  1. Alright I just checked the e-mail that was sent to me almost a year ago. One of Vildini's old customers got 255rwhp on a dyno, but he also had a greddy intake manifold, and headers. And you can run on 15psi with 93 octane. I know I will get the intake manifold sometime soon, but I want to keep the stock headers because they are solid. I also want to add rocker arm stoppers. So yes, it is below 255rwhp. I forgot to take those two upgrades into consideration. Where in So Cal are you? San Fernando Valley? Thanks for the comments everyone, I might have a video by the end of tonight.
  2. I integrated LED's into my plastic steering column cover. They work great, but they need to be in the gauge pointing towards the driver. During the day if there is any sunlight on them they practically don't exist. I definitely need to order brighter LED's though, these are only like 450mcd.
  3. Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm going to have to take a better video of the exhaust note. I'm just gonna have my brother record a video of my launching several times. That video really does not do justice AT ALL! I need to heat it up more next time, so when the RPM's are falling down you guys can see some fire out the exhaust. I took some pics of the gauges/lights last night but the exposure on my camera was really low and my brother wasn't home so I couldn't figure out how to raise it up. I'm gonna take some better pics tonight and post them up. I'll probably do the video tomorrow on my day off. EMWHYR0HEN, did you take into the account of the 2400lb curb weight? I've beaten an M6 up till 130mph and that's supposed to do the quarter mile in 12.8. I know a guy who has his 240z dyno'd to 209 to the wheel and he ran a 13.4 with his 73, which is heavier too. I also have NO traction problems at all. I can take a launch from just under 4000RPM and have nearly no wheel spin, and no slipping through all shifts.
  4. Your in Calabasas? You ever go to Super Car Sundays off Valley Circle?
  5. It's custom made by a buddy of mine. Only 5 in the world exist.
  6. Thanks for the comments guys! Here is that video of the exhaust: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/SR20DET-Datsun-240z_177045.htm?ref=f83ae9f7-9ee5-4b9b-8e37-9af700fd1cd2 And I will try to get pics of the blue gauges/computer lighting tonight. It looks schweeeet.

AND THAT'S IT!!! Oh and I ordered a custom license plate that reads: "ZBEEEST" I would also like to mention that the engine swap was entirely done by Adrian at www.vildinimotorsport.com. Adrian did a SUPER clean job and also did a lot of electrical work that needed to be done on my car. He knows everything there is to know about these cars, and did a wonderful job. He's a super nice guy in person too. He did a bunch of random little things for me that I didn't ask for too, that made maintenance and general work on the car much, much easier. His prices were also very fair, considering he was by himself at the shop and dedicated almost an entire month to my car. He did all the welding, fabrication, electrical, fuel, exhaust, gauges all with his two hands. If you're in the So Cal area I would highly recommend him to do any of your engine swaps. A few nights ago I was driving home and a new convertible M6 pulled up by me at an intersection and revved his engine. Looked like a pretty young guy, about my age, probably not his car. Anyways I got a pretty damn good launch, even though he took me off the line I caught up to him and slowly passed him!!! I was so ecstatic that I just beat a brand new 500hp M6!!! My car was also running the fastest it ever was, this was late around midnight and the temperature was around 60 degree's, nice and cool. Gotta LOVE power to weight ratio baby. Here are the pics! For those of you who are familiar with Stunt Road off of Mulholland Highway in So Cal: I am going to upload some more pictures tonight of the gauges/computer lighting at dark. I also have a video of motor revving that is taking forever to upload. But it should be up soon! Thanks for looking, and Adrian, once again a BIG thank you to you!!
  8. Mines pretty damn low right now with these coil-overs and I don't scrape anywhere. If I take a speed bump at speed it'll scrape the exhaust but if I just roll over it slowly it doesn't scrape anywhere. I'll be raising it before I corner balance it though, it's unnecessarily low.
  9. Scott, I say forget about others showing pictures of their Z's, just show more pics of yours! Normally I look at round tail-light pictures in disgust, but your's was done just so tastefully. you just need to get rid of those bumper mounts and shave it smooth. Then it'll be stunning. Major kudos on the gas cap find. That piece is a beauty.
  10. It's fantastic that a car that looked like it was ready to hit the scrap yard can turn into such a beautiful car. You don't see too many good looking black S30's.
  11. I'm diggin those yellow headlights. They match the 918 orange quite well. Hmmm..
  12. Yea Vida needs to stop trying to talk about cars, or talk in general, and do what she knows how to do, which is taking pictures of herself. lol
  13. As you read this, stop. Stop everything else you are doing. Turn off the tv, phone, and forget about the conversations you are having. Keep listening to the music though, that's cool. So as you read this, look around your room. Grasp everything there is in it. Look at all the random objects. Take anything out, a lamp, a beer, a lighter, a speaker. There is a history to it. Think about your life. Your friends, what you did last weekend. Your last family gathering. The last time you shared a laugh with your grandma. Beautiful. Be thankful for what you have. It's beautiful a life. No matter who you are. No matter where you live in. What kind of past you've had. What kind of friends you've had. All the jobs, happy moments, sad moments, the good music.. All of it. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beautiful. ...Just thought I would let you escape for a moment from your daily activities. Enjoy it. It's the good life
  14. I work at a local Nissan dealership and I was lucky enough to drive one of these monsters. When people ask me how it is, it's ridiculously difficult to describe the sheer speed and feel of the car. The computer system is so advanced that the car just drives itself. Throw it in a corner, mash on the throttle, and the 4wd gives the perfect power distribution and just executes the turn perfectly. The speed is just mind-boggling. I don't understand why Nissan only rated this thing at 480-hp. A 3900lb car with 480 horsepower doing 3.5 seconds 0-60? I don't think so. Yes the launch control system is ridiculously efficient but it's just got so much more power 480, and the potential for a lot more. It's going to be really exciting to start see'ing these things getting modified. Plus there is a V-Spec version coming in a year or so...
  15. Hehe when I swapped out my bushings/wheel bearings I was really stumped too. I just kept looking at the damn things just thinking WTF!? THIS MAKES NO SENSE!!! Then I googled images of the rear suspension and found the answer.
  16. Do a search. I myself have gone through the same problems and the answers are already posted. You're gonna have lots of fun fixing that.
  17. I'm running a straight 3-inch mandrel bent exhaust with a straight through Borla XR-1 race muffler. When I first initially chose the setup I was expecting it to be obnoxiously loud all the time. But to my surprise an almost completely straight through system is very, very quiet. I knew a turbo quiet downed the exhaust tone a bit, but I didn't think it would be that much. On the freeway it's non-existent while cruising at 75. Even when I go WOT, it's loud, but not THAT loud. My brother's MINI with a Quicksilver exhaust is louder at WOT. Fyi, this is with my sr20. Whatever you choose you don't need anything fancy. Mufflers less than 50 bucks will do for a pre-muffler.
  18. Hey everyone, I'm not affiliated with this guy but I'm just letting you know there are brand new RS Watanabe's in 15x8's, to 16x8.5's, to 16x9.5's for sale with correct offset for our S30's. Note, each auction is for a pair. http://stores.ebay.com/Takumi-Project
  19. When I had my carb'd L28 with the hood open the engine totally sounded like a diesel at idle as well. I know it had a mild cam, but I have no idea if there was anything else done to it.
  20. Hah! I remember when I was in San Fransisco I saw a Toyota Matrix with BMW Badges on the front and rear, and even on all wheel's center caps.
  21. Thats why I went with an SR20DET swap. With my original carb'd l28 I was getting on average 12-13mpg. I calculated with the current fuel prices, if I was to get on average 27mpg on the SR20, after driving 30,000 miles the fuel savings alone would pay off everything for the engine swap!
