  1. Thanks Mr. Dodge! Kinser I checked out your build page. Been wrenchin alot, looks good! I haven't met you but your 240sx isn't ugly haha. Hows the S30 build coming?
  2. Yea I live in Terre Huate and go to ISU. Have we met at any indy z car club events? My name is Kyle Hacker. Could you attach a link to your car? I'd like to check it out!
  3. Thanks man will do, I think its in my blood so I aint stoppin haha.
  4. This just makes me laugh cause sometimes I'll just sit in the garage now that my z has came a really long way and just stare at it. lol
  5. I've been drooling over other compilation videos like the one I've just made for years and now I can finally add one too! I owe a ton to hyrbidz for what I know about Z's. I don't know what I would have done with out this website. You guys are awesome. Let me know what you think! Its still a work in progress, are they ever really done? haha Watch it here! =>
  6. Sounds like your on the right path to tacking down the problem. I have the same car that used to have the same problem. Have you done a wiring/component diagnostic through the ecu? I don't have the manual any more because my computer was stolen unfortunately. Have you checked for all vacuum leaks? Have you checked to see if the vacuum advance holds vacuum? The intake boots can be cracked like mine were.
  7. Thanks I'll try that on my distributer. crossing my fingers
  8. 1978 280z and number one cylinder doesn't fire and number two comes and goes. I have good compression in all the cylinders, I have spark at new plugs. I have new wires cap and rotor too, I have good fuel pressure from the fuel pump, new injectors, new injector connectors and I went through the entire warness with my ohm meter at the ecu conection and I even tried another ecu. I used one of those lights at the ecu connectors (the name escapes me) too. Could there be something wrong in the distributer? my logic tells me that if the distributer was bad I would have problems with all the cylinders. I don't know what to think now. Please help.
  9. thanks for the help guys. I did ALOT of work on it tonight and found that I wasn't getting battery voltage at the ecu connector for #1 injector. So after a ton of testing on the ENTIRE system I found that my large dropping resistor was bad. Hopefully this is the last of my electrical worries. The car is still missing but I have all my cylinders now! thanks again
  10. Thanks for the reply, Which connections should I check for this problem? injector connectors? ecu connections? I'm not sure. I really appreciate the help!
  11. My 78 280z is dropping #1 cylinder and sometimes #2 cylinder due to the lack of signal to their injectors. I have rebuilt injectors and brand new connectors. What could be causing this problem?
  12. JB welding mine and its insanely strong, no problems at all.
  13. Also dtaylor, do you have any problems with the 8.5" wheel in the back hitting the strut tube? Do you have coilovers?
  14. I think i threw up in my mouth a little bit when I saw that page of cars...YUCK!
  15. how is that an improvement in looks or functionality?
  16. Robbie is my hero! Can't wait to see the full story about his car.
  17. Dang nice job. those look awesome.
  18. Cool man can't wait to see them on your z! You'll be the first I've seen with the raydots mounted correctly. Btw do you think that the raydots would be as useless as the talbots if they weren't convex? I might try some talbots with convex mirrors if it helps the problem.
  19. Those are good looking mirrors but I think they are more of on the hot rod side to me, (well they are on a hot rod website). I was looking more towards the SPA look. If no one can identify the blue Z's mirrors could it be possible to get these mirrors and polish the base and the stem?? Even with all the nooks and cranys? http://www.spatechnique.com/product_pages/productdetails.asp?product=FBL|82# http://www.spatechnique.com/product_pages/productdetails.asp?product=FBR|83# I was thinking about polishing the stems and base of these mirrors first and then paint the body's of the mirrors body color. Can this be done?
  20. Still one one of the most amazing Z's in existence IMO. Has anybody been able to identify the mirrors on it? Are they motorcycle mirrors? I love the chrome base with the Spa/motorcycle style. These are exactly what I'm looking for.
  21. Wow close call..I'm glad you avoided that a$$hole, I love the way your z is turning out. That would have been devastating. I think the black beauty mirrors are def to low and they need to be where the originals were but farther forward. Good luck with the Raydot install. Look forward to seeing your progress, they should look really sweet!
  22. I found this Z while surfing zparts.com and it has raydots!! Check out the links! http://zparts.com/showcase/bl_V8-240Z/pictures/DCP_0445.html http://zparts.com/showcase/bl_V8-240Z/pictures/DCP_0407rw1c.html http://zparts.com/showcase/bl_V8-240Z/pictures/DCP_0431rw1.html http://zparts.com/showcase/bl_V8-240Z/pictures/DCP_0441.html http://zparts.com/showcase/bl_V8-240Z/pictures/DCP_0341rw1.html
  23. I PMed Ulises with the amazing red, LS2 powered S30 with talbot mirrors to get his input. And capt_furious I will be anxiously awaiting that raydot write up because I don't think I can go with the Talbots, read what I sent to Ulises below. And by the way Ulises mounted his talbots farther forward as you mentioned. I don't think we went with the convex mirrors though, that might help. Have you had any lack of adjustably or bad vision with these mirrors? I have been told by some members that they are useless, is this true? If not, I was wondering if you could give me a couple pointers on how to get mine to avoid the bad vision/vibration. You would be helping me and many others with your reply, I know many members who need help here. Thanks for your time. P.S. I have welded up the original mirror mounting holes so I have a little mounting freedom also I will be using the Talbot copies. Ulises reply: I have to agree with the other Members, This mirrors are just for looks. I have been a Z owner long enough were I don"t need them...originals were useless so I did not mind.... Thank you!!
