  1. that looks really good. heres a link to watch it online. its buffering really slow for me, but it might work a bit faster for everyone else. http://stagevu.com/video/ywqyyhyhqduh
  2. awesome read. i have to say, as much of a non-fighter i am, when it comes to my car, you better watch out. cops around here do a little when it comes to car thefts, but not enough. we've had a few a cars stolen within a half mile of my house recently (three cars broken into INFRONT of my house) and it took a long time for the cops to locate these punks. i would love to beat some ass if my car was messed with. best way for kids these days is to learn the hard way, a few broken bones and hurt pride. too many delinquents these days.
  3. i agree on the rear being ridiculous. i dont think its an s13 throwback though. i feel that design is a "generic" sports car platform. lots of concepts and cars in production have a similar shape. there was an episode of top gear where they tested what they called the "chinese rolls royce," the company that makes that car makes a sports car that looks a lot like that to me. i cant remember at all what the manufacturer was and google searches brought up nothing.
  4. I picked up my first s30 when I was 17. I got into Nissans and drifting when I was 16 and naturally became a big Nissan fan. I did a lot of researching older Nissans and all the motors Nissan has made. When I found out about S30s I knew I had to have one eventually. The 240sx I was driving was on its last leg end of junior year in highschool, so it was time for a new car. I lurked craigslist for awhile looking for another 240sx when I remembered the Z cars. Did another search for Datsun, and there it was. Beautiful black, clean all original 1977 280z. Very little rust, lots of miles, but it didnt bother me. I changed my boxers and jumped on it. Picked it up for $3500. It never gave me any out of the ordinary problems. Having older guys stop me on the street and tell me stories about when they had a Z is fun too. One guy told me about how he and a buddy were in his 260z driving across, I think he said, the Brooklyn Bridge at 120mph blasting Zeppelin back in the day. Crazy guy but cool stories. Drives a Z32 now. Now I'm a couple months from 21 and I'm on my third. I still have the 77, but now have a 240z and an LS1 in the garage waiting for me to get another job. Sold another 240z I had.
  5. haha, good point. i never did bother to even check for an o2 sensor. I just assumed after replacing the injectors, wires, plugs, and filters that it would be a sensor. I dont know what else I would need to check. Regardless, it will be replaced by a 240z with an LS1 swap in a few years. But if anyone has an idea of what to check next, let me know. It has been the most reliable car I've ever had. Even my old Honda had bad oil consumption issues.
  6. get another pair of viennas and use the sportmax's for the track.
  7. i need one of these too. my friends big ass feet ripped it clear off
  8. they started using metal guides with the KADE. not sure what year but i know kouki s14's have 'em.
  9. theres the tensioner and then the plastic guides on the right side. stole this pic from nico forums.
  10. chain guides i believe. common problem. found them in the oil pan of several KAs i took apart.
  11. i want to do something like this too but using SPL Parts tie rods. they are by far the best aftermarket tie rods on the market. i think TTT could produce some very nice tie rods, i'd definitely but them if they were made available. www.splparts.com
  12. drift car for sale http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=1026123#post1026123

  15. heard about this on zilvia. very sorry to hear. i hope you get enough money back to fix her.
  16. http://www.citytireonline.com This is the only place I order my tires from. Great customer support and great prices.
  17. So i've been a member here for awhile, owned a 280z about 3 years now, but havent had any reason to make a build thread until now. Maybe 3 months ago I got the itch to start working on the Z and sell my s13. So I started collecting parts while I look for a clean shell. Picked up a 2002 Vette LS1 with only 700 original miles, fender mirrors, random motor related parts, JCI mounts and driveshaft, JTR manifolds and radiator (Still waiting on), and wheels through the Rota RB-R gb. Last week I found the shell i wanted, and today she was delivered! $1500 for a clean shell, parts car, and an ENORMOUS amount of spare parts including new Nismo seats, a good condition R200V, and rear louvers which I've always wanted for my 280. Sad thing is the parts car only has 48k original miles. Last date on the title is 1992, must have been sitting and rotting away since then. I only have one picture since I spent most of the time after they were dropped off sorting through parts and moving the parts car around by hand (so glad these cars are as light as they are). The car is in awesome shape. It sat outside of a body shop for about 7 years so the clear is coming off. The paint on the underside of the hood is so smooth and perfect. The underbody is amazing, very little rust on the ends of the rails, but the hatch has an inch of bondo on it and is rusting badly. Thats pretty much all thats wrong with it. Cant wait to get started on this! I need to sell my s13.
  18. i've only been tailgated once by some idiot in an intergra. i changed lanes to let him pass, but apparently he wanted to race and changed lanes with me. so i pulled the ebrake up real quick. not enough to slow me down but enough so he hears the tires squeel and throw a little smoke his way... ...he backed off.
  19. picking up a couple sunday, thanks anyway.
  20. haha same L28 that was installed 32 years ago in the factory. i havent replaced the O2 sensor yet so thats probably why.
  21. i have been DD'ing mine for the past 2.5 years. its the most reliable DD i have ever had! besides your usual tune ups and basic maintainence, only things i've had to replace on this car was a couple grounds and alternator. it also starts everytime without a problem, my first two cars were not like that at all haha. the 10mpg does suck though
  22. if the master cylinder is 7/8th's it will work.
