  1. I put 7mm spacers without longer front studs and my wheel came off while driving and my right fender was destroyed. Yes, I would recommend some long studs.
  2. Stick with the 16's! I'm amazed at how many people do the 17's considering the extra weight(and cost). Un-sprung weight is everything, especially when it's rotational mass. The tire selection in 16's really isn't too bad, yes you do have more in 17's but they are much more costly as well. I caught an awesome deal and got my Rota RB's 16x8 for $565 shipped w/ lug nuts. Plus they only weigh 16lb's each, and they should clear your brake setup.
  3. Shoulder width should be no more than 22" or else the door is going to hit the shoulder wing. This is for a 240z, I don't know if it's the same for a 260/280.
  4. I just uploaded a video of my straight pipe. Here you go! http://videos.streetfire.net/video/1971-Datsun-240z-SR20DET_643830.htm And for reference, here is the same exhaust with a Borla XR-1. It's almost the same just a lot quieter and smoother, with a LOT less awesome backfires. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/SR20DET-Datsun-240z_177045.htm
  5. I would only do a straight pipe on a turbocharged car because it's at least a little bit more driveable. Straight pipes on n/a's are just stupid loud and don't have a particularly nice tone to top it off. But my SR20 w/ a 3" mandrel bent straight pipe sounds great though. Tons of NICE backfires on decel and just overall a raw growl that sounds MEAN. It really isn't too loud at all too if I drive normal, especially on the freeway. Trust me just put one really nice muffler and call it done.
  6. Eh I would save your money honestly. Stock rotors are pretty much stock rotors regardless of being drilled or not. The solid rotor design can't dissipate heat fast enough, and putting bigger calipers on them isn't going to help too much. The threshold of the stock rotors needs more help to dissipate heat than some holes and slots. Switching to vented rotor is the ideal upgrade.
  7. Thank you for the quick response! Very much appreciated.
  8. Here are those pics of my oil cooler. The line on the bottom is the inlet and the line on the top is going out. My mounts are nice and solid too, after 500 miles they are working just fine and are plenty strong. Auxilary, is the inlet/outlet correct? There are no signs on the oil cooler itself that shows which hole is the inlet/outlet.
  9. I'm leaving town in a few hours till next weekend. When I come back I'll take some pics for sure. Thanks for that, I thought that there is no specific inlet/outlet. Im pretty sure it's connected correctly but I'll take some pics for you guys to check it out.
  10. My brother recorded my car with the same program with his iphone as well. My car pulled .77 g's with 225's and about 230rwhp or so and did 0-60 in 4.6 seconds.
  11. Wow that is ridiculously low. The only way that's gonna clear at that ride height is to not use an e-brake. You can take that bracket off the caliper.
  12. I don't quite understand, what part of the brakes is hitting what part of the body?
  13. Almost any Corbeau, Recaro, and most Sparco's will sit you higher if installed with sliders.
  14. Black Friday is STUPID. You can always finds anything on ebay for way cheaper, and three people DIED this year because they got STRAMPLED over. Jeezus christ man.
  15. Looking great Challenger. All these pics remind me when I did all this on my car, it gives you that warm fuzzy feeling inside.
  16. I think yellow is executed best with black accents throughout the car. (IE: Powdercoating all chrome trim black) Black and yellow go oh so good together.
  17. Don't listen to these guys, that's a dash cap for SURE. Since I'm such a nice guy I'll gladly take that piece of junk off your hands for a 100 bucks.
  18. I had to do the same but a trick for any bushings that are a bit too tight of a fit is to throw them in the freezer. That helped me get a few bushings in with less effort.
  19. Challenger, just make sure that you are 100% sure you are set on using the stock brakes. I went through the same process as you and ended up upgrading my brakes all around, and lost a few hundred bucks in the process. Just a reminder!
  20. My car is at one of my buddies shops. I'll take some pics next time I go to work on it.
