  1. Is that airbox, on the TWM website, the best way to setup a cold air intake setup on my triple SK carburetor 240Z. Sorry to jump in but I need some cold air soon. Marcos
  2. More questions. Just wanted to know, what does the heat range really mean. Do the hotter plugs run hotter? Are they bad for higher compression and turbo engines. About the resistor plugs, Dan you mentioned that you run them but don't have a radio. Do radios interfere with them? Thanks for all the info, Marcos
  3. Which NGK spark plug is the best to run on a high compression l28 and why? I have a l28 block with E88 head. Marcos
  4. Someone should the guy and on his car. That is a POS if I have ever seen one. Some people just don't know what to do with a car. They shouldn't even own one. LOL Marcos
  5. How much are you asking for it? If you sell it? Did you buy two in case one broke? LOL Marcos
  6. It is very fast but a change in pinion, a modded motor, and a two speed tranny will make it faster. I bought the body from www.strictlyz.com. You can find it in their Gift Ideas area. Here is the link: http://strictlyz.com/?page=shop/browse&category_id=161&ps_session=541acd1356a26a3d1614b8efc90702ac Marcos
  7. Here are some pics of my new racecar. It is a HPI Pro 2 240Z. It is mostly stock, but I am planning to upgrade the suspension, motor and install a two speed tranny. It has an Airtronics reciever, Novak Cyclone ESC and Futaba standard servo. I run it with an Airtronics M8 remote control. LOL http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4291550015&idx=1 Marcos
  8. Cool. We need to show the world that those Mustang GTs are pieces of S%$T. LOL My friend has a 1997 GT and it is always barfing up spark plugs. Really. The brakes went out the other day and he got into an accident. Luckily just right fender damage. He is finally going to get rid of that piece of trash. Marcos
  9. I am thinking of doing the same thing. I have a 71 240Z with a L28 block, E88 head, triple SK carbs, and headers. I will be tearing the car down next year after I start buying a house and have the room to do some restoration and performance work. I am still collecting info to see what I want to, but I have been thinking about putting in a O2 sensor and air/fuel meter too. I think it is a good idea. As far as I know, I think all stock O2 sensors work with the air/fuel guages. Let me know how it works out. Marcos
  10. Those two are good ideas but I wanted a fan with a shroud and that mounts the way the black magic fan mounts on the radiator support. I want to stay away from mounting a fan through the radiator. Any more ideas? Thanks, Marcos
  11. I wanted to put a Flex-a-lite Black Magic 150 fan in my 71 240Z. It has a three core radiator and it doesn't leave enough room for the 150. Does anyone know if someone makes a shorter waterpump that doesn't stick out as much, or can the stock one be modified. Thanks, Marcos
  12. Sorry, i've been busy. A T56 was just a thought. Does anyone know if the gearing can be changed on the 78 5-speed tranny...say swapping out the 5th gear to get the better highway economy and top end speed. Is there a shop in Southern CA that does that kind of work on Zcars, or should I use the later 5-speed. Would acceleration suffer that much. Thanks, Marcos
  13. Well here is my current setup and future plans for this Z. 2.8 block, E88 head, triple SK carbs, 78 5-speed, and 4.11 dif. I was just wondering what it takes to get a T56 to mate to a L6. I love the gearing on my car right now but want to change it when I work on the car next year. I would love to just change the fifth gear to get better top end speed and gas mileage, so can anyone let me know if this is possible. Any other ideas on what to do. Thanks, Marcos
  14. Does anyone know this 6-speed L6 Z guy. Get this guy to spill his guts...I would also want to setup my L6 with a 6-speed. LOL Well if your out there we would appreciate any info you can give us. Thanks, Marcos
  15. Here are the pics of the Z and the rims. That is one sweet V8Z. http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=741264&uid=519685 Marcos
  16. They are HRE...I went to the motorsports auto carshow this year and talked to the owner of the car. He told me that he special ordered these wheels with the correct datsun Z lug spacing. He said that he paid about $3200...just for the wheels no tires. Ouch. That's spensive. I took a higher mag digital image of the rim. Marcos
  17. Hey...don't leave me out. LOL Would appreciate that article too. Have my triple carb 71 right now but want to add another 240Z later, but not sure what engine I want. lt1240zmech@hotmail.com Thanks, Marcos
  18. Thanks Tim. I will probably buy these tools soon. I think I will finally have a chance to work on my 240. Marcos
  19. Is colortune the best tool to use when tuning carbs? Are there any others? Also, does any sync tool do the job for synchronizing triple SK carbs? I've seen a couple different sync tools. Are they all pretty much the same? Sorry for all the questions. I would appreciate any info. Thanks, Marcos
  20. Thanks for the info Lockjaw. I haven't had a chance to check it yet. I have been really busy trying to sell the ZX I have, with my new job, fixing other cars and going to graduations. I hope to get rid of the ZX within a week so I can start to work on my 240Z. I am not even sure what is causing the high idle now. Might also be an electrical problem. My tach is dead, needle doesn't move. I hope to get a chance to work on it soon. Marcos
  21. Cool setup Tony...Should be sweet once you finish it. How much more expensive is it to go this way instead of a 96 LT1 and six speed tranny. Marcos
  22. I have when wanting to do the same thing to my 240 too. I have seen a really cool setup on a red Z at the motorsports carshow two years ago and I saw it again this year. Here is a link showing the setup on that car. http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=741223&uid=519685 Does anyone know where he got this or if it is custom. Hey Tony, I saw your site and was wondering about your 240Z with the Supra engine. How hard was that swap? How much HP do you have right now? What do you pull on the 1/4 mile? Do you have any images showing the finished product or are you still working on it. Cool cars though. Thanks, Marcos
  23. Thanks for all the info mike and ruben. I've been so busy leaving my old job and starting my new job today that I haven't been keeping up with alot of stuff lately. I hope to get back in the swing of things by this weekend. I will finally get a chance to work on my Z this weekend and I will be at the Motorsports Show this weekend. Looking forward to that. I will try and figure out the carbs soon. I will post up if I find the problem, but let me know if you have anymore ideas. Thanks, Marcos
  24. So you think they are getting too much air after the engine heats up? I am new to carbs, never had a carb motor, but I want to learn so I can tune them myself. I haven't tuned the carbs at all. I was hoping to get this kind of help so I can figure out how to tune them and what tools to buy. I will look into those tools on the Summit website to see if I can figure them out. What about that color-tune tool that I heard about. Would you suggest using that. Thanks, Marcos
  25. I am having a problem with my triple SK carbs. It idles a little under 1000rpms when I turn the car on but the idle goes up to 2000rpms when the car is warmed up. It stays around there and won't come down. Has anyone had this problem or does anyone know what is causing this. Any info or advise will help. Thanks, Marcos
