Its located between the firewall and the rack, easy to spot. It is actually right off of the rack as it attaches to splined section of the rack. New form Nissan is big bucks ($250+) IIRC, used is the way to go.

could be either the rack & pinion or the steering shaft u-joint which often goes bad on these cars. Good luck!

I have a finned diff cover from an R200 CLSD. It is from an 87 turbo but will fit an earlier 280zx R200 (I don't think any 240-280zx came stock with a finned cover). It is very clean and undamaged, $200 shipped. Pics available upon request.

Evil: Yup, I work in Yonkers so I am down in the area pretty much all the time. -However- no need to go all the way down there as I am pretty sure I have met you and seen your car at some of the CTZCC meets. I live in Danbury and have tried to make as many meets as I can in recent years. I have a black 86 turbo w/ gold wheels, you may or may not recall it.

I've got 2 for sale, take you pick: #1) has been rebuilt w/ new bearings, seals & clutch disks. Reassembled and adjusted as per FSM specs. Comes as a longnose w/ cleaned finned rear cover but no companion flange $1100 #2) still in a turbo parts car I recently bought. Car has 190K on it but is unmodified and well taken care of (mechanically that is, car is a rustbucket). Rode like new, no noises or unusual things happening. Will have to have a little time to pull from car. Will come with companion flange. $700 Both are located in Yonkers NY just north of the Bronx, or southernmost tip of Westchester if you prefer I know prices may seem but that is about the current market value. Let me know if interested. I am only selling one as the other will find its way into my Z eventually.

I AM RUNNING 18X10 rears and 18X8.5 (or 9, i forget) fronts. 275 in the rear, no issues at all. Offset will be your major determining factor as well as tire width, 295 will be close but possibly do-able.

As these guys have said, the compression ratio is the only internal difference. Only other thing to keep in mind is that you may have to change the placement of the exhaust studs as htey are differnt for turbo/non-turbo. That is, of course, if it even come with studs. Also od minor importance is if it is a "W" or "A/B" series block as these will have some crank pulley differences.

Short answer: yes You'll need to do a minor repinning of the O2 sensor wires but otherwise it should work fine. Earlier (84/85) ECU's are known to have a rough idle when initially started and the motor is cold, fine when they warm up.

z31's didn't get vented rotors on the rear until 87+. Front diameter is the same for either 4 or 5 lug (as stated previously), offset is same as well. Basically if you stay in the realm of 84-86 most everything is the same regardless of 4/5 lug turbo or non. 87+ starts to see some differences from the 84-86 and there are also differences between turbo and non.

If you haven't found a heater core yet I have a brand new one for sale at a very reasonable price (they are expensive). I also recommend replacing the hoses while you have it all apart.

I've got a like new pair of Polk Momo 8" which were installed in a small custom box in my 300zx. (gently) Used less than 2 hours total I would say. Box weighed too much but sounded great. Box has since been sold and speakers have been sitting in a drawer. Also have a 2 sets of very nice crossovers. Kicker or Inifinity and one other pair I can't quite remember now. I suspect he is referring to the rear crossmember bushings. You can go either OEM or pick up a set of of poly ones. Z31parts.com or courtesynissan.

no difference, will work fine. Obviously test fit prior to final installation. Companies listings and interchanges are often weird and just plain wrong.

I've got 2 qts. of Kaaz diff fluid which was originally intended for my Kaaz diff but sold it. I've now got a shimmed R200 and was wondering if there is any reason why it shouldn't be appropriate for it? I'm assuming it will be fine but sometimes you smarty pants type folks have some in depth words of wisdom.

I've got a 3.7 CLSD longnose R200 from an 87T auto. Are you located in Portland, Maine or Portland, OR?

The plugged and tapped version was only for the Euro spec models as some of these were equipped with a separate cooler. The garden variety US spec ones have the bungs on the cover but they are neither plugged nor tapped. But if you are feeling frisky I'm sure it could be done Either will fit a longnose r200.
