  1. It looks great in the pictures. Did you just put plastic sheeting up around the car in the garage before you sprayed? Love the car in the background also!
  2. ooh, sign me up for one of those spoilers when they become available!
  3. K&N and Mobil are both made by Champion Labs. I believe the internal filtration elements are slightly different between the two. Here is a link to an analysis of oil filter efficiency: http://sterkel.org/systems%2Dengineering%2Dassociates.com/papers/avocations/Filter_Element_Efficiency.pdf This is a link to the ensuing discussion on Bob-is-the-oil-guy forums http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1079565&fpart=2 These people are pretty serious about their oil and the filters they use. The only other notable thing about the K&N filters is that is does have a nut welded to the top of it for purposes of placing a socket or wrench onto it to tighten/loosen it. It also has a small hole in the nut so that you can string a wire through it so that if it somehow works itself off of your engine it won't fall out onto the track/road. I myself use Purolator Pure One filters. I've tried the K&N filters and they certainly do the job, but I usually don't want to justify the cost of them or the Mobil 1 filters. Occasionally Advance Auto has an "oil change special" where I can get 5 quarts of Mobil 1 and a Mobil 1 filter for a pretty good price.
  4. yeah, why not use some aluminum? its lightweight, strong and relatively easy to cut and work with. If you make one I'd like to get some measurements for you as I was going to do the exact same thing with the same airdam
  5. i got a 1982 280zx turbo automagic as a donor car in october, the shell was in rough shape but mechanically it was more or less stock (no aftermarket stuff) and seemingly no parts swapping. mine definitely came with the 3.54 R200.
  6. I may be going out on a limb here, but IMHO a Z isnt a good car (2+2 or now) to be ferrying the kids around in. Not very safe collision wise and I'm willing to bet a lot of the new safety seats won't even fit in the back of a 2+2 or have the proper ways to be secured.
  7. if you do a search for skyline R32 intercooler you can find one for $89.99 that is the same as that second link...the jetta one.
  8. yeah seriously, i'd love a dash cover like that in suede or fake suede
  9. I mean no offense here, this should be taken as constructive criticism but that font is pretty unprofessional looking. Its a standard font that I see used all the time and I cringe everytime I see it used for a professional company. Sometimes with logos less is more...you should consider a more business like font since the writing isnt the main part of your "logo"
  10. i have some of the swastikas in my garage with no tires on them, i can try to take a few pics to put up....when i was cleaning them up i remember thinking they seemed like a 2 piece
  11. pretty awesome, why does it run the 260 taillights?
  12. do you happen to remember what size you used?
  13. what bolts/nuts/washers are you guys using? I have the poly mount and am waiting for the RT mount from roostmonkey but I need to get all new hardware as the old stuff is all in pretty rough shape.
  14. what you could look into doing is setting up the reflector side of those as foglights, aim them at the ground...maybe use yellow bulbs and still do the how/high beam in the projector side of the lights so you only need 1 bulb/ballast on each side for the headlights. if you search on hidplanet.com they have forums detailing everything you could ever want to know about HID swaps, conversions. I plan on running the bi-xenon FX35 or Murano projectors in a modified 7" sealed beam housing on my Z...im sure there is someone on HIDplanet that has done something similar to what you are doing
  15. wouldn't it be better to get some projectors from some of the newer cars that use bi-xenon projection and use a triggered solenoid to move the lens blocker up and down to let more light through for the high beams? thats what I plan on doing.....what does your headlight housing look like on your corolla?
  16. the friend Im building my car with & I plan on putting one of the voice notification systems from the 82-83 280ZX and 80's maximas into our project car just for fun, probably will suck to wire up but we have two of them from a parts car we got. the car is going to be completely murdered out too (all black)...im sure it will remind some people of KITT but we just want it to look mean on the track.
  17. this thread has some good info. i'm relieved to read more confirmation that the autopower roll bar mounting points are "safe". I was lucky enough to find the SCCA one unused for $200. I plan on cutting the harness bar off of it and probably going to fab something welded up between the struts with some DOM to use as a harness bar.
  18. I was just about to do this to my CV boots, thank you very much for the walkthrough. its really thorough, i'll let you know how it works out for me.
  19. check out carfiche.com you can get free factory manuals from them somtimes. i know it has helped out eons on my 350z, 240z and 280zx
  20. looks a bit out of place having those wheels without the flares...I'd either pick some different wheels or get the flares
  21. http://www.boltdepot.com/ you could get the tools to measure pitch, length and all that for stuff you can't get answers on.
  22. anyone have a 280z mustache bar they'd be willing to let go by chance?
  23. I just got a throttle body spacer from Juan on ebay, got it pretty quickly and it was a good experience overall.
  24. there is a guy that runs a shop near me called Function Tuned that does all Z33/G35 stuff and he has an AWD setup in his Z. I believe he is running the G35X auto tranny now but was working on adapting a tranny from an RB26DETT
  25. i love the shaved sidemarkers and the trim painted black.
