  1. +1 for hammerite. Less prep, and waaayyy cheaper
  2. I'm sure that's the time they do their site maintenance for this web page. But for the record, that's when I get home from work and the wife is watching her dumb shows. A perfect time for me to check all the new posts. So if its not too much trouble, if the I.t. For this site could rearrange his entire schedule for my convenience that'd be great, thanks.
  3. I didn't even try the puller, just man'd up and hammered the s#*t out of it. May have hit my hand a few times...no big deal lol
  4. Got one, not sure if coos bay Oregon is a reasonable distance. I doubt it, but its cheap. It's a '78 and I don't know about heads on these motors. $100
  5. Oh and the friend that does body and paint work i just found out is a convicted pedophile, so the wife sais nay nay. WTF? I can't afford 20k for this work, I was counting on the good guy price
  6. I did nothing today. Guy that is building my rotisserie apparently has no interest in getting things done. The project which should've taken a day is at three weeks now and not even started. Crappy part is that it's the same guy I planned on using is supposed to section my struts, install frame rails, weld up holes, fabricate tail panel, and build custom flares. If he can't handle a simple $100 job, how can I trust him to do the rest for big money? Bad part is that hes my buddy, and he does this stuff as a business. Grrrrrrrrr
  7. Depends on a lot.....money, help, tools, while I'm at it syndrome, etc. theoretically it can all be done in a day. Read a lot and have a plan
  8. Cleaned and painted suspension parts and steering column
  9. Maybe I'll try that, it was import replacement parts
  10. I purchased the bz3099's and they came with a gland nut but not the one for my 280z. When I called tokico the person didn't even know what a gland nut was. Where can I buy the one I need?
  11. Southern Oregon coast, 5-speed from 78 280z, not sure if it grinds, never drove it. $100 come n get it
  12. Well it's not really their fault with global warming and all..............
  13. I just ordered these parts yesterday and they shipped them 43 years ago. 9 years before the car was even built. Hope I get them soon.
  14. By the way, do I get my spindle pin patch/t-shirt? I hammered my thumb 3 times so I think I earned it
  15. Pulled spindle pins today, or rather pushed......about a thousand times. The wife helped by posing for a picture. Lol Also I pulled the inner rear wheel bearings and burned out the lower control arm bushings Make sure you pry out the rear inner seal before pushing out the bearings. The seal is hard to pry out but it will. The bearing didn't budge until the seal was out
  16. In southern ish Oregon, no emission testing. No 'refs'. Only an exhaust that's too loud will get you a ticket That's not an invite by the way, all you Californians can stay there. Lol
  17. That looks sick. Momma said no to the camero lights though, she likes the oval vette lights better. So I think that's what I'll go with, they're off the c5 I think but not sure what years
  18. I dunno, I kinda prefer the oval corvette lights. I've never seen a z with them. I just have to find a way to do it all with sheet metal. I don't want to bond fiberglass. Even the flares I'll be using will be fabricated from steel. I have a metal guy that's pretty good. Should be able to figure it out
  19. My original plan was to do the corvette tail light mod. However I kinda want something that hasn't really been done before. I thought maybe the newer corvette oval lights. Then I saw the new camero lights. Has anyone done any other conversion besides the corvette mod? And I know there's a lot of people that say converting is sacralige, but I like it so be nice
  20. yeah, i do realize replacing both is the right thing to do. I would hate to put on a new one, and an old rebuilt one, then still have issues. this boat has been a headache. I mean damn, how hard is a chevy 350?
  21. well the carb was having problems anyways, it was part of a dual quad setup on my boat. the other carb disassembled fine and is soaking now. I was just trying to not buy two new carbs. but now ill have to buy a new one. I just thought id share the experience with others so they may learn not to trust everything they read on the internet. lol
  22. Well the carb is junk now and in the trash :-/ During the rebuild I attempted removing the jets, secondary jets came out fine, but primary jets were stuck. As soon as I applied a bit of pressure the slot for the screwdriver basically crumbled. I googled the problem and others have experienced the same thing. Their suggestion......break out the drill and keep sizing up until the remaining thin part of the jet "peels out'. I tried that but the jet never peeled out. It's stuck on there forever and the threads were probably screwed up in the process. Boo!
