were to light to be felt. On the yahoo site they list the epicenter as Ft. Payne AL. Greiman it may have been a baby quake, but it was the first time in my 37 years that I felt the earth move under me. Now you want to talk about tornados, I'll put my money on the south anyday lol

Yep a truck or a train! It was kinda funny when it was all over and me and the wife thought about our reactions. I thought at first a train had hit something and derailed near our house. Then I thought that maybe someone was kicking the hell out of the down stairs basement door trying to break in, because the windows were shaking. I grabbed my gun and began to clear the house, wearing just my birthday suit. Then I looked at my wife and said, I think we just had an earthquake!

Hey guys, What is the benifit of having duel fuel inlets on a carb? Until the other day I thought that maybe the carb was hooked to two lines all the way back to the tank, you know like a return line and a main line. But I was looking at something on TV and saw that the duel line set up was only at the carb with one line going back to the tank, or so it appeared. So what is the reason for the two lines going into the carb from just one fuel line?

Rick I too would be interested in that info. I guess I am just looking for the easy way out lol. All I need to know is where to connect the 5 or 6 wires that came off the 350. I got a pretty good idea when I visited GA Z a couple of months ago but I would still like to have something wrote down. As far as having a wiring diagram, I have the Haynes manual and a Mitchell Service Manual wiring diagram. It may as well be written in Chinese because I still couldn't figure out where and how to trace all those darn wires down.

Wow guys did anyone else get shook out of bed this AM? At about 5:00am an earthquake hit NW GA. Yes my California brothers I am not on crack you read right. An earthquake in GA! I think that the epicenter was in NE AL about 25 miles from my home here in NW GA. They are saying it may have been a 4.5 on the richter scale. Shook the windows rattled the floors and rocked my bed back and forth. Never thought I would see an earthquake here in the south.

Well said Mike. I have been in a couple of situations in my life (when I was younger) that I probably could have used a gun on someone if I had been packing. I'm glad that I wasn't because I would probably be dead right now or in prison. They give us training on carrying our weapons off duty and show us real life senerios where off duty cops got themselves in way over their heads. Here are a couple. This one off duty officer goes to a grocery store late at night with his 7 year old daughter. As they are getting out of the car he sees several subjects running from the exit of the store wearing dark ski masks and carrying guns. He places his daughter behind the driver's side front tire and says "now stay right here honey" and pulls out his .38 revolver. He yells "police officer stop!" The perpetrators do stop. However, they open fire on him. The officer fires back. No one appears to be injured as the perps jump into their car and speed away. The officer goes to get his daughter and finds that a bullet has somehow ricocheted off the pavement and struck and killed her. One more example: An officer is in a bank when a robber pulls out a pistol and begins to yell for all the money. The officer pulls out his concealed weapon and places at the back of the guys head. "I'm an off duty officer put the gun down" the man says. The robber complies and drops the gun and raises his arms. However, the robber had an accomplice in the bank who pulled his weapon and shot the officer in the head, killing him instantly. If you are going to carry and think that it will be cool or bad ass, go ahead. Just remember it is dangerous to carry as well. Think about what happens when and if you get into a shoot out on a crowded public street in a residential nieghborhood and one of your bullets misses the intended target. What if it strays into a house and kills an innocent child? Are you ready for that kind of trauma? Like I said carry if you want too it makes no difference to me what you folks do. But be very careful with a concealed weapon and how you plan on using it.

Glad to see ya back Daryl

A lot of police officers that I have worked with over the years are or become gun freaks. I knew a guy once that kept a loaded fully automatic M-16 with laser sights in the trunk of his personal car at all times! You know, just in case. This guy always had a couple of concealed weapons on him wherever he went including at work. He was a pretty scary guy not because of the firepower that he had on him but because he was a little crazy with all that firepower on him I never carry a weapon when I am off duty. Some do some don't. I just prefer not to.
